CHRIST IS YOUR NEW WORLD

“as ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him”  Colossians 2:6

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:  Faith is the basis of our walk with Christ.

We receive Christ Jesus only by faith. Faith is walking in the Word. When we walk in the Word, we are walking in Christ. Colossians 3:4 says Christ is your life; in Him you live, move and have your being. You are in the environment called Christ, and it is important that you live your life every day, conscious of this reality. Walking in Christ is beyond talking to Him in prayers when you have a need; rather, you are to have the present-hour consciousness that you are in Him, and He’s in you: you are all that He says you are, have all that He says you have, and can do all that He says you can. You must see yourself in this light and walk accordingly. You can only walk in the Light of the Lord by walking in His Word.

1 John 1:5-6 says, “this then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not know the truth”. You cannot walk in Christ and still walk in darkness at the same time. Darkness represents evil; all that limits and hinders. Jesus said, “…I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). When Christ is your new world, you experience the life of Christ everyday. You are forever victorious, prosperous, and in health. Live in the consciousness that you are a victor in Christ Jesus. When God looks at you, He doesn’t see someone that is in need of deliverance. He sees you as strong, full of the Holy Ghost and power. He sees you as more than a conqueror. You have to agree with His picture and say Yes to the picture God has about you.

INSTRUCTION: Say yes to God’s picture about you.

PRAYER: Father, I say yes to all that you have called me to be, in Jesus name.

QUOTE:A born again child of God is not in need of deliverance.

IT’S ALL ABOUT YOUR MIND

“And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age, and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things” Genesis 24:1

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:  If you can see it, you can have it.

It is unfortunate that there are many people who think it is okay to be poor, and that the poorer you are, the closer you are to God. This is a very twisted and erroneous belief. The truth is that God does not want His children to be poor. The poor cannot help the poor neither can they take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Gospel flies on the wings of prosperity. God spoke through the prophet in Zechariah 1:17, “…My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad”. Notice that He did not say through poverty. Never believe in poverty. It is not from God. If God truly saved your soul, which is so important, then He must have made provisions to prosper you. Salvation comes with a comprehensive package. Never believe that rich people might have a problem getting to heaven. Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon and many others in the Bible walked with God in an extraordinary manner, were rich and are all in heaven.

Some people have remained poor only because they inherited it from their minds, not because they were born poor. Poverty is not the state of your birth or absence of required necessities. Rather, it is when a man’s mind and his mental prowess have been disabled. You can only inherit poverty by thinking the way poor people think. Poverty or wealth is from inside you. That you don’t have a car or a house does not mean that you are poor. Can you see the car or house inside you? It is all about your mind. If you can see it, then you can have it. That you don’t have money in your account does not mean that you are poor.  Your status in life is not dependent on how much money you have in your account. Success or prosperity is from inside you. Based on who you are in Christ, and what you carry on your inside, whatever finances you need would come to you. Therefore, you must work on your mind to be conscious of who you are in Christ and the power you carry on your inside and command whatever you need to come to you. It is all about your mind.

INSTRUCTION:Renew your mind.

PRAYER:Lord, I renew my mind to be conscious of my personality in Christ Jesus, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE:Work on being and not on having.

GROW YOUR FAITH

“….according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith”   Romans 12:3

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:  Faith is the basis of our Christian walk.

As believers, we walk not by sight but by faith (2Corinthians 5:7). The Bible clearly emphasizes that without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrew 11:6). There is Christian without faith as we have all received the same measure of faith. You only need to grow your measure of faith. The Scripture reveals how we can grow great and effectual faith. First, you have to stay continually in the Word; the Word stirs faith in your spirit. “ Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17). The more you hear God’s Word, the more faith you will have. The less of God’s Word you hear, the less faith you will have. The less of God’s word you receive into your spirit, the less faith you will be able to express when you are faced with the challenges of life.

Your faith is also built as you consistently attend church services and fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:25). In church, you are taught the Word and also enjoy the rich fellowship of the Spirit in a way that energises your faith. The scriptures admonishes that we neglect not the fellowship of the brethren. You can also grow your faith by constantly meditating on, and putting the Word to work in your life.

Acting on the Word is faith expressed, and our faith is the victory that overcomes the world. Faith that is not expressed is faith that will not prevail. Faith must always come with a corresponding action. “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also” (James 2:26).  You must always express your faith in words and in actions. Stop complaining or crying over that situation; act on the Word! Use your faith. Jesus said if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can tell a mountain to move and it will obey you. The faith you have is enough. Do something with it. Use your faith. It is the currency for whatever you desire.

INSTRUCTION: Grow your faith by putting the faith you have into use.

PRAYER: Father, I receive eternal life and I have life in abundance, in Jesus name.

QUOTE:Faith is the currency you use to purchase in the realm of the spirit.

THE WORD OF HIS GRACE

And now brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified          Acts 20:32

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Grace is the awesome beauty of God’s character.

A careful observation of our text for today shows that we are not commended to God and to the word of his judgment or anger but rather we are commended to God and to the word of his grace. What is grace? Grace is God’s loving-kindness, unmerited favour, bestowing unconditional blessings even to the undeserving. Grace is the awesome beauty of God’s character. With Grace, it is not according to what you deserve, but according to His mercy and kindness shown to you in Christ Jesus even before the world began. The word of his grace is that you are surrounded with His love. You are the focus of God’s love. There is now no condemnation or judgment against you (Romans 8:1). The word of the law condemns; it is harsh and invokes the wrath of God. Yet, it did not make men perfect (Hebrews 7:19). The law couldn’t give life. But thanks be to God, ”For the law came by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ” (John 1:17). We are no longer under the law but under the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are being built by the word of His grace.

Therefore, you must give yourself completely to the Word of His grace, which has the power and the ability to build you up. The Word of His grace has the efficacy to make you what it talks about. Did you notice that God didn’t say that you should build yourself but that the Word will build you up? All you need to do is to digest the Word, receive the Word with gladness and learn the Word. This way, you can have the Word in you and live by it. “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” (1Timothy 4:5).

INSTRUCTION:Constantly study and meditate on the Word of His Grace.

PRAYER:Lord, I thank you for your Word which builds me up, in Jesus Name. Amen.

SAVED BY GRACE

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: No captive can bail himself. It takes only a free man to bail a captive.

Grace is the unmerited favour of God towards man. Jesus is the Grace of God. The Bible speaking in Titus 2:11 says, ‘for the grace of God hath appeared unto all men’. Jesus came to redeem all men back to God. But just as a gift cannot be yours until you accept and receive it, you cannot be saved until you believe and receive Jesus. Christ came to restore us back to our original place with God. We are no longer enemies with God. God is no longer angry with man. “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into the grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:1-2). By the death of Christ, we now have peace with God. This means that we have been united with God and now have a right standing with God. To put it simply, God is happy with you because you believe in Christ Jesus.

We are saved by grace. Salvation is a gift. You do not pay for a gift. Likewise, we didn’t have to pay for our salvation. We did not even have what it takes to pay for our salvation because we were bound men. A bond man cannot free himself. It takes only a free man to set the bond man free. Jesus set us free. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross purchased our salvation. At the cross, an exchange was made. Jesus died our death so that we could live his life on this earth. We did not have to contribute anything towards our salvation. Jesus Christ did it all. We don’t even have to confess our sins to be saved. All we need to do is to confess Jesus and be saved. In Romans 10:9-10, we read ‘that if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him up from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation’. The Grace of God brings justification. ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit’ (Romans 8:1).

INSTRUCTION: Believe in Jesus and you will be saved.

PRAYER: Lord, I believe and receive you into my life; therefore I am saved in Jesus Name.

THERE IS SO MUCH POWER AT WORK IN YOU

“Now to him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: A believer in Christ does not have a power problem.

According to our text for today, there is so much power at work in a believer. He has the tremendous ability to do exploits through the Holy Spirit indwelling in him. The believer is never powerless or helpless at any time. A believer in Christ does not have a power problem because the greater One lives in him. The Bible makes us understand that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). The greater One lives inside of you therefore, you are greater than any forces coming against you. Whatever you permit is what will be permitted and whatever you bind is what will be bound (Matthew 18:18). Your inability to exercise your authority through the lack of knowledge is the reason for your failure and frustrations in life. There is so much power available to the believer to take charge of his world. Until you take charge of your life by the power of the spirit, you cannot be in charge. The scripture says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). If Christ is in you, then it implies that there is so much power and help inside of you for everything life brings your way.

You must learn to draw strength from within you. You must be conscious and deliberate about this. You must learn to relate with the spirit of God within you for answers and solutions to all of life’s challenges. God can do exceeding abundantly above all more than you can ever ask or think because of his power that is at work in you. This power is already on your inside. Stop looking at your father, uncle, brother or any other earthly relative for help. The help you need is already in your inside. Look inside of you; you have enough power to handle whatever is coming up against you. Believe that you are a powerhouse. Believe in the ability of God on the inside of you. There is so much power inside of you. The way to release this power is by speaking God’s Word to that situation (Mark 11:24). Learn to speak spirit-filled words and faith inspired utterances as well as praying in the Holy Ghost always. As you do this, you will begin to experience the power everyday of your life. Your life will begin to go in the direction of your words. This is how to reign in life and be in charge. It is the secret of winning the battles of life and living a life of dominion here on earth as well as taking over territories.

INSTRUCTION: Stop looking at what is up against you. Look at who is inside of you.

PRAYER: Lord, I activate your power that is in my inside to rule my world, in Jesus Name.

BEHOLDING YOURSELF IN THE WORD

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” 2Corinthians 3:18

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:  If you can see it, you can have it.

When you study the Word of God, you are actually looking into the mirror of God, and you see yourself. As you study and meditate, what you see is the glory of God, and that glory is actually your true reflection. This is because God’s Word mirrors you. It shows your identity, origin, potentials and ability in Christ Jesus. When we preach the Gospel and teach others the Word, we are holding God’s mirror to them so that they can see themselves in the Word, know who they are as well as their rights and abilities in Christ. The one who hitherto thought he was unworthy and undeserving of God’s love suddenly sees that he is so loved of God. The one who thought he was condemned suddenly discovers that Christ has paid the price for his salvation, and immediately begins to walk in that light. That is the power of God’s Word. It works through the mirror principle.

The Word does not only show you who you are, it also imparts to you the ability to live accordingly. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. Notice carefully, the choice of words as inspired by the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was made sin for you that you might be made the righteousness of God in Him. This means that you have become the very expression of His righteousness. You must see yourself that way, accept it and live accordingly. Keep studying and meditating on the Word of God, for the more you do so, the more His glory is increased and revealed in, and through you.

INSTRUCTION:Let God’s Word mirror you.

PRAYER:Lord, thank you for making me the expression of your righteousness, in Jesus Name. Amen.

GOD’S WORD: A MIRROR FOR THE NEW CREATION

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” 2Corinthians 3:18.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The Word of God reflects the true nature, identity, origin and heritage of a new creation in Christ.

To the new creation, the Word of God is a mirror, and not a compilation of commandments to be obeyed. The Christian is a Word practitioner. Many Christians misunderstand Ephesians 5:3-4 which says, “But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be named amongst you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks”. This is not a commandment of what a believer must not do. Rather it is showing you who you are; the righteousness of God in Christ. The Word of God reflects the true nature, identity, origin and heritage of a new creation in Christ. The more you look at the Word, the more you see yourself. Being born again and having received the Holy Spirit, the love of God is spread abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5). We cannot be commanded to love but we are the offspring of love. Love is our nature. Whenever we read something in the New Testament that sounds like, ‘Don’t do this or don’t do that’, it means we are those who don’t do such things because it is not in our nature to do them.

The Word, particularly the Epistles paints a picture of who a new creation is. As a new creation, we naturally come to abhor what Christ abhors. If Christ abhors fornication, it comes naturally to a new creation to abhor fornication. Whatever God hates, is what a New Creation hates. You cannot love doing what God hates because as a New Creation, you are the expression of the unseen Christ, the brightness of His glory. As Christ is, so are you in this world. You are one with Christ. As you meditate on the scriptures, the Word suddenly comes alive to you and as you discover who you are in the Word, you discover you beauty and your glory increases. This is the make-up of a new creation. The life of a new creation moves from glory to glory through the Word never changing.

INSTRUCTION: Constantly meditate on the Word.

PRAYER: Lord, let your Word take root in my heart and transform my life, in Jesus Name. Amen!

YOUR LIFE IS HID IN CHRIST

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory” Colossians 3:3-4.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Once you were dead, but now you are alive in Christ.

When you get born again, Christ becomes your new life. Your life is hid with Christ in God. At new birth, you received eternal life which supplanted the old natural human life with the divine life. The life you have now is called the Higher Life, the Christ-life or the God-kind of life. Christ Jesus took the depraved, defeated and destroyed human life away from you. The life of sin, failure, defeat, sickness, rejection and shame was taken away from you, and in replacement, He gave you a life of righteousness, honour, peace and glory. Once you were dead, but now, you are alive in Christ. If Christ is your new life, it therefore means that everything about your life is Christ. If Christ cannot suffer blood diseases or any sickness, you that your life is now hid in Christ, is not permitted to suffer blood diseases or any sickness of any type. The truth is that all the problems associated with your old natural life had been taken away the moment you got born-again.

The Bible in 2Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things are become new”. The word, ‘behold’ means to see, to reckon or to think. God wants you to see yourself as a new man that you are. You are now in Christ and Christ is in you. Christ is your new world. Therefore, it does not matter what happened to you in the past, Christ in you makes you whole, well and sound. Have and walk in this consciousness. Be bold and fearless, full of faith and confidence because now that you are born again, your life is hid in Christ. Whatever cannot harm Christ cannot harm you. Hallelujah!!

INSTRUCTION:Be conscious that your life is hid in Christ.

MORAL LIFE IS NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” Romans 5:17

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: To be sincere does not mean you are righteous.

In your walk with God, you have to understand that there is a huge difference between moral life and righteousness. Sometimes, we are tempted to think that God should look at our moral life and count it for righteousness. But the truth is that no matter how good your moral life is or how sincere you are, it will never amount to righteousness. We have quite a good number of honest people who are not righteous. There are people who do not steal, tell lies, fornicate, commit adultery or perform any other immoral acts but they are not righteous. God does not hear and answer your prayers because you are sincere or have a good moral life, He answers because you are righteous because of Jesus and your righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus. The Bible says, “Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life” (Romans 5:18).

Righteousness is what gives you a right standing in the presence of God. Your moral life can never give you a right standing before God. Many people out of ignorance pray and cry to God making mention of their good moral life. This is because they are not aware of the truth of God’s Word. Never use your moral life as a currency. It is your faith – your faith in His righteousness – that produces results. Having been declared righteous, you have peace with God (Romans 5:1). This did not happen based on your moral life or personal effort. It happened because He gave you His righteousness. You cannot impress God with your good works. Jesus already impressed Him on your behalf. So, when you plead your case with God, it should not be based on your works but on the basis of your right standing with God in Christ Jesus.

INSTRUCTION:Never think you can impress God with your self-righteousness.

PRAYER:Lord, I thank you for making me righteous and giving me a right standing before God, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE:Moral life is good, but it does not guarantee eternal life.

REIGNING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” Romans 5:17

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: We can only reign through righteousness.

Righteousness is the nature of God which was imparted to your spirit when you got born again. It is a gift of God. Just as you didn’t have to do anything to be called a sinner, you don’t have to do any work to be righteous. All you have to do is to believe in the finished work of Christ on the Cross and you receive the gift of righteousness. Those who receive the gift of righteousness, according to the scriptures, shall reign in life. The Amplified Version says that they shall reign as kings in life. To reign is to exercise authority, dominion and mastery. Righteousness makes us reign in life. We can only reign through righteousness. To be righteousness conscious is to eliminate all sense of guilt, condemnation or inferiority complex. It places us above and ahead of Satan and his accusations. It also gives us the boldness and confidence to pray to God and expect answers without being afraid or ashamed before Him, because we have His righteousness.
Without an understanding of righteousness, a born again Christian cannot live victoriously over the enemy. He will still be subject to the elements of this world without having the understanding of the extent and potency of his authority in Christ. This is why a born again Christian must grow in the knowledge of God’s Word. Ephesians 4:14 says, “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”.  Also, Revelation 5:10 says, “And has made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth”. Be conscious that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. By virtue of your new life in Christ, and your position as a righteous king-priest, the whole world is subdued before you. You now have mastery over Satan and his cohorts of darkness. You are a champion for life. Hallelujah!!!

INSTRUCTION:You have been made a king. Exercise your authority and dominion.

MADE ALIVE IN CHRIST

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins” Ephesians 2:1

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The love of God is evidenced in Christ dying for us even when we are of no use to God.

The word, “quickened” in our text for today means “made alive”. “AND YOU [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1 AMP). This is a consciousness God wants us to have as His children. We have been made alive in Christ; the life of Christ is at work in your system. Every fibre of your being is inundated with the divine life and energy of God. Therefore, you are unconquerable and indestructible. Consider that Jesus Christ, the Son of God in truth, gave Himself for you on the cross and died as your savior, and that God raised Him from the dead to give you a new life. That life isn’t subject at all to defeat, failure or death. Hear what John 1:14 says about Him: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt amongst us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”. In John 10:10, He emphasized that He came so that we might have life –His divine life- to the full. He couldn’t have done all these for nothing.

Therefore, as a Christian, you must live your life to show that what Jesus did was not for nothing: live up to His dream! Jesus the creator of the whole world, the maker of all things died for you, to give you a new life which is the impregnable life of God. This is something big and glorious. He thought us valuable and important to the Father. Therefore, you are not permitted to live an empty and unhappy life. The only way to show your gratitude for all He’s done for you is to live up to His standards, by maintaining your superiority and victory over Satan and his cohorts of darkness. You are the express image of His person, called to show forth the beauty and excellence of His divine life in you.

INSTRUCTION:Believe in the finished work of Christ.

PRAYER:Father, thank you for sending Jesus to die in my stead as a demonstration of your love for me, in Jesus name.

SEE BEYOND THE ORDINARY

‘For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he’. – Proverbs 26:7

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Your thoughts are creative platform for you to see beyond the ordinary.

A man with a vision is a man with a dream. Vision is the mental picture of the future. Destiny can never be fulfilled outside vision. The size of a man’s vision determines the size of his life and destiny. Without vision, life cannot be well defined. Vision is the compass that directs you to your destination. It is not possible to experience in reality what is not available in your mentality. If it does not cross your mind, it cannot cross your life. You cannot be blessed outside what God reveals. It is what you see that guarantees your end. It is your vision that empowers you for a life of maximum impact. What you see determines your pursuit in life and your pursuits determine your achievements in life. How far you go in life is determined by how far you can see.
Time and again God has always demanded from man to see beyond his environment into the future. When Abraham’s Nephew, Lot, left him,“And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever” (Genesis 13:14-15). In chapter 15 verse 5 of Genesis, instead of God giving Abraham a son as He had promised, the Bible says, “And He brought him forth abroad, and said,  Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and He said unto him, So shall thy seed be.” This is a clear indication that God is not only interested in blessing you, but He wants you to have a better vision of His availability, and abilities and also His boundless powers to make available for you whatHe has promised. God also asked Jeremiah, “what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the LORD untome, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” It is the vision you have that brings God into action in your life.
Vision guarantees safety but lack of it is destruction (Proverbs29:18).Your visual capacity determines your usefulness in life.   What occupies your heart determines what is attracted to your life. What a man sees determines what God gives. Vision is the fuel for speed in life. Get vision for it is needful to your arrival in destiny.

INSTRUCTION:Write the vision down.

PRAYER: Lord, enlarge my positive thinking capacity, in Jesus name!

YOU HAVE POWER OVER SIN

“For sin shall no longer have dominion over you: for you are not under the law but under grace”

 Romans 6:14

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Until you know who you are in Christ, you will suffer identity crisis.

One major challenge every believer faces when he gets born again is understanding who he is and how he can overcome sin and sin consciousness. This is because in most cases, the believer is still beclouded by his experiences and lifestyle before he got born again. Often times, he gets reminded of his past and becomes depressed, doubting whether he is actually born again or not. As a believer in Christ, you must understand that the first area the devil will attack is your identity. This is where the devil starts from. Until you know who you are in Christ, you will suffer identity crisis as a believer. Once you have identity crisis, the devil would want to capitalize on it to torment and oppress you. Even when you pray, you are not sure whether your prayers are answered or not because you do not have the assurance of salvation. This is where your strength or weakness lies. Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:34 to awake to righteousness and sin not. This shows that what will make you not to sin is to be alive or awake to the knowledge of who you are in Christ. You must be conscious of the truth that you are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). Christ now dwells inside of you through the Holy Spirit. To awake to this reality is to defeat Satan and the power of sin.

You can now say no to the flesh and bring it under the subjection and obedience of Christ who saved you because your strength is now in the grace of God given to you: for you are now under grace. And grace gives you the ability to say no to sin. You are to glorify God with your spirit and body because you now the express image of the God-kind. So, when the devil tries to remind you of your past, you remind him of his future which is the lake of fire, and thank God for forgiving you and for the gift of righteousness to you. Never feel bad; forgetting those things which are past and pressing unto the glory ahead. Stop dwelling on your past but look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). Once your focus is right, your steps will be naturally right. You can now come boldly to the throne of grace that you might obtain mercy and find grace in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

INSTRUCTION: Know your place in redemption.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for opening the eyes of my understanding to come into the full knowledge of who I am in Christ. Help me walk in my new identity, in Jesus Name. Amen!!

QUOTE: Once your focus is right, your steps will be naturally right.

DON’T BE SIN CONSCIOUS (2)

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more” Hebrews 8:12

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: A born again Christian is a new creature, and the new creation has no past.

It is unfortunate that too many Christians are still enslaved by the memories of their past. They are cheerful in one minute and the next minute, they are depressed because they just remembered something they did in the past. But the word of God makes us understand that the moment you got born again, your past ceased to exist. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new”. The Christian is a new creation, and the new creation has no past; he has never existed before. Your old nature, the old you and everything about your earthly, natural human life was supplanted by the very life and nature of God at the New Birth. When God looks at you, He does not see the old you, rather, He sees Christ, because you are in Christ. And in Christ, you have been made righteous. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Something so extra ordinary that Jesus accomplished for us is the remission of sins. Our sins past, present and future were remitted ever before we came into Christ. This happened legally. But we can only come into this vital experience when we are born again. So even when you remember a past mistake or misdemeanor and you feel bad and ask God to forgive you over and over again, He does not have the record; He does not even remember. Christ Jesus paid the full penalty for sin in His death on the Cross. The Bible says it was necessary that Christ should suffer for our sins (Luke 24:46) and we now walk in the newness of life. Romans 6:4 says, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life”. You are forever blameless in the sight of God, because Jesus died to “…present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight” (Colossians 1:22).

INSTRUCTION:Never be conscious of sin. It has been taken care of.

PRAYER:Father, thank you for the remission of my sins through Christ Jesus and making me blameless before you, in Jesus name!

QUOTE:When God looks at a believer, He sees a righteous man and not a sinner.
