YOU ARE PARTAKERS OF THE GLORY (2)

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentile; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” – Colossians  1:27

LIGHT FOR NOW: Salvation is the work of God all by Himself.

The Apostle Paul became a prisoner of the gospel of Christ. He revealed the mysteries as concerning Christ. Paul disrupted the Jewish tradition and presented Christ in such a way that the Gentiles were no longer strangers to the glory that was freely made available. The inheritance of the promise is no longer by fulfilling the law but by faith. It is by faith that we share in the fulfillment of the promise and not by the law (John 14:15-17). A believer in Christ Jesus is a replica of God having been produced by the genetic make-up of God. A born again man is like the wind. He cannot be predicted. The Holy Spirit is the right shepherd that takes the believer to the right pasture. We share in the glory of God. We have the same authority and power He has. As He is, so are we in this world.

He is our High Priest and we are His priests. He is the King of kings and we are kings. He redeemed us unto Himself as kings and priests. If you are a believer in Christ, a new unique identity has been apportioned to you. You have to recognize your identity and enforce it in order to do exploit. You do not need to do anything special to be spirit filled. All you need to do is to believe. The moment you believe, Christ comes into your heart and makes your heart His dwelling place. You need to understand his ability to communicate and share fellowship with you.

INSTRUCTION: Stand firm in your salvation.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for making me a partaker of your glory, in Jesus Name. Amen
QUOTE: He lives in you.

YOU ARE PARTAKERS OF THE GLORY (1)

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” – Colossians 1:27

LIGHT FOR NOW: Christ in you is the hope of glory.

The mystery behind every believer is Christ in him, which is the hope of glory. In other words, once you receive Christ into your life, you become a carrier of God’s glory. The strength of the Christian faith is Christ in him. Our text for today tells us that when Christ lives in a man, he becomes a partaker of God’s glory. So, a believer in Christ Jesus does not hope for the worst in life. No! The hope of every believer is glorious. Hallelujah! What defines your hope is not any kind of situation or condition you are facing, but Christ does.

Remember that Christ Jesus was reproached so that you might be glorified. You must be consistent in what you are hoping for. Hope is the confident expectation of something. The Bible records in Romans 5:18 that Abraham “against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken”. Also, Apostle Paul in Romans 5:2 says, “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God”. When Christ is not the hope of your glory, you may easily be distracted by the greed for material things. And when your expectations are not met, you may become depressed. In the contrary, when you focus on Christ and not on material things, the joy of the Lord becomes your strength. Hallelujah!!!

INSTRUCTION: Let your hope be in Christ.

PRAYER: I am in Him justified and He is in me glorified, in Jesus Name.
QUOTE: Glory is not a feeling, but tangible.

THE HELP OF GOD (3)

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth” – Psalm 121:1-2

LIGHT FOR NOW: Whatever controls your heart controls your life.

The throne of God is the heart of man. This is because God’s dealing with man is through his spirit which controls the heart. This is the reason the first place the devil attacks in a man is his belief system which happens in his heart, and makes the spirit man unsure  and uncertain. What Satan does is to create a doubt in your heart about God and what God says, and when you believe Satan, you sin by disobedience. Whatever controls your heart controls your life. Anything your heart enthrones will rule and lord over you. This is why the greatest battle of life is the battle of the mind. The first point of salvation is repentance. To repent means to change your mind; it means to change your thinking. Therefore, right hearing brings right knowledge; right knowledge brings right thinking, right thinking brings right living and right living brings right results.
When you want God to be the source of your help, you must allow God to preside over your heart, and let the love of God be shed abroad in your heart by the spirit of God. quote Matt. 15:8 and 12:35

INSTRUCTION: Enforce the victory handed over to you in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Father, I have absolute confidence and trust in you as my help and stay. I will look unto you and my face will not be ashamed, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: right hearing brings right knowledge; right knowledge brings right thinking, right thinking brings right living and right living brings right results.

THE HELP OF GOD (2)

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth” – Psalm 121:1-2

LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus is the help of God to man.

The help of God is one of the most sustaining force of God to man. Every man is nothing or can do nothing except by the help of God. This is why the Psalmist resolved in our text for today to look unto the Lord, where his help comes from. In John 15:5, Jesus says, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me, ye can do nothing”. This is to say that Jesus is the source of our help. Jesus is the help of God to man. Apostle Paul in Acts 26:22 acknowledged the help of God towards his ministry. He says, “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come”. This means that Paul’s ministry was fulfilled by the help of God. The help of God is the combination of the mercy and grace of God given to man. This is why the writer of Hebrews says in Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace in time of need”.

To come boldly to the throne of Grace is to come with the heart free from condemnation. Come as you are without any pretense. In John 3:20-21, Apostle John told us, “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then we have confidence towards God”. This confidence is what makes you to come boldly to God to obtain mercy and find grace in time of need. In the New Testament, the throne of God where we go to for mercy is our hearts. The heart of man is the throne of God. This is the reason we need to assure our hearts. This is why the first point the devil attacks in the life of a believer is his belief system.  He creates doubts in your heart. When you assure your heart, you become impenetrable to Satan.

INSTRUCTION: Assure your heart in the salvation handed over to you in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, my heart is eternally focused on the help of God, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: if you have anything to doubt, doubt your doubts

THE HELP OF GOD (1)

‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth’ – Psalm 121:1-2

LIGHT FOR NOW: Vain is help of man.

The help of God is the guarantee for one’s life success and greatness. The strength and ability of man are determined by the help of God available to him. The help of God makes a man do the unusual and the extra-ordinary. Man’s strength and capabilities may fail but the help of God cannot fail. It is dependable, reliable, trustworthy and sufficient. This is why the Psalmist said he will look unto the Lord where his help comes from. In whatever you do in life, you must learn to trust in God for help for vain is the help of man. A man can only help you to the extent of his abilities. But the help of God is all sufficient. When your strength and abilities fail you, the Holy Spirit who is your Help and is resident in you takes over to help you stand.

Jesus said I will not leave you comfortless, but I will send you another Comforter/Helper who will abide with you, teach you all things and guide you into all truth. As a believer in Christ, you must depend on Him and His ability to help you in every area of your life. Engage the help of God. Never depend on any man. If God doesn’t lead a man to help you, he can’t help you. Instead of looking unto a man for help, engage in prayers and see the wonders of the divine help of God in the remaining days of this year and throughout the coming years.

INSTRUCTION: Never look up to a man for help. Engage the help of God.

PRAYER: Lord, as I look unto you for help, may I not be ashamed, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: The help of God is dependable and all sufficient.

THE GREATER ONE LIVES IN YOU

…For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring – Acts 17:28

LIGHT FOR NOW: You are the temple of the living God; He lives and walks in you.

Being born again, the Almighty God lives and walks in you, through the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 2:16 says, “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people”. This is neither an assumption nor a promise. You are the temple of the living God; He lives and walks in you. As a born again believer in Christ, you are the mobile headquarters of divinity. God dwells in your inside. Everywhere you go, He goes. This is your guarantee of a life of greatness, dominion, excellence, health and unending victories: Christ in you (Colossians 1:27). The greater one lives in you.

Because He lives in you, you are not trying to overcome; you have already overcome all things. The Bible records in 1 John 4:4, ”ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”. It is about the Greater One that lives in you. That is the assurance that you need that you will forever be successful, and walk in His glory.

INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge that the greater one lives in you.

PRAYER: Lord, in you I live, and move, and have my being, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: You are the mobile headquarters of divinity.

THE MYSTERY OF HIS BIRTH

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” 1 Timothy 3:16

LIGHT FOR NOW:  The godliness of Christ will forever remain a mystery to the devil.

The birth of Christ is a mystery that can never be demystified by the devil. How divinity was packaged into humanity and manifested as flesh and blood remains something the devil cannot fathom or handle. Man had lost his place in the divine affairs because he had mortgaged the authority of his creation. What he was meant to rule over and have dominion over began to rule and have dominion over him. Man lost his original place and position. But thanks be to God, the position that man lost in the garden of Eden, God recovered it through the birth of Christ. For God to access the earth and have fellowship with man, He needed to become flesh mysteriously. God had to step out of God in order to bring man back into fellowship.

The birth of Christ began the process of reconciliation; bringing man back to his original place in God. God outplayed Satan when Jesus Christ came into the world in the flesh. It remains a mystery to Satan how God became man and man became God. God gave Satan a technical knockout through the birth of Christ.  Satan never believed that he would face God in a man. When you receive Christ into your life, you became a walking God. The headquarters of divinity is relocated to your inside. You are God walking in the flesh controlling the affairs and situations of life. As a believer in Christ, you become a mystery to the devil the moment you are born again. Satan has no right to predict you. Just as no one can predict the wind, that is how you are. You are unpredictable and unstoppable. Hallelujah!!!

INSTRUCTION: Celebrate His Birth, Celebrate His Lordship in your life.

PRAYER: Father, i thank you for the gift of your son to restore me back to original place of dominion, in Jesus Name. Amen

QUOTE: Until Christ is born in you, you will keep burning in crisis.

IT’S A SEASON OF GOODNEWS

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people” Luke 2:10

LIGHT FOR NOW:  The birth of Jesus is the assurance of all good things.

It’s a season of love, but most importantly, it’s a season of good news. The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son….” Jesus is the expression of the love of God towards man. The arrival of Jesus paved the way for the good news in the lives of all believers. The birth of Jesus is the assurance of all good things. This is the undeniable truth!!! Jesus is the reason for the hope of the believers today.

The purpose of the birth of Christ was to bring good news to families. This good news has nothing to do with your educational qualifications, your status, size nor your background but it has everything to do with Christ. For the gift of salvation has appeared to all men. You do not have to work hard to earn this good news. It is part of your Bill of Rights as a believer in Christ. It was this good news that put Nazareth, a small and obscure town in the map of Jerusalem. Citizens, friends and partners, we have to be conscious of the fact that Jesus Christ is the good news. If you do not have Him, then good news is far from you. The purpose of the good news is to give believers hope.

INSTRUCTION: Spread the good news about the love of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, may the good news about your birth resonate in every area of my lif , in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: Without Christ in your life, you are far from goodnews.

SEEING YOURSELF IN GOD'S WORD

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” 2Corinthians 3:18

LIGHT FOR NOW:  If you can see it, you can have it.

When you study the Word of God, you are actually looking into the mirror of God, and you see yourself. As you study and meditate, what you see is the glory of God, and that glory is actually your true reflection. This is because God’s Word mirrors you. It shows your identity, origin, potentials and ability in Christ Jesus. When we preach the Gospel and teach others the Word, we are holding God’s mirror to them so that they can see themselves in the Word, know who they are as well as their rights and abilities in Christ. The one who hitherto thought he was unworthy and undeserving of God’s love suddenly sees that he is so loved of God. The one who thought he was condemned suddenly discovers that Christ has paid the price for his salvation, and immediately begins to walk in that light. That is the power of God’s Word. It works through the mirror principle.

The Word does not only show you who you are, it also imparts to you the ability to live accordingly. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. Notice carefully, the choice of words as inspired by the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was made sin for you that you might be made the righteousness of God in Him. This means that you have become the very expression of His righteousness. You must see yourself that way, accept it and live accordingly. Keep studying and meditating on the Word of God, for the more you do so, the more His glory is increased and revealed in, and through you.

INSTRUCTION:Let God’s Word mirror you.

PRAYER:Lord, thank you for making me the expression of your righteousness, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE:Work on being and not on having.

WE ARE COMPLETE IN CHRIST

“…And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power

Colossians 2:20

LIGHT FOR NOW: You are the temple of the living God; He lives and walks in you.

As a born again believer in Christ, when you received the Holy Spirit, you received the fullness of God. There is nothing of God that is supposed to be in you that is not already in you. This is makes you unconquerable. You are not a mere man. Your humanity was supplanted by the very life and nature of God. As a believer in Christ, you have advantage over the prophets in the Old Testament because you have what they never had: the capacity to house the Holy Spirit. You are God’s living tabernacle; when you move, that is the Spirit of God moving in you. Your hands have become His Hands, and your fingers, His fingers. You have become immersed in Him and He dwells in you. God sees through your eyes, talks through your mouth, and moves with your body. God touches lives and impacts the world through you. There is nothing lacking in a born again man. You are complete and perfected in Him.

The Bible says in John 1:16, “of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace”. As a believer in Christ, you have received in all fullness, everything that’s of deity in Christ Jesus. This is not just in measure, but also in the quality of life available in Him. You have received what ever that makes God to be God. You have all of His glory, might, strength and wisdom. You represent everything that God represents. You have been made an associate of the God-kind. No wonder Apostle John in 1John 4:17 says, “…as he is, so are we in this world”.

INSTRUCTION: be conscious that you are complete in Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for making me a carrier and dispenser of your glory, wisdom and might, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

GROW IN FAITH BY KNOWLEDGE

“And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32

Light for now: What you know determines your action

Spiritual things are not emotional.  As a born again child of God (Son) according to John 1: 12, you must grow above feeling into faith. You cannot function in faith when you are using your senses and feeling. A Christian is described as carnal when the feeling takes the place of your action (1 Cor. 3:1-9). When a believer receives the knowledge of the truth, it is an indication that you are growing in spiritual things. This is a good thing in the sight of Lord our Saviour (1 Timothy2:3-4). God’s desire is for all men to be saved and not to remain in being saved (being born again) alone but to come to the knowledge of the truth. For our victory as believers is knowledge, our faith is in knowledge and our salvation is in knowledge. The knowledge of the truth is in the gospel (good news) about Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection and ascension. Jesus is the truth according to John 1:17. The more you know Jesus Christ, the more you are exposed to the truth. You don’t know God by feelings, you only know God by His words.

You are not what you feel but you are what you know and what you believe. It was by knowing that the Holy men were inspired to write the scripture (2 Timothy 3:16). It is the word of God that equipped a believer (2 Timothy 3:7) says “Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of truth”, so don’t remain on learning and never able to come to the knowledge of truth. To overcome your senses, grow in the knowledge for it is the Word of God that brings a believer to good works. The Word of God which is a source of spiritual power requires to effect good works which will produce good communication of the good thing of Christ in you according to Philemon 1:6. Therefore, without an understanding of your identity in Christ Jesus, we will not be effective in fulfilling of His words here on earth.

Instruction: To overcome your senses, grow in the knowledge of the gospel (good news).

Prayer: Lord, I receive understanding of what your finished work on the cross has done for me, in Jesus Name, Amen.

Quote: Faith by knowledge determines your action which leads to victory.

CHRIST: THE FULFILMENT OF GOD’S PROMISE TO ABRAHAM

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” - Galatians 3:13-14

LIGHT FOR NOW: The blessing of Abraham is not a material thing, but salvation.

The true seed of Abraham was not Isaac but Christ. If Isaac was killed by Abraham, the divine purpose would have been thwarted. This is because Isaac was not the Lamb of God. From our anchor scripture above, the blessing of Abraham here is not a material thing, but it is salvation. Salvation is faith in Christ, and once you have your faith in Christ, your sins are remitted (Luke 1:77). This is the blessing of Abraham and it is not fault-finding. The arrival of the new covenant made the first one obsolete. Hebrews 18:13 says “In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away”. No believer is expected to live in the Old Testament. Romans 10:4 says “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth”. There was no Old Testament in the beginning. Old Testament did not even start in Egypt, but it started after the children of Israel had left Egypt. Hence, the law was not strong enough to cancel the promise of God to Abraham. Galatians 3:17 says “And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect”. Where a believer is, the law of Moses is not effective. The blessing of Abraham is Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:16 says “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ”.

Christ as the fulfilled promise of God, and the blessing of Abraham, affects the entire human race irrespective of one’s nationality. As the Savior of the world, anyone who receives Him is a partaker of the blessing.  Yes, believers in Christ are the true sons of God (John 1:12)!

INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge Christ as the fulfillment of God’s promise to us.

PRAYER: Father, I receive all that Christ had paid for, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: The promise of God to Abraham was Christ.

THE WORD IS A LIFE-GIVER

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever” – 1 Peter 1:23

LIGHT FOR NOW:  The word gives life.

The Word of God is the food of the believer. The believer needs the word for his spirit man to grow. Just as the physical body needs food to grow, the spirit man also needs spiritual word which is the word of God in order to grow (1Peter 2:2). The Word of God gives life. It is the truth that the born again man is born of the seed of God which is the word of faith. When a man hears the gospel of salvation and believes, he becomes born of the word. Our text for today says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever”. This means that a born again man is born of the incorruptible seed which is the word of God. In Luke 8:11, Jesus said, “….The seed is the word of God”.

The word, seed, as used in our text for today is the Hebrew word, ‘sperma’, from which the English word, ‘sperm’ is derived. It is a life giving seed. This shows that the word of God gives life when it is received. The Word of God is spirit and they are life.  In John 6:63, Jesus says, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profited nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”.

INSTRUCTION: Receive the Word, receive life.

PRAYER: Father, I receive grace to continually feed on your word, to grow and enjoy my inheritance in Christ, in Jesus Name. Amen.

THERE IS POWER IN YOUR WORDS

“Through faith we understand that the world was framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” – Hebrews 11:3

LIGHT FOR NOW: We are to speak the Word, God brings it into fulfillment.

Through faith, we understand that everything came into being by the Word of God. To understand this is to have the express knowledge of the realm from which you operate. The World was framed by words (John 1:1). Everything that was made was made by words (Genesis 1:26). Every action taken is an expression of the word. Words are the media of expression of what is conceived in the heart. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. And the word is in your mouth. In jurisprudence, words are used to pass judgment.  Recall that, after creation, God did not give out names to animals and vegetations. Rather, He empowered Adam to do so and whatever name Adam called is what they answer till today (Genesis 2:19). Our faith can only be professed through words (Genesis 3:15). Words have a creative force.

Man would not embrace the faith if they were not spoken by Christ Himself and the prophets. We only know because knowledge was declared and communicated to us through the use of words (1John 5:20). We are products of the Word. We are born again by the Word of God (1Peter 1:23). The Word of God is the Word of everlasting life. We believe that we are the righteousness of God because it was spoken and written down for our edification.

INSTRUCTION: Speak the word. It is in your mouth.

PRAYER: Father, help me speak positive words into my life, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: Words have creative force.

MADE ALIVE IN CHRIST

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins” Ephesians 2:1

LIGHT FOR NOW: The love of God is evidenced in Christ dying for us even when we are of no use to God.

The word, “quickened” in our text for today means “made alive”. “AND YOU [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1 AMP). This is a consciousness God wants us to have as His children. We have been made alive in Christ; the life of Christ is at work in your system. Every fibre of your being is inundated with the divine life and energy of God. Therefore, you are unconquerable and indestructible. Consider that Jesus Christ, the Son of God in truth, gave Himself for you on the cross and died as your savior, and that God raised Him from the dead to give you a new life. That life isn’t subject at all to defeat, failure or death. Hear what John 1:14 says about Him: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt amongst us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”. In John 10:10, He emphasized that He came so that we might have life –His divine life- to the full. He couldn’t have done all these for nothing.

Therefore, as a Christian, you must live your life to show that what Jesus did was not for nothing: live up to His dream! Jesus the creator of the whole world, the maker of all things died for you, to give you a new life which is the impregnable life of God. This is something big and glorious. He thought us valuable and important to the Father. Therefore, you are not permitted to live an empty and unhappy life. The only way to show your gratitude for all He’s done for you is to live up to His standards, by maintaining your superiority and victory over Satan and his cohorts of darkness. You are the express image of His person, called to show forth the beauty and excellence of His divine life in you.

INSTRUCTION: Believe in the finished work of Christ.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for sending Jesus to die in my stead as a demonstration of your love for me, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: When you show up, Jesus shows up.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR DIVINE NATURE

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God Romans 8:19.

LIGHT FOR NOW: As a believer in Christ Jesus, you are to manifest or function in the awareness or consciousness of who you are.

If you do not understand the character of God, you cannot walk in faith. Faith reveals the character of God. When you understand God’s character, you receive from God with ease. Fear is perverted faith. The reason a man is afraid is because he believes in it. Therefore, fear is contaminated faith. Your fear connects you to the object of your fear (Job 1:5). Job operated in the assumption of fear which is sin consciousness. Just as God needs your faith to function, Satan also needs your fear to operate. Jesus is God’s love dispensed to man. He is the love of God demonstrated to man.  Romans 8:32-39 says, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?; who shall lay any charge to God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

If you did not pray for God to give Jesus to you; as a believer in Christ, you have no business praying for material things. Faith is not a tool to get something from God. Faith is who we are, how we live and what we practice. When you understand what faith is, you begin to enjoy the faith life. If you must live a life of faith, you must have a robust, precise and accurate knowledge of Christ. Every operation of faith is at the instance of the knowledge of Christ. When you do not know, Satan hides behind your ignorance and manipulates, intimidates and dominates you through fear.

INSTRUCTION: Have a robust knowledge of the gospel of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, may I not pray and fast for what unbelievers do not pray to have.

QUOTE: Jesus is the demonstration of the love of God towards man.

REIGNING WITH CHRIST

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ – Romans 5:17

LIGHT FOR NOW: As a believer in Christ Jesus, you have been empowered to reign in life.

Everyone who is in Christ Jesus is designed to reign in this life and in the life to come. This is the original plan of God for the believer. In Genesis 1:28-30 after God created Adam, He blessed man and gave man charge and dominion over His entire creation; to reign and have dominion over all things. When Adam sinned by disobedience, man died and the entire creation became cursed. In Romans 3:23, the Bible says, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. It is the glory of God in a man that makes him to reign in life. Man therefore lost the glory of God and automatically lost his place of dominion. Christ Jesus was raised from the dead by the Spirit of Glory, unto glory to restore us back to the glory of God so that we can reign with Him by grace and righteousness.

As believers, we are entitled to and we have received the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign with Christ in the heavenlies. Once you rule in that realm, the earth is under your feet and you can decide what happens here on the earth. You become in charge of your life and decide what happens to you and what does not happen to you. According to Apostle Paul in Ephesians 1:16-22, God through His mighty power raised Christ Jesus from the dead and set him at his right hand in the heavenlies and has put all things under Him: both things in heaven, things on earth and things beneath the earth.  And the Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:6 that God raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus to reign with Him. As a believer in Christ Jesus, you have been empowered to reign alongside Christ.

INSTRUCTION: Rule your world. You have been empowered.

PRAYER: Lord, I enforce my reigning in life in Christ Jesus, in Jesus Name.  Amen.

QUOTE: To reign is to be in charge

YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER IN CHRIST

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world; and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith”

1 John 5:4

LIGHT FOR NOW: You can only overcome when you believe.

Our faith (belief) is the victory that we have overcome the world. This faith is not for breakthrough but it is faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. We have forgiveness of sin by the price Jesus paid on the cross. A person whose sins has been forgiven is an overcomer. He is not about to be forgiven but he has been forgiven already. Forgiveness of sins was before the foundation of the world. Redemption was God’s plan for man before the world began. The Bible in Revelations 13:8 says, “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world”. This means that we are not about to be forgiven but we have been forgiven already. As believers in Christ, we must walk in this consciousness that we are overcomers. As believers in Christ, we are a special class of people. 1 Peter 2:9 tells us that, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people that ye should shew forth the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light”.

God’s forgiveness to us was clothed in love, mercies and kindness. This is why as believers, we must reconcile men to God through Christ in love and kindness and not in condemnation. Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. Believers whose sins have been forgiven have that boldness to overcome situations and circumstances. The boldness of every believer is in the knowledge that he has no record of sin. A believer is not looking for victory but rather, he is victory personified.

INSTRUCTION: Enjoy all that pertains to life and godliness. It’s already paid for.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for making me an overcomer in Christ, in Jesus Name.

QUOTE: You are victory personified.

WALKING IN VICTORY

“But thanks be unto God, which giveth us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” –

LIGHT FOR NOW: A believer does not pray for victory. He is already in victory.

When you are in Christ, you live a life of victory. This is why the believer in Christ does not pray for victory; he enforces or stands fast in the victory given to him in Christ Jesus. A believer in Christ is born of faith and he is called born again. So, because Jesus came out victorious on our behalf, we are also victorious. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our faith”. Circumstances and situations of life should not define you. Our identity is defined by the victory established in the Word of God which is expressed in Jesus Christ. The believer in Christ or the born again man is the man who is already a victor and is more than a conqueror, because he is in Christ. Your present life is the same with the current state of Christ, not as he was but, “as he is over there so are we in this world” (1John 4:17).

This is because we rose with Him from the dead and our life is now hid in Christ with God (Colossians 3:1-3). We have been united and made one with Christ the Son of God. This is the reason despite the challenges and persecution of the church, it is still waxing stronger because the church which is you is a triumphant and victorious church which the gates of hell shall not prevail against. Therefore, you cannot afford to give in or give up now. Hold onto God and believe His word, for therein is your victory made manifest.

INSTRUCTION: Enforce the victory handed over to you in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, I enforce my victory, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: A believer in Christ walks in constant victory.
