THE POWER OF THE BLOOD (2)

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” Hebrews 9:22

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The blood is a person.

Yesterday, we established that the shedding of the blood of Christ took place at the mercy seat in the holy of holies and not at Calvary. But what kind of blood did Christ shed at the mercy seat? A close and spirit led interpretation of the scriptures tells us that the blood Jesus shed at the mercy seat was not his liquid blood. Jesus was not carrying any physical liquid blood when he rose from the dead. He presented Himself. This is to say that the blood of Christ is the person of Christ. The blood is a person. When Jesus rose from the dead and Mary saw Him and tried to come close, Jesus told her “…Touch me not; for I am yet ascended to my Father” (John 20:17). Remember that Jesus was to ascend into heaven (the immaterial and invisible realm) both as an High Priest and, to offer himself to God not his liquid blood. So, the appearance of Jesus before the Father in heaven was the offering of himself. Hebrews 9:11-12 says, “But Christ being come an high priestof good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us”.  Also, Hebrews 9:23-26 says, “It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with the blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself”.

When the Bible talks about life in the flesh being in the blood (Leviticus 17:11), it is referring to the spirit man not the liquid blood. Have you ever wondered why someone would have an accident and lost almost all his blood yet he wont die, while another would lose no drop of blood yet he dies? This is to tell you that the blood referred to is not the red looking liquid but the eternal spirit in the man. Therefore, Jesus through the eternal spirit, which is the life of the flesh in the blood, offered himself without spot to God for our sins (Hebrews 9:14). Hallelujah!!

INSTRUCTION: Never misuse the blood of Jesus

PRAYER: Lord, I acknowledge the power that is in your name.

QUOTE:  When you call the name of Jesus as an office and authority and not as in letters, situations change for the better.
