“But Jesus said unto
them, a prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his
own kin, and in his own house” Mark 6:4
LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Whatever God honours must be treated
as such.
The word, ‘honour’ means to respect, to treat with reverence,
to treat as uncommon and to hold in high regard. Every believer is expected to
respect God and everything that the name of the Lord is placed upon. It could
be a place, people, location etc (Mark 2:1). When God is not respected, His
blessings cannot come on the people concerned (Mark 6:6). When priests enter a
city, they must be welcomed, honoured and received (Matthew 10:13-14). To
dishonor the men God sends to you is to dishonor God. Whatever God honours must
be honoured. What you do not honour, is what you do not expect to receive (Mark
6:3-6). The danger of dishonor is to bring judgment and destruction. To receive
from the Grace of God, you must learn to observe principles.
Honour is faith in action. It is a doctrine of the faith of
Christ. The more we recognize, the more we function in the grace of God over a
person’s life. When we walk in honour, it means that we believe in the finished
work of Christ. Honour can interrupt the affairs of divinity for a man’s sake
(Mark 5:25-34). Honour is seen in the way you receive. When you treat it as
ordinary and common, you lose the virtue and value that comes with it. You do
not attract what you do not honour and respect. It is the attitude of honour
and respect to God that determines what flows from Him to us.
INSTRUCTION: Do not treat God or His men as
common.
PRAYER: Lord, as I honor you, I receive all
the blessings that flow to me, in Jesus Name.
QUOTE: Never expect from who you do not
respect.
