CHRISTIANITY – A FELLOWSHIP

“God is faithful, by whom ye are called unto the fellowship of is Son Jesus Christ our Lord” – 1Corinthians 1:9

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Christianity is not a mere religion. It is about fellowship.

Real or authentic Christianity is God alive and functioning in a human person. It is the very life of Christ in a human body; divinity at work in humanity. This is what many people have not understood about Christianity. They still see Christianity as a religion. But Christianity is not a mere religion. It is about fellowship. Christianity is about a living relationship with a living God. This is what the sacrifice of Jesus made possible for us: to have fellowship with God. This is the greatest achievement. Everything else we could ever want is in our fellowship with God. The greatest glory of Christianity is in our fellowship with God. Once you come into that relationship, everything changes for you. The sacrifice of Jesus brought us into oneness, communion, partnership, union and comradeship with the Almighty God. He died, was buried and God raised Him up with a new kind of life.

The Bible says He was “crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man” (Hebrews 2:9). He did all He did to bring us into a divine, heavenly life. Now, we are partakers of the divine nature. The Bible says He has “raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6). He brought us into Himself. Now, from Him, in Him and through Him, we are reigning in life. This is what Christianity is all about; God at work in a man. It is a call to fellowship, to oneness with divinity. You have the divine life of God at work in you and you are in an everlasting fellowship with Him. This is the real experience. He took up His abode in you for you to live in, and through Him. Get to know the reality of this relationship and live beyond the senses of Christianity as a mere religion.

INSTRUCTION: live above the sense of Christianity being a mere religion.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for bringing me into fellowship with you through Christ Jesus, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: Christianity is not a mere religion.

GO AFTER THE EXACT KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32

LIGHT FOR NOW: Your growth is tied to the knowledge of the truth that you have.

When a believer is governed by his senses, he is described as carnal and a baby. His mind is not controlled or regulated by the Word of God but by his own senses. You cannot grow in feelings and still be spiritual. When you are controlled by your senses, whatever the devil throws at you becomes effective and you can never in victory. Your daily victory and growth in life is tied to the knowledge of the truth that you have. The devil will always do his best to keep you out of knowledge. Your freedom in life is connected to the truth you know. When the truth makes you free, you are free indeed. Satan hides in the darkness of the believer’s ignorance in order to perpetuate all kinds of evil. To overcome your senses and operate in dominion, the knowledge of Christ is a necessity. You cannot know God by feelings neither do you know Him by what you see. You are not what you feel. You are what you know and believe.

It is for the purpose of knowing that God inspired the holy men to write the scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16-17). To be thoroughly furnished unto every good work is to be equipped with the right knowledge. The scriptures equip us unto every good work. You are not effective until you know. You are not perfect until you have an accurate and precise knowledge of Christ. The knowledge you have is the source of your spiritual power. The knowledge of the scripture is very important in your walk of faith. When you understand your authority, you have confidence. Your confidence is in the knowledge that you have. Without an accurate and precise knowledge of the person of Christ, you will not be able to fulfill the will of God for your life. Jesus is the perfect will of God. Until you know Christ, you cannot know the will of God.

INSTRUCTION: Get an accurate and precise knowledge of Christ.

Prayer: I am born of God. In this new year, I will show forth his praise, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: You are not an ordinary man.

THE REALITY OF GOD’S LOVE

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16

LIGHT FOR NOW:

God’s love to man is not a feeling but Christ.

The love of God is different from human’s love. Men love others based on what they can get. Men’s love is conditional, temporary and emotional. The day you stop giving them what they want, they stop loving you. The good news is that God’s love is not a feeling. God does not have reason(s) for loving us. His love for us is eternal. The love of God is not a reward for our good deeds. We do not even need to be good to earn God’s love. God did not wait for us to be good before He started loving us. He is not trying to love us, he had already loved us. That is why Romans 5:8 says “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. God had already loved us while we were still hopeless, helpless and useless. From our anchor scripture, Christ is the love of God towards man. Christ is the embodiment of God’s love. When you receive Christ, you have received God’s love. Christ is the love of God manifest, dispensed and expressed. The love of God is the sacrificial work of Christ. You can only comprehend the love of God when you are born again. This is because the day you got born-again, you conform to Christ. God becoming a man was the love of God for man. As a believer, you are in God’s love because you are in Christ and Christ is the love of God. Christ paid for us to become the beneficiaries of God’s love. The love of God is explained in the grace of God. The grace of God is the expression of God’s love. Christ is the love of God. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION:

Stay in God’s love.

PRAYER:

Father, thank you for your love towards me, in Jesus name!

QUOTE: Love does not have reason(s).

OUR SONSHIP: A PRODUCT OF GOD’S FOREKNOWLEDGE

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren” Romans 8:29

LIGHT FOR NOW:

God delivered up Jesus to men by His foreknowledge.

T

he misinterpretation of the word “predestination” always comes from unbiblical sources. A lot of people believe that whatever happens had already been designed by God and there is nothing man can do about it. There is a need to allow the scripture to speak for itself. From our key scripture, the word “foreknow” is from the Greek word “proginousko”. “Pro” means before and “ginousko” means to know. The word has been used to describe God. Romans 11:2 says “God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew”. Also, 1 Peter 1:20 says “Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you”. The same word can also be used for man. Acts 26:5 says “Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee”. Besides, 2 Peter 3:17 says “Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness”. The summary is foreknowledge. The word “foreknowledge” is from the Greek word “prognosis” which means to know beforehand and it has to do with a specific knowledge and not a general knowledge. Acts 2:23 says “Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain”. The word “determinate” is from the Greek word “horizo” which means to mark boundaries; and the word “counsel” is from the Greek word “Boule” which means a deliberate wisdom or to purpose for something. From Peter’s explanation, it means God has marked out a plan. Here, Peter was not saying two things but he was saying that the determinate counsel of God is His foreknowledge. This means by foreknowledge, God delivered up Jesus to men. The determinate counsel of God was not to make men kill Jesus but He had a motive. Yet, wicked men took advantage of what was given to them. God’s foreknowledge was not to influence man’s action. It was seen in His wisdom. The foreknowledge was just for Jesus.

INSTRUCTION:

Know that you are not born-again by accident. You are born-again according to God’s foreknowledge.

PRAYER:

Father, thank you for sending Jesus to us by your foreknowledge, in Jesus name!

QUOTE: It is God’s intention for us to become His sons.

SALVATION: A REVELATION OF GOD’S LOVE

Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you” 1 Peter 1:10

LIGHT FOR NOW:

Salvation is the love of God dispensed to humanity.

T

he love of God is revealed in salvation. Salvation is the love of God dispensed to humanity. The totality of the scriptures is salvation. Salvation is made available in a person and that person is called Christ. Salvation is only made possible by a savior. There can be no salvation without a savior. The savior is doing the work of saving. 1 Timothy 4:10 says “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the savior of all men, specially of those that believe”. The word “savior” is from the Greek word “soter” which means the one who preserves.  The word “savior” had been used before Christ to mean those who conquered territories. A savior protects from dangers, harms and evils. The arrival of Jesus into our life is the arrival of everything because all of God is in Christ and all of Christ is in us. You cannot have salvation outside the person of Christ because Christ is the expression and the embodiment of God’s love. Salvation is the action which the savior came to carry out. To save a man, God had to walk out of His realm. He became a man to save man. Divinity took up humanity through virginity in order to save us from our iniquities. God’s love towards a man is not in things but it is the salvation of our souls. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION:

Always remember the love of God towards humanity.

PRAYER:

Father, thank you for the salvation of my soul, in Jesus name!

QUOTE: Salvation is the action while the savior is the actor.

WE REIGN AND RULE BY THE WORD

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ – Romans 5:17

LIGHT FOR NOW: You must see the invisible in order to achieve the impossible.

Christianity is a life of champions. A born again Christian is not designed to fail. No matter what you go through in life, failure is not an option. It is not a possibility unless you let it. As long as you choose to win, as long as you choose to succeed; as long as you choose victory, that is what you will have. All you need to do is to set your heart on the Word of God. You must see the invisible in order to achieve the impossible. Men who see the invisible always achieve the impossible. When your focus is on God and on His Word, you do not see shadows. You see and hear Him only, and nothing else matters. With the Word in you, you just know you are different, and that circumstances and situations will always turn out in your favour. This is because you are special and a peculiar kind of person. You are not of this world. You are not from the lineage of the earthly man. You are a new creation, a new kind of man (2Corinthians 5:17). You are an associate of the God-kind. But if you don’t know it, you will suffer identity crisis. You will live a beggarly life, whereas you are a king-priest, a prince of power with God. Kings don’t beg.

When you know the Word, you are able to walk in your inheritance, rights and privileges in Christ. You enjoy the greater glories and treasures of Christ. What has kept many bound and hindered them from walking in the riches of the glory of their inheritance in Christ is ignorance. Therefore, you must refuse to be ignorant. You must study and know the scriptures for yourself. Study and meditate until the Word gains ascendency into your spirit-man, instilling a new mindset. That way, irrespective of the challenges and adversities, you will respond with the Word. And when you respond with the Word, you win!!! That is how champions live. They live in and by the Word. They reign and rule by the Word!!! Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Reign with and by the Word.

PRAYER: Lord, I choose to see the invisible. Therefore I achieve the impossible , in Jesus Name.  Amen.

POWER TO REIGN IN HIS NAME

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth’ go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Matthew 28:18-19

LIGHT FOR NOW: All power, not some power has been given to Jesus.

Power here is the Greek word, ‘exousia’ which means authority. All power, not some power has been given to Jesus, in heaven and on earth. The Bible says in Colossians 2:15, “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly triumphing over them in it”. When Jesus died, He didn’t ascend to heaven immediately. He had been made sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21), and had to go to hell on behalf of all men. When He got to hell, there was an actual combat between Jesus and the forces of darkness. The Bible says, “…the hostile princes and rulers He shook off from Himself and marched them naked on the streets” (Colossians 2:15 MSG). You do not march a man naked on the streets unless you have conquered him. In hell, Jesus invaded Satan’s domain, whipped him and all his demons, and came out triumphantly from the grave. When He came out, He said to his disciples, ‘All Hail’. This was a shout of victory, because He had conquered Satan for us and given us dominion over the powers of darkness.

Jesus says, “Behold, I give unto you power to thread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). The power to rule and reign in His Name has been handed over to us. We must therefore be conscious of our authority and dominion in Christ Jesus. Jesus did not take the power He collected from Satan to heaven. He handed it over to us. We must therefore use this power to subdue territories and kingdoms. We have the power to reign and rule in His Name.

INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge that you have the power over Satan and circumstances.

PRAYER: I am born of God; therefore I overcome the world, in Jesus Name. Amen.

THE IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING THE TRUTH

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32

LIGHT FOR NOW: Your knowledge of the Truth determines your audacity.

Truth, in the kingdom of God has nothing to do with physical manifestations or sensory perceptions. Moreover, truth is different from fact. The fact could be that you do not have money in your bank account, but it is not true that you are poor. You are not poor. You are only broke. To be broke is to be temporary out of money. Your experiences especially when they do not measure up to new creation realities aren’t “Truth”. They are mere shadows or pictures which the devil use to instil fear and unbelief in you so that he can use your fear to gain access to you and cause them to manifest. When you say that you are sick, you have uttered a lie, because the truth is that a new creation cannot be sick. The Bible records in 1 Peter 1:23 that a new creation was not redeemed by any corruptible seed but by the precious blood of Jesus. At new birth, your blood line was changed. Therefore, as a new creation, you are not permitted to suffer any blood disease.

Discover the truth of God’s Word concerning your health, finances, family, job, business and other areas of your life and boldly declare the same truth in agreement with God. The Holy Spirit unveils the truth of God’s Word to your spirit, enlightening the eyes of your understanding to know the hope of His calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Your victory is determined by your knowledge of the truth. Being saved is not enough; you must come into the knowledge of the truth. Your victory in life is connected to the knowledge of Christ that you have. It is the truth that makes men free. The Truth is a person and that person is Christ. The more of Jesus you know, the more you are exposed to the truth. When you are out of the truth, you get closer to Satan. To overcome Satan, you must know the Truth. Without the knowledge of the Truth, you will struggle in your faith life because you do not have an assurance of your salvation.

INSTRUCTION: Get to know the Truth

PRAYER: I am what the Word says I am, I have what the Word says I have, in Jesus Name. Amen!!

QUOTE: Once the truth is received, deception loses all its power. Satan loses all his power when we know the truth.

THERE IS SO MUCH POWER AT WORK IN YOU (2)

“…According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness – 2 Peter 2:3

LIGHT FOR NOW: You have the power to do the unthinkable, the unimaginable and the impossible.

All that you have, and have been made in Christ Jesus, are the results of His divine ability, and not yours. There is nothing you can do for yourself to become heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ. You could never on your own become more than a conqueror, a victor and an overcomer in life. But His divine power at work in you made all these possible. You can now live and walk in this glorious life. Since all that you are, all that you have and all that God did for you in Christ are as a result of His divine power, it means there is nothing missing in your life. This is because the power that wrought these things is perfect and unlimited. No wonder the Bible says we are complete in Christ. There is nothing missing in your health, in your finances, in your job etc. everything about your life is perfect.

Also, apart from granting us all that we require for life and godliness through his divine power at work in us, God also granted us the same power to live by, by giving us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, who is the power of God, and by whom all things were made lives in you. Acts 1:8 says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you”. Power is the dynamic ability to cause changes. So, like Him, you can do anything. He has given you the divine ability to sustain your life. You can change hopeless situations; you can cause water to spring out of the desert; you have no right to live that hopeless situation the way you met it. There is so much power at work in you. You have the ability to deliver excellence in every task or assignment that is committed to you. You have the power to do the unimaginable, the unthinkable, and the impossible.

INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge the power at work in you.

PRAYER: Because Christ lives in me, I have the power to do the unimaginable, the unthinkable and the impossible, in Jesus Name. Amen.

THERE IS SO MUCH POWER AT WORK IN YOU (1)

“Now to him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)

LIGHT FOR NOW: A believer in Christ does not have a power problem.

According to our text for today, there is so much power at work in a believer. He has the tremendous ability to do exploits through the Holy Spirit indwelling in him. The believer is never powerless or helpless at any time. A believer in Christ does not have a power problem because the greater One lives in him. The Bible makes us understand that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). The greater One lives inside of you therefore, you are greater than any forces coming against you. Whatever you permit is what will be permitted and whatever you bind is what will be bound (Matthew 18:18). Your inability to exercise your authority through the lack of knowledge is the reason for your failure and frustrations in life. There is so much power available to the believer to take charge of his world. Until you take charge of your life by the power of the spirit, you cannot be in charge. The scripture says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). If Christ is in you, then it implies that there is so much power and help inside of you for everything life brings your way.

You must learn to draw strength from within you. You must be conscious and deliberate about this. You must learn to relate with the spirit of God within you for answers and solutions to all of life’s challenges. God can do exceeding abundantly above all more than you can ever ask or think because of his power that is at work in you. This power is already on your inside. Stop looking at your father, uncle, brother or any other earthly relative for help. The help you need is already in your inside. Look inside of you; you have enough power to handle whatever is coming up against you. Believe that you are a powerhouse. Believe in the ability of God on the inside of you. There is so much power inside of you. The way to release this power is by speaking God’s Word to that situation (Mark 11:24). Learn to speak spirit-filled words and faith inspired utterances as well as praying in the Holy Ghost always. As you do this, you will begin to experience the power everyday of your life. Your life will begin to go in the direction of your words. This is how to reign in life and be in charge. It is the secret of winning the battles of life and living a life of dominion here on earth as well as taking over territories.

INSTRUCTION: Stop looking at what is up against you. Look at who is inside of you.

PRAYER: Lord, I activate your power that is in my inside to rule my world, in Jesus Name.

QUOTE: Get the Word and Rule your world.

SEEING YOURSELF IN GOD'S WORD

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” 2Corinthians 3:18

LIGHT FOR NOW:  If you can see it, you can have it.

When you study the Word of God, you are actually looking into the mirror of God, and you see yourself. As you study and meditate, what you see is the glory of God, and that glory is actually your true reflection. This is because God’s Word mirrors you. It shows your identity, origin, potentials and ability in Christ Jesus. When we preach the Gospel and teach others the Word, we are holding God’s mirror to them so that they can see themselves in the Word, know who they are as well as their rights and abilities in Christ. The one who hitherto thought he was unworthy and undeserving of God’s love suddenly sees that he is so loved of God. The one who thought he was condemned suddenly discovers that Christ has paid the price for his salvation, and immediately begins to walk in that light. That is the power of God’s Word. It works through the mirror principle.

The Word does not only show you who you are, it also imparts to you the ability to live accordingly. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. Notice carefully, the choice of words as inspired by the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was made sin for you that you might be made the righteousness of God in Him. This means that you have become the very expression of His righteousness. You must see yourself that way, accept it and live accordingly. Keep studying and meditating on the Word of God, for the more you do so, the more His glory is increased and revealed in, and through you.

INSTRUCTION:Let God’s Word mirror you.

PRAYER:Lord, thank you for making me the expression of your righteousness, in Jesus Name. Amen.

NO SUPERSTITIONS

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new – 2 Corinthians 5:17

LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus is the gift of righteousness to the believer.

It is important for the believer to know who he is in Christ. A lack of understanding of his identity causes the believer to live in a perpetual fear of the unknown. This is the reason the believer must know, walk, and live by the knowledge (epignosis) of God. Jesus is the revelation knowledge of God. You cannot know God until you know Jesus. Jesus is the revelation of God. He is the express image of God. To know God, you must know Jesus (John 1:18). To declare is to share an experience that you are a part of. Jesus is the expositor of the Old Testament scriptures concerning the character and wonders of God. Everything put in the Old Testament was only a shadow of things to come. As believers, we are encouraged to follow only the faith of the people in the Old Testament and not the people themselves. The righteousness of the Prophets of old was in their faith. But the righteousness of Jesus was in His conduct and in Himself. Jesus is the gift of righteousness to the believer (Ephesians 2:8).

Superstition is a make believe in ignorance. It is to believe in what has never existed (Job 42:5-6). Superstition is gotten from the Hebrew word, ‘shema’ which means rumours. Any believer who knows God only by rumours will always see God in a bad light. There is a need to know that a believer in Christ has no issues with generational curses. Every visitation of God comes with redemption and not punishment (Luke 1:68). When God in Exodus 20:5 says He would visit the sins of the fathers upon the children unto generations, He did not mean he will punish the children for the sins of their fathers. To visit is to attend to, to care for. Therefore, what God meant was that He will take care of; attend to the iniquities of the fathers and not that He will punish the children for the sins of their fathers. God does not remember the sins of the believer in Christ. To arrive in Christ is to have forgiveness of sins.

INSTRUCTION: Never know God based on rumors. Get an accurate knowledge of God.

Prayer:  Lord, I thank you for the revelation knowledge made available to me, in Jesus Name!

WE HAVE BEEN UNITED WITH GOD

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” – Romans 5:1

LIGHT FOR NOW: God had to step out of God and come to man in order to bring man back to Himself.

By Adam’s disobedience, man became alienated from God. He became an enemy to God. Having peace with God became a major problem of man. Man became carnal having separated from God “Because the carnal man is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be” (Romans 8:7). So it was difficult for God to get a man of faith per time and without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Although Chapter 11 of the Book of Hebrews gives an idea of some persons who had a dimension of peace with God by their personal faith in God; God had to step out of God and come to man in order to bring man back to Himself. Man did not have what it takes to go to God; Salvation is all about God coming to man. Today, we have been united collectively with God because we are of the same body called the Body of Christ. The enmity between God and man was collective in Adam, because in Adam, all sinned and came short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

Ephesians 2:11-12 says, “Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; that at that time ye were without God in this terrible world, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world”. This shows the helplessness and hopelessness of man. Man was in such a terrible state. But verses 13 to 16 of that scripture show the dimensional shift brought about by Christ. They read, “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For He is our peace, who hath made us one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself twain one new man, so making peace”. Therefore, you have no reason not to enjoy the peace of God. Christ has reconciled us back to God. He has made us one and united with God. No more condemnation; no more charges. Praise the Lord!!!

INSTRUCTION: Enjoy the peace made available to you in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for reconciling me back to you through Christ Jesus, in Jesus Name. Amen.

THE PRICE HAS BEEN PAID

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: By the sacrifice of Jesus, you have been made righteous.

Jesus paid the price at the cross for your sins. His blood was all that was required. At death, Jesus’ body died but His soul and spirit rose again. At resurrection, he rose with a new body. This is why he appeared physically to His disciples and showed them the new body. The death of Christ brought about the redemption of man. Paul addressing believers states in 2 Corinthians 5:21, “ For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. Remember that, “the soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him” (Ezekiel 18:20). That was the verdict. Justice demanded that man should die for his sin. There was no room for mercy; neither was there any provision for substitution. A son was not permitted to die for the father’s sin and vice versa. In Romans 6:23, Paul says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. So, by the sacrifice of Jesus, you have been made righteous. Christ substituted Himself for you by accepting to bear your sins and consequently died in your stead. Righteousness is not purchasable but receivable. It is a gift from God.

There is no resurrection without death and there could be no death without sin. Jesus willingly accepted your sins. He bore the sins and died for the whole world. He knew that He had conquered death. This is why He told Martha, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25). Everyone who believes in Christ should be eternally grateful to Him. Through the redemption that Christ wrought for you, you have been completely delivered from the hand of the enemy. The sacrifice of His blood was the ultimate price. The thickness of His blood did not just cover your sins but completely wiped it away from the eternal record of death. YOU HAVE BEEN JUSTIFIED

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” – Romans 5:1

LIGHT FOR NOW: Now that you have been justified, you have no record of sin.

To be justified is to be discharged and acquitted. It is to declared not guilty and have a right standing with God. To be justified is to be united, to be in union with God. This means that we are no longer enemies to God. Christ was made to be sin for us. David spoke about Christ and gave a good report about Him (Hebrews 11:23). In Christ, we have been declared free and acquitted. The Old Covenant scolds, exposes and institutes all forms of legislations. The old covenant was anti-human. In the New Covenant, there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Hebrews 8:10 says, “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more”. This simply means that you have been found not guilty and discharged and acquitted. You do not have any record of sin anymore. It will therefore be a serious violation of agreement and gross injustice to repeat a punishment that was already put on someone.

Life is now strictly based on faith in Christ. Faith in the finished work of Christ is what makes life beautiful. Jesus is not just sitting on the mercy seat, He is the Mercy Seat.  The confession and belief that Christ was raised from the dead is what guarantees your redemption and it is your redemption that guarantees your justification. The work is grace is possible only because Christ made Himself available. Until your belief system is established in Christ, you cannot be justified. Therefore, you need to have an honest belief in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

INSTRUCTION: Believe in Christ and you are justified.

PRAYER: I am in Him justified and He is in me glorified, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: Until you are justified, you cannot be glorified.

YOU HAVE BEEN RECONCILED

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, ho walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit – Romans 8:1

LIGHT FOR NOW: We have now come into at-one-ment with God through Christ.

We have been reconciled back or united with God through Christ. We are no longer enemies of God. We have now come into at-one-ment with God through Christ. Condemnation is a legal word used in passing verdict. It means to be damned. To be condemned is to be judged as guilty. It is to be sentenced to serve the required punishment as written in the law. When we come into Christ, we have passed from judgment. The moment you arrive in Christ, you have been passed from judgment; you become translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. You have been declared right and not guilty. Jesus brought righteousness. Through righteousness, justification was imputed on all men who believe in Him.

Righteousness is the state of being right. It is to be treated as someone who has not done any wrong. If you have received Christ, then you must live your real life which is a life with a not-guilty verdict. Righteousness is not an act; it is a gift. No man can earn it. Just as you don’t have to pay for a gift; you cannot pay to earn righteousness. Righteousness is not given because one stops doing something wrong but because he has believed the gospel. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation. When you receive the gospel; you receive the power that saves you and keeps you saved (Romans 1:16). There can be no salvation without the gospel. The gospel is the good news because it tells about the remission of sins. The gospel brings the gift of no condemnation into your life.

INSTRUCTION: Stay Justified.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for reconciling me back to you through Christ Jesus , in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: No condemnation. You have been declared right.

YOU ARE SIN-FREE

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” Hebrews 1:3

LIGHT FOR NOW:

Christ has paid for our sins; there is no need to doubt.

T

he word “purged” means to clear out. The same word is also used for remission which means to take away or remove. Friends, our sins have been cleared out, taken away and removed forever. When sins are purged, such record does not exist anymore. Hebrews 8:12 says “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more”. A believer in Christ does not have past records. Sin is not the problem of the church but sin consciousness. Hebrews 9:14 says “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Daily confession of sins does not stop sin. Hebrews 10:1-2(NLT) says “The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshippers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.” To confess sin is to approve sin, live in sin and become sin. When a guilty man has been punished, he is no longer guilty. Christ has been punished for our sins. Therefore, we cannot be punished again. God, based on the sacrifice of Jesus, has justified us freely. He has redeemed us from the law of sin and death. The sin of Adam corrupted man and the entire planet. So God could not use anything to redeem man except Himself (John 1:14 &18). Christ became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God through Him. The sacrifice of Jesus is the only answer to sin consciousness; it is the reason for our right standing with God, and it is the gift of God to us (Ephesians 2:8-9). Righteousness is by faith (believing) and it is a gift. Jesus is our Advocate – speaking to God on our behalf. He is our helper who stands and speaks for us. His birth was a manifest of what was spoken (Matthew 1:21-23). Sin can never stand between God and a believer in Christ. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Purge your conscience. Your sins have been paid for.

PRAYER: I am the righteousness of God through Christ

QUOTE: You confess Christ to be saved and not sins.

NO MORE CONDEMNATION!

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit” Romans 8:1

LIGHT FOR NOW:

Once you arrive in Christ, you have escaped judgment.

T

he word “condemnation” is a legal term used for passing verdict. The same word is also used for damnation. The word “condemnation” is actually a judgment and it is a sentence to serve the required punishment as written in the law. Once you arrive in Christ, you have escaped the white throne judgment. It is only your services to God here on earth that will be tried, and rewards given accordingly. Jesus went to Hell on our behalf in order to redeem us from it. He was judged, discharged and acquitted on our behalf. Romans 5:17-18 says “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life”. Until you understand the word of God about salvation, you would not think in the direction of God. By Adam’s disobedience, sin came into the world and by the obedience of Christ; righteousness came to all that believe in Christ. It is the righteousness of Christ that frees men from sin and condemnation. Righteousness is a state of being right or being treated as someone who has never committed any sin. If that is how God sees us and relates with us, we must stop acting as criminals. He didn’t save us to leave us. Righteousness is not an act but a gift. It was not given to us because we stopped doing wrongs. Once you discover God’s system, your life will be right. The gospel brings the gift of no condemnation into our life. That is the good news!

INSTRUCTION:

Stay in the liberty that Christ has given you.

PRAYER:

Lord, I am free from condemnation, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: Once you discover God’s system, your life will be right.

OVERCOMING ACCUSATIONS

“And I heard a loud voice in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night” – Revelation 12:10

LIGHT FOR NOW: Accusation is an everyday affair

To accuse is to lay blame with the intention of having one sentenced to punishment. It is to charge someone with an offence. The word, ‘to accuse’ is gotten from the Greek word, ‘kategoros’ which means to prosecute. Accusation is a verbal attack. It works through the avenue of spoken words. Accusation always works via spoken words; words spoken on a note of finality to cause judgment. The word, ‘accuser’ which is ‘diabolos’ is the name given to the devil. An accuser is someone who is diabolic, being slanderous, brings charges for the purpose of bringing down or destroying another person; someone who opposes God’s purpose. It is critical to unmask the spirit behind accusation. Accusation is a major way Satan uses to put the believer on the defense so he can always take advantage of him. Through accusations, a believer becomes weighed down. In our world today, accusation is an everyday affair. The spirit of accusation is fault-finding. Accusation will never cease and this is why a believer needs to know how to deal with accusations.

A believer must know that the accuser has no authority over his life (Luke 11:21-22). The devil can never condemn a believer. He can only accuse him expecting the believer to give in to the accusations. The aim of every accusation is to bring condemnation. Therefore, a believer in Christ must learn to assure his heart in order to be able to overcome the feelings of accusations. A believer’s freedom in Christ will be tampered with if he does not have the full knowledge of his salvation in Christ. Growing into maturity in spiritual things is not the work of the Spirit, but the personal commitment and responsibility of the believer.

INSTRUCTION: Constantly assure your heart in the knowledge of your salvation in Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I overcome all evil accusation by the knowledge of my salvation, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: it is not God’s intention to prove Himself.
