AUTHORITY IN THE NAME

“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightening fall from heaven” Luke10:17-18.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: All authority in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth has been given to Jesus.

Every family and person on earth answers to their name. A name is a major means of identification in human affairs. Certain families have been noted for a track record of their achievements. Once the name of such families is mentioned, descendants of such families tend to enjoy the benefits of the name. In spite of this, no notable or personal family name can redeem the souls of its members or the person bearing it. The only name that can save is the name of Jesus. 

For all those who believe in the name of Jesus shall not be put to shame but shall walk in victory. The seventy disciples returned and gave a report of how the demons were subject to them through the name of Jesus. This means that whatever victory you need in life is enshrined in the name of Jesus. Philippians 2:9-10 says, ‘Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth’.

 We can only be saved through the name of Jesus. Acts 4:12 says, ‘neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved’. Even prosperity is only in the name of Jesus. The devil does not have anything to give. If he did, he wouldn’t seek to steal. True prosperity answers to the name of Jesus. No matter what you need in life, all you need is the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus has moved from being just letters to being an authority. 

The name of the resurrected Jesus is an office and an authority. You cannot call on the name of Jesus in the knowledge that it is an office and situations remain the same. There is no negotiation once the name of the resurrected Christ is mentioned. Demons have no other option than to flee. John 1:12 says, ‘But to many that received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name’. Are you sick in your body, call on the name of Jesus

INSTRUCTION: Call the name of Jesus in the consciousness of His authority

PRAYER:  Lord, in your name I walk in authority and dominion, in Jesus name!
