LIGHT FOR THE NOW: A believer does not pray for victory. He is already in victory.
When
you are in Christ, you live a life of victory. This is why the believer in
Christ does not pray for victory; he enforces or stands fast in the victory
given to him in Christ Jesus. A believer in Christ is born of faith and he is
called born again. So, because Jesus came out victorious on our behalf, we are
also victorious. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the
victory that overcometh the world even our faith”. Circumstances and
situations of life should not define you. Our identity is defined by the
victory established in the Word of God which is expressed in Jesus Christ. The
believer in Christ or the born again man is the man who is already a victor and
is more than a conqueror, because he is in Christ. Your present life is the
same with the current state of Christ, not as he was but, “as he is over there so are we in
this world” (1John 4:17).
This
is because we rose with Him from the dead and our life is now hid in Christ
with God (Colossians 3:1-3). We have been united and made one with Christ the
Son of God. This is the reason despite the challenges and persecution of the
church, it is still waxing stronger because the church which is you is a
triumphant and victorious church which the gates of hell shall not prevail
against. Therefore, you cannot afford to give in or give up now. Hold onto God
and believe His word, for therein is your victory made manifest.
