“Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become
new – 2 Corinthians 5:17
LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus is the gift of righteousness to the believer.
It is important for the believer to know who he is in Christ.
A lack of understanding of his identity causes the believer to live in a
perpetual fear of the unknown. This is the reason the believer must know, walk,
and live by the knowledge (epignosis) of God. Jesus is the revelation knowledge
of God. You cannot know God until you know Jesus. Jesus is the revelation of
God. He is the express image of God. To know God, you must know Jesus (John
1:18). To declare is to share an experience that you are a part of. Jesus is
the expositor of the Old Testament scriptures concerning the character and
wonders of God. Everything put in the Old Testament was only a shadow of things
to come. As believers, we are encouraged to follow only the faith of the people
in the Old Testament and not the people themselves. The righteousness of the
Prophets of old was in their faith. But the righteousness of Jesus was in His
conduct and in Himself. Jesus is the gift of righteousness to the believer
(Ephesians 2:8).
Superstition is a make believe in ignorance. It is to believe
in what has never existed (Job 42:5-6). Superstition is gotten from the Hebrew
word, ‘shema’ which means rumours. Any believer who knows God only by rumours
will always see God in a bad light. There is a need to know that a believer in
Christ has no issues with generational curses. Every visitation of God comes
with redemption and not punishment (Luke 1:68). When God in Exodus 20:5 says He
would visit the sins of the fathers upon the children unto generations, He did
not mean he will punish the children for the sins of their fathers. To visit is
to attend to, to care for. Therefore, what God meant was that He will take care
of; attend to the iniquities of the fathers and not that He will punish the
children for the sins of their fathers. God does not remember the sins of the
believer in Christ. To arrive in Christ is to have forgiveness of sins.
INSTRUCTION: Never know God based on rumors. Get an accurate knowledge of God.
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for the revelation knowledge made available to me, in Jesus Name!
QUOTE: To arrive in Christ is to have forgiveness of sins.
