THE GOSPEL BRINGS LIFE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith…” Romans 1:16-17

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: There is no other way to learn about, receive, or understand the righteousness of God outside the gospel.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God to save men. His power to bring those who believe out of sin, into the life of righteousness is encapsulated in the gospel of His grace. There is no other way to learn about, receive or understand the righteousness of God outside the gospel. In 2 Timothy 1:10, the Apostle Paul shares another inspiring thought: through the gospel, life and immortality have been brought to light. What kind of life is he referring to? It’s the divine life; the God-type of life. It is this life that makes men sons of God and this life is only in Christ Jesus. 1 John 5:11-12 says, “…this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life”. Being born again, we have not only become righteous, but have also become the unveiling of God’s righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. Righteousness has become the character of your spirit. The ability to be right is inherent in your spirit. You can now live that life of righteousness, the nature of rightness that God has given you, from inside out.

Furthermore, you have, and can live the God-kind of life. This is the overcoming life that makes us superior to Satan, darkness, diseases, sickness, failure, defeat and death. It is a life that is beyond this world. This extraordinary life, along with the gift of righteousness was delivered to us in Christ, through the gospel.

INSTRUCTION: Accept Jesus, accept life.

PRAYER: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: Whatever can handle sin, can also handle death.

YOU AND CHRIST ARE ONE

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world 1 John 4:17

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:  As Christ is, so are you in this world.

The name of Jesus is not in the letters. The Name of Jesus is an office. When you own the Name of Jesus, you have His authority, you own His office and you own His work. What Jesus can do is what you can do. What cannot fight Jesus cannot fight you. In Him, you live, move and have your being. You cannot be separated from Christ. His victory is your victory; His triumph is your triumph. When you look at Jesus, inside Jesus you see yourself. When Jesus looks at you, He sees Himself. When you look at each other, you behold yourselves in each other (1John 4:17). As Jesus is, so are you. When you see Jesus, you reflect each other no more, no less. You are not inferior neither is Jesus superior to you. But the prayer is that you come into the knowledge of these things. Because when you lack the knowledge of these things, you will relate with God exactly backwards. When you are ignorant, you go about patronizing salvation shops. You have received the anointing (Acts 3:10).

The basis for miracle is not your holiness, power or anything that is yours. A miracle is a miracle because it has no human contribution. It is when divinity enters time and suspends time. The resultant effect of the suspension of time is called miracle. It is when eternity invades time and matter doesn’t matter. It does not take anything for a miracle to happen. All it takes is you asking for it. A miracle is not a show of power; it is a show of God’s love for His people. A believer in Christ does not have a spirit problem. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. You do not have to try to be spiritual; it is already who you are. Whenever you try to be spiritual, you are acting outside of your nature. Being spiritual is not an activity. It is already your nature. You do not need to shake your head to enter the spirit, you are already in the spirit (2Corinthians 4:13). The Word of faith is the Spirit of faith which is Christ. All that Christ died for has been supplied in the believer.

INSTRUCTION:  Acknowledge that you and Christ are one.

PRAYER: Father, I enforce my redemption in Jesus Name. Amen

QUOTE: Being spiritual is not an activity.

LIFE IN GOD’S WORD

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.’ – John 1:1-4

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:A life outside the word of God is a life devoid of God.

Until you receive light, your life remains in darkness. Today’s text describes Jesus as the source of life. In Jesus there is life. Also in Jesus is the light of men. Wisdom, understanding and discernment are pre-requisite elements which make life easy. Except you receive Jesus your life will remain useless. The arrival of light is the beginning of life. Therefore, Jesus is the ultimate source of life.

The account of John 1:4specifically says, ‘In him was life; and the life was the light of men’. The pronoun used for the Word of God is not ‘it’ but ‘him’ – signifying an intelligent creature with a personality. Light emanates from the Word of God and that Word of God is Jesus. We can simply put the verse this way: ‘ln Him (Jesus Christ) is life; and the life is the light of men’. When Jesus walks into your life everything in you comes alive. You cannot be in Christ and you experience death.

How can the Light or the Word of God be of benefit to you? What are the blessings attached to your association with this Light? First, putting God’s word to work enhances your worth. Your worth in life is a function of the Word of God you practice. A life outside the word of God is worthless. A life outside Jesus (the Light) is not worth living.

If you want to be blessed you have to engage in the works of the Word of God. It is vital that you accept that the essence of your existence is to serve the Lord. Jesus Christ deserves your worship. One reason is that He is your creator. ‘All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made’. Surely, He is the light that emits life to all those who identifies with Him. Christ is the living light that shines in the dead darkness. When He shows up in your dark world, your world will be illuminated with His glorious presence. His light is the source of eternal life. If you have Him, you will have that indestructible life.

INSTRUCTION: Never detach yourself from the light that guarantees eternal life..

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I rely on you. I have life because I believe in you, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: Life has no value without the light of God’s Word.

THE REALITY OF THE GOSPEL

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God (which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures) concerning his son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh Romans 1:1-3

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The gospel is God’s commitment to man.

The gospel is God’s promise to man fulfilled. It is God’s commitment to man. 1Peter 1:10-11 says, “of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: searching what, or what manner of time the spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow”. The gospel was promised in the Old testament, fulfilled in the Four-Gospel and revealed in the Epistles. The facts of the gospel speak for themselves. I Corinthians 15:1-4 says, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also, ye are saved, if y keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ did for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”. The facts of the gospel are that Christ died, was buried and that He rose from the dead the third day. This is what brings salvation to man.

Romans 8:1 (NLT) says, “so now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus”. The gospel is what frees man from condemnation. Redemption does not function in feelings. It is a legal issue and there is no sentimentality in legality. The gospel is all about the restoration of the lost glory of man through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Anything outside of these facts is not the gospel.

INSTRUCTION: Stay with the gospel of Christ.

PRAYER: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Amen.

QUOTE: There is no sentimentality in legality.

YOU ARE NOT OF THIS ECONOMY

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son Colossians 1:12-13

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: in Christ, we have and walk in superabundance.

The believer in Christ is a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light; an inheritance that is bigger than this world. In Christ, we have and walk in superabundance. There is no inflation, recession, lack or poverty. The economic situation in the world today may have left many terrified and hopeless but you must think differently. This is because you are not of this economy. You operate from a higher realm. You are greater than inflation, you are bigger than the economy. The Bible says, “Therefore, let no man glory in men. For all things are yours. Whether Paul or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; and ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s 1 Corinthians 3:21-23. The world is yours and everything in it. Therefore, you must think and function differently. Job 22:29 says, “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is a lifting up”. And in Jeremiah 17:7-8, the Bible says, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit”.

This is the reality about you, because you are the seed of Abraham. Your success, progress and prosperity are guaranteed even in the worst of austere times. Economic problems are not new. They happened even in the Bible days. However, God always led His people through them victoriously. Therefore, let your mind soar beyond the happenings in the country. Have the mentality of a victor. Choose to see things from God’s eternal perspective, and continually live with the consciousness that you are from above; a child of the kingdom bigger than the economy of the world.

INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge that you are a seed of Abraham.

PRAYER: Lord, I take possession of all that pertains to life and godliness as a joint heir with Christ. Amen.

QUOTE: Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.

YOU HAVE POWER OVER SIN AND SIN CONCIOUSNESS

“For sin shall no longer have dominion over you: for you are not under the law but under grace”

 Romans 6:14

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Until you know who you are in Christ, you will suffer identity crisis.

One major challenge every believer faces when he gets born again is understanding who he is and how he can overcome sin and sin consciousness. This is because in most cases, the believer is still beclouded by his experiences and lifestyle before he got born again. Often times, he gets reminded of his past and becomes depressed, doubting whether he is actually born again or not. As a believer in Christ, you must understand that the first area the devil will attack is your identity. This is where the devil starts from. Until you know who you are in Christ, you will suffer identity crisis as a believer. Once you have identity crisis, the devil would want to capitalize on it to torment and oppress yo u. Even when you pray, you are not sure whether your prayers are answered or not because you do not have the assurance of salvation. This is where your strength or weakness lies. Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:34 to awake to righteousness and sin not. This shows that what will make you not to sin is to be alive or awake to the knowledge of who you are in Christ. You must be conscious of the truth that you are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). Christ now dwells inside of you through the Holy Spirit. To awake to this reality is to defeat Satan and the power of sin.

You can now say no to the flesh and bring it under the subjection and obedience of Christ who saved you because your strength is now in the grace of God given to you: for you are now under grace. And grace gives you the ability to say no to sin. You are to glorify God with your spirit and body because you now the express image of the God-kind. So, when the devil tries to remind you of your past, you remind him of his future which is the lake of fire, and thank God for forgiving you and for the gift of righteousness to you. Never feel bad; forgetting those things which are past and pressing unto the glory ahead. Stop dwelling on your past but look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). Once your focus is right, your steps will be naturally right. You can now come boldly to the throne of grace that you might obtain mercy and find grace in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

INSTRUCTION: Know your place in redemption.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for opening the eyes of my understanding to come into the full knowledge of who I am in Christ. Help me walk in my new identity, in Jesus Name. Amen!!

QUOTE: Once your focus is right, your steps will be naturally right.

DISTINGUISHING THE OLD FROM THE NEW

All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV).

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: If it is not about Christ, it is not the gospel.

The Gospel is a message of a person. If it is not about the person of Jesus, then it is not the Gospel. The believer has no business equating godliness with material things. Jesus is our satisfaction. Godliness with contentment is great gain. It is dangerous to equate spirituality with material wealth. The moment you measure spirituality with material wealth, you become a destitute. The believer has the joy of salvation. Once you lose that joy, depression sets in. the Gospel is the message of Christ and it is the power of God unto salvation. The New Testament makes the Old Testament retired. The Bible in Hebrews 8:7-9 says, “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to lead them out of land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord”.

The ministration of the old covenant was death and the ministration of the New Testament gives life. The old covenant was life before the cross and the New covenant is life after the cross. The Law was not for the believer in Christ Jesus. It was for the sinners. The covenant in Christ predated the law. The law was an addendum to what God had already planned for man. It was an addition. Galatians 3:17;19 says, “And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect”. The old covenant was based on what you can do while the New covenant is based on what Christ has done.

INSTRUCTION: Let go of the old. Embrace the new.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for making me a partaker of the glorious gospel of Christ in Jesus Name. Amen

QUOTE: The New Covenant makes the old covenant retired.

THERE IS SO MUCH POWER AT WORK IN YOU

“Now to him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: A believer in Christ does not have a power problem.

According to our text for today, there is so much power at work in a believer. He has the tremendous ability to do exploits through the Holy Spirit indwelling in him. The believer is never powerless or helpless at any time. A believer in Christ does not have a power problem because the greater One lives in him. The Bible makes us understand that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). The greater One lives inside of you therefore, you are greater than any forces coming against you. Whatever you permit is what will be permitted and whatever you bind is what will be bound (Matthew 18:18). Your inability to exercise your authority through the lack of knowledge is the reason for your failure and frustrations in life. There is so much power available to the believer to take charge of his world. Until you take charge of your life by the power of the spirit, you cannot be in charge. The scripture says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). If Christ is in you, then it implies that there is so much power and help inside of you for everything life brings your way.

You must learn to draw strength from within you. You must be conscious and deliberate about this. You must learn to relate with the spirit of God within you for answers and solutions to all of life’s challenges. God can do exceeding abundantly above all more than you can ever ask or think because of his power that is at work in you. This power is already on your inside. Stop looking at your father, uncle, brother or any other earthly relative for help. The help you need is already in your inside. Look inside of you; you have enough power to handle whatever is coming up against you. Believe that you are a powerhouse. Believe in the ability of God on the inside of you. There is so much power inside of you. The way to release this power is by speaking God’s Word to that situation (Mark 11:24). Learn to speak spirit-filled words and faith inspired utterances as well as praying in the Holy Ghost always. As you do this, you will begin to experience the power everyday of your life. Your life will begin to go in the direction of your words. This is how to reign in life and be in charge. It is the secret of winning the battles of life and living a life of dominion here on earth as well as taking over territories.

INSTRUCTION: Stop looking at what is up against you. Look at who is inside of you.

PRAYER: Lord, I activate your power that is in my inside to rule my world, in Jesus Name.

QUOTE: Get the Word and Rule your world.

ALL THINGS ARE YOURS

Therefore, let no man glory in men. For all things are yours. Whether Paul or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; and ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s 1 Corinthians 3:21-23

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: All things are yours! Name it and claim it.

There is no limitation in the life of a believer in Christ Jesus. All things are yours!! Name it and you will claim it. Life is yours! Healing is yours!! Wealth is yours!!! All things are yours!!! Halleluiah! In the supernatural, there is no limit to what God has given to you. No man is permitted to limit you. The moment you believe the word of God which is supernatural, you step into the arena of no limitations. What you think is GOING TO BE yours is ALREADY yours. You just have to take possession of it. When darkness came to disrupt God’s plan, God did not bother about the darkness, He forced light out of the darkness (Genesis 1). So, you have the responsibility to bring out beauty out of chaos, healing out of sickness, fruitfulness out of bareness. No matter the challenge you are facing today, force it out because all things are yours!! When God speaks, He does not speak at your level; He speaks at His level. God does not talk to us based on circumstances but based on His abilities. H does not speak based on situations, He speaks based on what He can do. When you operate in the spirit, things do not move you. You must come out of the natural and move into the supernatural; come out of your feelings into the spirit realm because all things are yours. Until you go forward, Satan will not move backwards. You can only know how weak Satan is when you roar against him. As you operate in the supernatural, God does the impossible. When you connect with divinity, divinity swallows up humanity.

There is no sickness God cannot heal; no situation that God cannot change. In Matthew 19:26; Jesus said, “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible”. God wants you to believe His Word. He hates to be doubted. God wants you to trust Him. Let no man limit you. Let neither circumstance nor situation limit you for all things are yours. Everything you see in God’s Word can be yours. So, search out what you want from the scripture and take possession of it. God is bigger than that situation. Stand on the integrity of God’s Word.

INSTRUCTION: Stand on the integrity of God’s Word.

PRAYER: Lord, I take possession of all that the finished work of Christ on the Cross has accomplished for me, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

UNDERSTANDING REDEMPTION (2)

“Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow”  1 Peter 1:10-11.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross qualifies you to live the good life.

After the suffering of Christ, a life of glory ensued. You don’t need to pay any additional price to attain this life. Christ Jesus had already paid for you to enjoy this beautiful life. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross qualifies you to live the good life and be all that God wants you to be. The sacrifice of Jesus was enough. Due to that sacrifice, you have become one with God; you are now a partaker of His life and righteousness. What God expects from you now is for you to enjoy your life and live to the best of His glory. Being born again is not a call to punishment. It is a call to the good, higher life. On the Cross, before His death, Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30). He announced the end of suffering to all mankind. Anyone who believes in Him and accepts His vicarious death on the cross is automatically ushered into this life of glory. Yes, Christ suffered for us. But that suffering brought us life eternal and righteousness.

Moreover, the story didn’t end with His death. The Bible says, “Thus, it behoved Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day” (Luke 24:46). Therefore, rather than lament about His death, we are to celebrate His death and much more, celebrate His resurrection from the dead. It is His resurrection from the dead that gave us a new life and made us associates of the God-kind. God wants you to live every day in the victory of the death, burial and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ. Just as death and the grave could not hold him down, nothing from the pit of darkness should be able to exert control or influence over you. Refuse to allow anything keep you in bondage. Refuse to allow poverty take a hold on you because Jesus took your place of poverty that you have His place of riches (2 Corinthians 8:9). Whatever you could not have, be it children, jobs, breakthroughs etc, you can have them now because of the victory of Christ Jesus.

INSTRUCTION: Refuse to allow anything keep you in bondage.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross which has restored me to my life of glory, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: Glory is not feeling.

UNDERSTANDING REDEMPTION (1)

“Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow”  1 Peter 1:10-11.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The crucifixion of Christ was necessary for the salvation of men.

Our text today talks about the glory that was to follow after the crucifixion of Christ. Part of that glory is the salvation of man. The crucifixion of Christ was necessary for the salvation of man. Without the crucifixion of Christ, man’s salvation could not have been accomplished. Luke 24:46-47 says, “And he said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem”. Salvation is an all-encompassing word that encapsulates all that God wrought for us in Christ including life, health, wealth etc. he suffered for your sake. He was your substitute on that cross. He took your place that you might take His place. Your place was that of sin and death; His place was that of life and righteousness.

The Bible says, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). He was made sin for us, who knew no sin that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus did not just save you from sin. He gave you His life and nature. When you come to the realization and understanding of the importance of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, then you will appreciate his death and appropriate the benefits of salvation in your life. Today, sin and its effects and consequences have no dominion over you. You are free to serve God and to live for Him. You are now accepted in the beloved. You can now access the presence of God with boldness, all because of the sacrifice of Jesus. Man was separated from glory due to Adam’s transgression but because of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the glory has been restored. You are brought into that life of glory the moment you are born again.

INSTRUCTION: Accept what Jesus did for you on the cross.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross which has restored me to my life of glory, in Jesus Name. Amen.

THE DANGERS OF ANOTHER GOSPEL

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed Galatians 1:8

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Another gospel is called false hope.

There is only one Good News and it is that Christ died, was buried and that He rose from the dead. As a result of this, all our sins have been forgiven. Sins of the past, present and future have already been forgiven us in Christ. The word, ‘another gospel’ is from the Greek word, ‘heterous’ which means different, altered or strange message. In our text for today, Apostle Paul was speaking to the church in Galatia about the consistency of the gospel and its importance. In Galatians 1:6-7 (NLT), Paul says, “I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the GoodNews but is not the Goodnews at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ”. Any message that agitates and unsettles you is not the gospel of Christ. Another gospel makes you lose confidence, creates anxiety and panic. It changes the narrative.

The gospel is centered on Christ. The gospel of Christ is not about material things. Sin made us enemies of God. For the gospel to be good news, it must restore the relationship between man and God. And the gospel is about the forgiveness of sins. The gospel announces the grace of God (Acts 20:24). It does not need to impress people but it affects people. The gospel is about the love of God. It is the fulfilled promise of God to man.

INSTRUCTION: Focus on the gospel of Christ.

PRAYER: Father, I receive all that is packaged in the gospel, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: The Gospel does not impress people. It affects people.

PURGE YOURSELF OF SIN CONSCIOUSNESS

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more” Hebrews 8:12

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: A born again Christian is a new creature, and the new creation has no past.

It is unfortunate that too many Christians are still enslaved by the memories of their past. They are cheerful in one minute and the next minute, they are depressed because they just remembered something they did in the past. But the word of God makes us understand that the moment you got born again, your past ceased to exist. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new”. The Christian is a new creation, and the new creation has no past; he has never existed before. Your old nature, the old you and everything about your earthly, natural human life was supplanted by the very life and nature of God at the New Birth. When God looks at you, He does not see the old you, rather, He sees Christ, because you are in Christ. And in Christ, you have been made righteous. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Something so extra ordinary that Jesus accomplished for us is the remission of sins. Our sins past, present and future were remitted ever before we came into Christ. This happened legally. But we can only come into this vital experience when we are born again. So even when you remember a past mistake or misdemeanor and you feel bad and ask God to forgive you over and over again, He does not have the record; He does not even remember. Christ Jesus paid the full penalty for sin in His death on the Cross. The Bible says it was necessary that Christ should suffer for our sins (Luke 24:46) and we now walk in the newness of life. Romans 6:4 says, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life”. You are forever blameless in the sight of God, because Jesus died to “…present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight” (Colossians 1:22).

INSTRUCTION: Never be conscious of sin. It has been taken care of.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for the remission of my sins through Christ Jesus and making me blameless before you, in Jesus name!

GROW YOUR FAITH

“….according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith”   Romans 12:3

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:  Faith is the basis of our Christian walk.

As believers, we walk not by sight but by faith (2Corinthians 5:7). The Bible clearly emphasizes that without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrew 11:6). There is Christian without faith as we have all received the same measure of faith. You only need to grow your measure of faith. The Scripture reveals how we can grow great and effectual faith. First, you have to stay continually in the Word; the Word stirs faith in your spirit. “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17). The more you hear God’s Word, the more faith you will have. The less of God’s Word you hear, the less faith you will have. The less of God’s word you receive into your spirit, the less faith you will be able to express when you are faced with the challenges of life.

Your faith is also built as you consistently attend church services and fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:25). In church, you are taught the Word and also enjoy the rich fellowship of the Spirit in a way that energises your faith. The scriptures admonishes that we neglect not the fellowship of the brethren. You can also grow your faith by constantly meditating on, and putting the Word to work in your life.

Acting on the Word is faith expressed, and our faith is the victory that overcomes the world. Faith that is not expressed is faith that will not prevail. Faith must always come with a corresponding action. “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also” (James 2:26).  You must always express your faith in words and in actions. Stop complaining or crying over that situation; act on the Word! Use your faith. Jesus said if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can tell a mountain to move and it will obey you. The faith you have is enough. Do something with it. Use your faith. It is the currency for whatever you desire.

INSTRUCTION: Grow your faith by putting the faith you have into use.

PRAYER: Father, I receive eternal life and I have life in abundance, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: Faith is the currency you use to purchase in the realm of the spirit.

YOU ARE IN THE ENVIRONMENT CALLED CHRIST

“as ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him”  Colossians 2:6

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:  Faith is the basis of our walk with Christ.

We receive Christ Jesus only by faith. Faith is walking in the Word. When we walk in the Word, we are walking in Christ. Colossians 3:4 says Christ is your life; in Him you live, move and have your being. You are in the environment called Christ, and it is important that you live your life every day, conscious of this reality. Walking in Christ is beyond talking to Him in prayers when you have a need; rather, you are to have the present-hour consciousness that you are in Him, and He’s in you: you are all that He says you are, have all that He says you have, and can do all that He says you can. You must see yourself in this light and walk accordingly. You can only walk in the Light of the Lord by walking in His Word.

1 John 1:5-6 says, “this then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not know the truth”. You cannot walk in Christ and still walk in darkness at the same time. Darkness represents evil; all that limits and hinders. Jesus said, “…I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). When Christ is your new world, you experience the life of Christ everyday. You are forever victorious, prosperous, and in health. Live in the consciousness that you are a victor in Christ Jesus. When God looks at you, He doesn’t see someone that is in need of deliverance. He sees you as strong, full of the Holy Ghost and power. He sees you as more than a conqueror. You have to agree with His picture and say Yes to the picture God has about you.

INSTRUCTION: Say yes to God’s picture about you.

PRAYER: Father, I say yes to all that you have called me to be, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: A born again child of God is not in need of deliverance.

ACKNOWLEDGE THE GOOD THING IN YOU

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus Philemon 1:6

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Because you are in Christ, everything in you is good.

The word, ‘acknowledge’ is epignosis which means precise and accurate knowledge of who you are in Christ. Because you are in Christ, everything in you is good. All the faith a believer needs is already inside of him. Therefore, a believer in Christ does not have a faith problem. The believer has to participate in the working of his faith by acknowledging the good thing that is in him in Christ Jesus. All of Pauline prayer to the church was a prayer for knowledge. This knowledge is the Greek word, ‘epignosis’ which is precise and accurate knowledge and discernment (Romans 10:1). To be saved is different from participating in religious activity with a deep zeal or passion. When you are ignorant of God’s righteousness, you go about creating your own righteousness and relate with God exactly backwards (Romans 10:2 MSG). You can be full of energy and activity but until you submit to the righteousness and knowledge of God, your relationship with God is not right. Everything you will do will be exactly backwards. Salvation is entirely God’s business and it is a most flourishing business at that. But when you are ignorant of the good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus which is your salvation, you set up your own salvation shops and nosily hawk your wares. By so doing, you fall below God’s standard of salvation because you have already set up your own standard. Salvation is not about activity but about Christ.

The spirit man does not require activity but food. The food of the spirit is words. As you hear the right message about Christ, your spirit is being fed and you are strengthened with might. By feeding on God’s Word, you become aware of the riches of the glory of the inheritance in the saints. The born again man is the custodian of the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. He is the most expensive reservoir of God’s resources on the planet. All of God has been deposited in the born again man. He is the residential address of divinity. The born again man is God’s heaven. He is full of the exceeding greatness of God’s power. All of God’s power is wrought in Christ and Christ dwells in the born again man. Therefore, all of God’s power is wrought in the born again man. There is nothing newer or better than the new creation.

INSTRUCTION: Don’t seek activity. Seek productivity.

PRAYER: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Amen.

QUOTE: You are the residential address of divinity.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR DIVINE NATURE

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God Romans 8:19.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: As a believer in Christ Jesus, you are to manifest or function in the awareness or consciousness of who you are.

If you do not understand the character of God, you cannot walk in faith. Faith reveals the character of God. When you understand God’s character, you receive from God with ease. Fear is perverted faith. The reason a man is afraid is because he believes in it. Therefore, fear is contaminated faith. Your fear connects you to the object of your fear (Job 1:5). Job operated in the assumption of fear which is sin consciousness. Just as God needs your faith to function, Satan also needs your fear to operate. Jesus is God’s love dispensed to man. He is the love of God demonstrated to man.  Romans 8:32-39 says, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?; who shall lay any charge to God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

If you did not pray for God to give Jesus to you; as a believer in Christ, you have no business praying for material things. Faith is not a tool to get something from God. Faith is who we are, how we live and what we practice. When you understand what faith is, you begin to enjoy the faith life. If you must live a life of faith, you must have a robust, precise and accurate knowledge of Christ. Every operation of faith is at the instance of the knowledge of Christ. When you do not know, Satan hides behind your ignorance and manipulates, intimidates and dominates you through fear.

INSTRUCTION: Have a robust knowledge of the gospel of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, may I not pray and fast for what unbelievers do not pray to have.

QUOTE: Jesus is the demonstration of the love of God towards man.

REIGNING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” Romans 5:17

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: We can only reign through righteousness.

Righteousness is the nature of God which was imparted to your spirit when you got born again. It is a gift of God. Just as you didn’t have to do anything to be called a sinner, you don’t have to do any work to be righteous. All you have to do is to believe in the finished work of Christ on the Cross and you receive the gift of righteousness. Those who receive the gift of righteousness, according to the scriptures, shall reign in life. The Amplified Version says that they shall reign as kings in life. To reign is to exercise authority, dominion and mastery. Righteousness makes us reign in life. We can only reign through righteousness. To be righteousness conscious is to eliminate all sense of guilt, condemnation or inferiority complex. It places us above and ahead of Satan and his accusations. It also gives us the boldness and confidence to pray to God and expect answers without being afraid or ashamed before Him, because we have His righteousness.

Without an understanding of righteousness, a born again Christian cannot live victoriously over the enemy. He will still be subject to the elements of this world without having the understanding of the extent and potency of his authority in Christ. This is why a born again Christian must grow in the knowledge of God’s Word. Ephesians 4:14 says, “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”.  Also, Revelation 5:10 says, “And has made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth”. Be conscious that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. By virtue of your new life in Christ, and your position as a righteous king-priest, the whole world is subdued before you. You now have mastery over Satan and his cohorts of darkness. You are a champion for life. Hallelujah!!!

INSTRUCTION: You have been made a king. Exercise your authority and dominion.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for the gift of righteousness which made me reign here on earth, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: If you do not see it, you cannot have it.

YOU ARE A NEW MAN WITHOUT A PAST

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” 2Corinthians 5:17.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The moment you become born again, you become a new man without a past.

The death, burial and resurrection of Christ was to bring justification to man. When you believe that He died for you and that God raised Him back to life, and have confessed His Lordship over your life, you receive eternal life. Immediately, righteousness is imparted to your spirit and you are born again. You immediately become a new man without a past. The Bible records that Christ was delivered up on account of our transgressions, but was raised for our justification (Romans 4:25). Romans 5:1 says that we have been justified and have peace with God. To be justified is to be discharged and acquitted. It means not to be charged with sin and declared righteous. This is who a new man is. He is a man without any past records of sin, a man who never existed before. This is because all things have become new.

Christianity is not too complex. All that is required is that you accept what the Word says as the truth to live by, and your struggles will be over. The struggle to do right ends immediately you accept all that Christ has done for you. Suddenly, you become awakened to your spiritual realm which is the reality of your new life in Christ. This is an amazing life. You must believe that you are a new creation in Christ Jesus with no past record of sins. Believe that you have been justified, discharged and acquitted and that you are now the righteousness of God in Christ. Therefore, you have to live your life in Him through faith.

INSTRUCTION: Believe that you have been justified.

PRAYER: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: The cross is the symbol of Satan’s defeat.
