FREEDOM IS IN CHRIST

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” Romans 5:17.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The basis of our deliverance is the suffering of Christ.

Without sin, there would be no death. The message of Christ is the message of freedom from sin and death. The state of being free from sin is salvation. The devil cannot have access to our life without sin. Jesus removed sin from our lives through the sacrifice on the cross. This brought us freedom from sin and death. Christ did not just save you, He keeps you saved. God is saving those who are believers for resurrection in salvation. It is part of our rights as believers in Christ Jesus to have forgiveness of sins. Salvation in Christ protects us from the wrath of God. God shows us His kindness only in Christ. The Book of Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. As believers, we must see ourselves in the mirror of Christ. The deliverance power of God was evident in the life of Paul and Silas when they were thrown into the prison for preaching the gospel and sentenced to death the following day. God by His supernatural power and commitment to saving His own, brought them out from prison mysteriously unhurt (Acts 16:23-26).

Beloved, God did not call us to kill us. He did not save us to slay us; rather, He called us to keep us. You cannot be serving God and still be afflicted at the same time. It is abominable to redemption to live in afflictions and miseries as a redeemed child of God. How did Jesus deal with sin? Hebrews 2:14-15 (NLT) tells us that, “Because God’s children are human beings – made of flesh and blood- the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying”. Satan uses fear to bring death and he does that by creating bad pictures in your mind and makes you believe they are real. As a believer in Christ Jesus, you must rebuke the bad circumstances created by the devil (Matthew 8:26; Mark 4:40). As a believer in Christ, you have what it takes to handle matters of life. You have the authority to stop the operations of the devil in your life. The basis of our deliverance is the suffering of Christ. Jesus made the devil ineffective, invalid and inoperative (Colossians 2:15). Therefore, when you meet with bad situations, enforce your redemption. Create whatever you desire in your mind, declare it and don’t stop saying it until you take your victory. If you are in Christ, you are a co-creator. Create your world with your words.

THE WORD IS GOD

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:  The personality of eternal life is the Word of God (Jesus Christ).

Eternal life is real and sure. Eternal life is not an event but it is a person. The personality of eternal life is the Word of God (Jesus Christ). Jesus must take resident inside of you. The devil cannot take the personal encounter you have with the Word of God (Jesus Christ) away from you. It is Jesus that gives eternal life (Matthew 4:4). Nothing can function outside the Word of God. When you are a carrier of the Word of God, the Word of God inside of you produces tangible results. Even in periods of economic meltdown, the Word

The word ‘justified’ is a legal word (Romans 8:33). It means to be put right with God. Scripture is Christ centered. The foundation of Christianity is doctrine. We are to know the scriptures otherwise salvation will not benefit us. What you know will always make the difference. It is what you know that distinguishes you from the crowd. Until you know who you are in Christ via the scriptures, you will not be able to exercise the authority and dominion that has been given to you. It is the knowledge that you have about Christ via the scriptures that makes you live a life of dominion here on earth.  God is accessed only through knowledge. When you pray outside knowledge, you cannot get results. Any prayer based on the standpoint of knowledge is the prayer that brings results. Prayer is taking God’s word back to God for results. When you are not equipped with the knowledge of the word of God, you can’t pray the right prayer and you will never get the required results.

THE MAKING OF A NEW MAN

    

“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make the wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be thoroughly furnished unto all good works” 2Timothy 3:15-17

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The raw material required to make a new man is the Holy Scriptures.

Scriptures are sacred writings that reveals the thought of God to man. The thought of God which is Christ is revealed as the content of a new man. In the making of a new man, the only raw material required is the Holy Scriptures. The only content of the Holy Scriptures is Christ. It is Christ as the content of the raw material (Holy Scriptures) that now makes a new man wise unto salvation. This wisdom is Christ replicating Himself in a new man via the person’s belief. When the belief is established via wisdom, the new man will then begin to profit. As a new man, you will no longer be the one to lead yourself, rather your new content which is Christ will begin to teach the truth, rebuke you when you err, corrects your faults and gives you instructions for right living so that you will be fully equipped and qualified as a son to do all kinds of good works.

The scripture is what forms our belief system. Scripture is the foundation of our spiritual maturity (Romans 1:1-3). Scripture is not given to be memorized but to be understood (Luke 24:25-27; 45). You are not powerful until you come into the knowledge of Christ. The need of a believer is the need of knowledge. Quoting scriptures does not guarantee success but understanding the scriptures does. Scriptures are not meant for stories and they do not give life but they teach everything about life (John 5:39). The Bible is the manual that explains Jesus. Scripture is Christ centered. We are to know the scriptures otherwise salvation will not benefit us. It is what you know that distinguishes you from the crowd. Until you know who you are in Christ via the scriptures, you will not be able to exercise the authority and dominion that has been given to you. It is the knowledge that you have about Christ via the scriptures that makes you live a life of dominion here on earth because everyman is an evidence of his content, and what you are made of, is what you manifest.

SATAN IS YOUR CAPTIVE

        

“And on that cross, Christ freed himself from the power of the spiritual rulers and authorities; he made a public spectacle of them by leading them as captives in his victory procession” Colossians 2:15 GNT

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The cross remains the symbol of Satan’s defeat.

The resurrection of Christ from the dead was the greatest event of eternity. The cross remains a symbol of Satan’s defeat. Jesus Christ died, was buried and he rose again. He conquered hell and stripped Satan of all his sham authority. Jesus got back the dominion that Satan took from man at the fall of Adam. You died with Christ; was crucified with him and rose again with him. You were with him in that victory over Satan. It was your victory not His. He did not need to fight that battle, but he fought it for you. Just as Jesus conquered Satan, you too can do it. You have gained mastery over the works of the devil. The resurrection of Jesus was the end of the era of defeat and a new era of victory. You need to understand what Christ did for us and what it means to be identified with him. It’s time to appreciate the position in which he has placed us and the authority he has given us in His name.

The provisions of your victory are beyond just being declared a winner. Jesus defeated Satan and made us righteous victors. By that defeat, he made us kings to reign in the realm of life where Satan can no longer be lord over us and where disease is under our feet. We are New Creation Sons and all things are ours (1Corinthians 3:21). We are victorious. We are not trying to be victorious but we have already been declared victorious. This means that we are fighting that battle already from the victory point. If God can not suffer defeat, we cannot suffer defeat. Victory is ours because of our position in Christ Jesus and Satan remains a captive forever.

INSTRUCTION: Stay victorious above the devil.

PRAYER:  Lord, I declare Satan helpless in my case, in Jesus name!

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

   

“For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gifts, to the end ye may be established” Romans 1:11.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: A new creature lives a life of impact.

Establishment comes when a man receives an impartation. Impartation cannot establish a man who is not ready to make a difference. A new creation is God in a man. Of all that God created, a new creation is the greatest (John 1:14). You cannot be profitable until you locate the realm of the new creation. You must understand who you are in Christ before you are able to impart your generation. There is no profitability outside Christ. Everything is packaged in him. “For in Him you live, move and have your being” (Acts 17:28). What produces a child of God is spirit and spirit cannot be restricted (John 3:6). New creation is God becoming a man and a man becoming God. In all God has created, we are the latest. As a new creation, we are created to impact our generation. The spirit of God that dwells in us at new birth is what empowers us to live an overcoming life. If God cannot fail, then a new man in Christ cannot fail. Failure is not in the DNA of God. As much as Jesus Christ came into the world and the world has not recovered, we are to impact our world. As new creatures, we are not permitted to leave that situation the same way we met it. We are to settle matters.

The Spirit of God is Christ living inside of you. If Christ cannot be limited, you are not permitted to be limited. If Christ does not need deliverance, any person who is born again does not need deliverance because there is no difference between Christ and anyone who is in Christ. You cannot be possessed except you are not born again. You are a new creation and everything that you need to impact your generation has been deposited into you. Therefore, let this mind be in you that you are created for impact. The world is waiting for your manifestation. “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God” (Romans 8:19).

YOU ARE FREE FROM THE SCHOOL MASTER

“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a school master”-Galatians 24-25

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The Law was a shadow of the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

The duty of a wicked school master is to point errors but can never make you free from error. The law could not help man to be righteous before God. It rather exposed the weakness of man to man and constantly made man know that he is unworthy by reminding him his sins. When Adam sinned in the garden, he turned his back on God. He consciously submitted himself under the authority of Satan. By disobedience, his nature was changed and he became separated from God. Consequently, all men were counted as sinners. Thus, the scripture says, “By one man’s disobedience many were made sinners” (Romans 5:19). In effect, “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”(Romans 3:23). This means that everybody right from birth has the sinful nature of Adam. It is the law that exposed the sinful of man. It is through the introduction of the law that man came to know that he was weak and therefore in need of a savior. The law simply pointed man to Christ, the savior of the world. The wickedness of the law limited man but the righteousness of grace liberated man.

Adam disobeyed God but Jesus Christ obeyed God. The obedience of Christ completely nullified the effects of the disobedience of Adam. According to Romans 5:19,“So by the obedience of one, shall many be made righteous”. Jesus Christ is this person the Bible is referring to. Apostle John clearly identifies him in John 1:17 when he wrote, “The law was given by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus”. Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law. Hence, the no believer in Christ is under the Law. A new man in Christ is not subject to the law. The word, ‘propitiate’, as recorded in Rom.3:24-25 means to appease or make peace with someone. In this context, Jesus being our propitiation means that by his sacrifice at the cross, he appeased God on our behalf. The sacrifice of Jesus brought man back to God and the school master lost his job in your life. Jesus Christ brought a peaceful relationship between God and man. Romans 5:1 say, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Law no longer has a hold on us. Halleluiah!!

INSTRUCTION: Run from law; embrace grace.

THE WORD IS IN YOUR MOUTH: SPEAK IT

  

“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith which we preach” Romans 10:8.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Men who speak word of faith in their situation can never sink with that situation in this world

The Word of God is the bedrock for the force of faith. Words are containers of spiritual forces. When you release positive words, situations change for the better. Anytime you want to enter a new level, words are needed to push you there. When you speak faith into any situation, that situation can never remain the same. The way you react to God’s Word matters a lot. If you must overcome the challenges of life, you must learn to always respond in faith to God’s word. You must learn to function in the arena of faith where the only thing that matters is the Word of God. No matter the storms of life, you must always speak positive words for when men say there is a casting down, you shall say there is a lifting up (Job 22:29). 

As a believer, you must consciously speak life into any situation you find yourself for the words we speak are spirit and they are life (John6:63). Never allow your physical senses (what you see, feel, or hear) determine the circumstances of your existence.  2Corinthians 4:8 says, “While we look not at things that are seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Life exists in the realm of speaking the word. You cannot take anything in the realm of the spirit without your faith. Faith is speakable. Prayer is taking God’s word back to Him for an answer. Thus, faith is the Word of God. You can overcome the battles of life through speaking faith. Therefore, you must hold fast to your confession of faith. Ephesians 6:16 says, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

”Faith shields you from all evil enchantments. But if you don’t speak it, remain a victim.When you believe right, you speak right and achieve the right results. Never allow the circumstances of life make you confess negatively for your words are the compass of your life. Speak life right now to that dead situations for the word is nigh thy mouth!

INSTRUCTION: Use the word in your mouth.

PRAYER:  Lord, I command situations to change, in Jesus name!

DON’T BE ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith” Romans 1:16-17.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Men of faith are not ashamed of the gospel of faith.

Being ashamed of the gospel is you rejecting the gospel of faith in the face of terrible situations. If your life is empty, you can use faith to create whatever you need. Faith is one of the strongest weapons that every believer should have. Faith does not negotiate issues with Satan it demands change especially when a man who is not ashamed of the gospel shows up. Nothing can say no to faith (Mark 11:22-23). 

Faith controls all the activities of God. Faith reveals God, proves God and announces God. The law of faith controls the physical and the spiritual. Faith is the spiritual currency you use to purchase in the realms of the spirit. If you are not ashamed of the gospel of faith you will control all activities of God here on earth. Your life will remain helpless until faith is engaged (Mark 9:23). Matters that concern destinies are not solved by emotional tears but by actions. God will only act when you react. Emotional tear is you being ashamed of the gospel; it does not change anything.

No matter how spiritual you may be, if you are not bold, you will be bent by the devil. Faith is a force and power that keeps all matters in place. Gospel of faith is not a gentle man in the house; it is a rugged unashamed man on the move. When your faith is up, you cannot be down in life. The fight of faith is the fight of victory. 

Those who are not ashamed socially fights in the public. So also those who are not ashamed of the gospel of faith in the spiritual public fight to get what they want. The fight of faith will always bring a good report in life. It guarantees your inheritance. You cannot possess what is yours without a fight. When you want to take what is yours and the devil tries to stop you, you engage the fight of faith by your declarations.

 Faith is like a stubborn bull dog that does not leave a bone the same way he met it until he crushes it and reduces it to nothing. There is no other way to fight in life than to fight the good fight of faith. Many confess faith but only a few contend with it. When a man walks in faith, no other force on earth can stop him. One passionate move by a man who is not ashamed of the gospel of faith brings eternal change to his life and world.

INSTRUCTION: Stop being ashamed of the gospel.                                      

PRAYER:  Lord, I activate the boldness in me for the gospel, in Jesus name!

THE SAVING FAITH

“Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, in thee shall all nations be blessed” Galatians 3:6-8.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Jesus is everything we need but it takes faith in Him to be saved.

According to today’s text, Abraham released faith in the gospel and he was saved. The only thing that saves a man is faith in the gospel. The gospel was given as a promise by God through the prophets and the prophets wrote them down in the scriptures. The promise was then fulfilled on the day of resurrection. Romans 1:1-5 says, “PAUL, a servant of Jesus Christ called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (which he had promised afore by his prophets in the Holy scriptures) concerning his son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; and declared to be the son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead”. The resurrection of Jesus is proof that the promise has been fulfilled. Paul also explained that Christ was raised from the dead so we can be free (justified), discharged and acquitted (Romans 4:25; Romans 8:32). To be saved you need to believe the gospel

One gospel message preached and received by faith guarantees victory to the saving of souls. Romans5:1 says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”The gospel brings you into faith in Christ. Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Faith in Christ is faith in the gospel of Christ and it is also faith in the resurrection. It is the same faith for salvation. The gospel is the reason we gather in church. It is only the gospel that can save. Paul spoke about Jesus being declared the son of God with power by resurrection from the dead. The power of God is the gospel. If it is not the gospel, then it’s not the power of God. Where you find the gospel, you find power. The saving faith is you believing in the finished work of Christ at the cross: do you believe

GRACE APPROVED YOU

“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”

Romans 3:24.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Those who are in Christ can never be condemned.

A man who is redeemed is not condemned. Redemption is a death to life experience. It is the guarantee from condemnation. Romans 8:1 say, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit”. Even at the fall of man, God never cursed man because man is redeemable by nature rather, he cursed the ground (Genesis 3:17). Man had the nature of God at work in him. The nature of God is eternal life and eternal life cannot be judged. Eternal life is the life of God in a man. This eternal life was sent in the person of Jesus (John 17:3). 

Eternal life is transferable from Christ only to those who believe in Him. “For whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:17). The confession and belief that Christ was raised up from the dead is what moves a man from death to eternal life. “For if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9). For you to pass from death to life, you need to have an honest belief in the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus. It is in these that you are redeemed and it is this redemption that guarantees your justification.

The work of Grace is possible only because Christ made Himself available. But this work of Grace is only effective and activated when your belief is in place. You cannot be justified by grace until you believe in the capacity of that grace to justify you. The grace to justify is available for all men (Titus 2:11). But it takes only an honest belief in the birth, suffering, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the wonders of that grace to be activated in you. Until your belief system is established in Christ, you cannot be justified by grace.

INSTRUCTION: Stay in the grace that found you.

PRAYER:  Lord, I maximise the grace made available for me in Christ, in Jesus name!

YOU ARE BORN OF THE WORD

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever” 1Peter 1:23.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: A new creation is the product of the Word and not gold or silver.

A new creation is made of the Word and redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus. Peter speaking in 1Peter 1:18-25 says, “For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot…Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God which liveth and abideth forever”. 

A new creation is made a product of sperm, blood or the will of man, but of God (John 1:13-14). It is that same Word that became flesh and dwelt among men. Jesus Christ is that Word. Christ is a product of the spoken word (Genesis 1:3; John 1:1).  There is no difference between a new creation and Christ. Both are products of the Word. The power that brought about resurrection is the same power that brought about new birth. A new creation is a product of the Word of God. A new creation is not a continuation of Adam. He is not a sinner saved by grace. He is forever saved. The problem of Christianity is not sin but sin consciousness.

The price of sin was paid in full. Sin was dealt with by the birth, suffering, death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice of death for our sins. It is your belief in the finished work of Christ that distinguishes you from the unbelievers. The greatest creation of God is the creation of God in a man. Of all that God created, a new creation is the greatest. The devil cannot handle seeing God in a man. He cannot comprehend it. This is why the devil remains defeated because a new creation is a mystery to him. 

A new creation is not traceable to Adam but he is traceable to Christ. A new man in Christ is better and higher than Adam in his perfect state. A new creature is a partaker of the divine nature of God (2Peter 1:4). He is a co-creator. A new creation has what it takes to bring what has never been into existence. The Word of God is the raw material that produces a new creature. The realm of a new creature is the realm of the Word.

INSTRUCTION: Discover your content in the Scripture.

PRAYER:  I am who God says I am and I do what the Word says I do, in Jesus name!

KNOW NO MAN AFTER THE FLESH

“Wherefore hence know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more” 2Corinthians 5:16.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Those who know Christ after the flesh live by the law.

You may know a person before, but you are not to know the person base on your physical knowledge about the person especially when the person comes into Christ. When you come into Christ, your nature is changed from the sinful nature to the nature of God. The spirit of God dwells inside of you. Born again experience has nothing to do with having a good behavior. Morality is not Christianity. Being born again has everything to do with a change of nature. A new creature is not a moralist. He is not an unbeliever who has decided to change his behavior and live right. He is a re-born man. At new birth, God does not just fix your old life back or try to repair you; He completely replaces your old life with a new one. 

Therefore, a new man in Christ is not a function of renovation neither is he under construction. When you come into Christ, the old you dies and a new you come alive. You are a total replacement. The born again experience is a death and resurrection experience. You become totally dead to sin and come alive in Christ. Therefore, you are the explicit image of God. When you come into this knowledge, you know and understand your worth. A new man in Christ is better than Adam (Luke 7:28). In his perfect state, Adam was a mere shadow. As a new creation, you cannot be traced to Adam. Identity

You can only be traced to God because you are in Christ and Christ is God. Consequently, you are not a product of the flesh; neither are you a product of repentance. You are God in a man. The whole headquarters of God has been relocated into your system. “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things has passed away; behold all things are become new” (2Corinthians 5:17). Now that you are in Christ, you cannot be traced to Adam. Everything traceable to Adam in your system has been nullified. 

You are a new generation. Generational curses cannot be traceable to you. You have become a co-creator. You are no longer living your own life but you are living for Christ; the God kind of life (Galatians 2:20). Therefore, begin to walk in victory because you are born of God and you can overcome anything because, “Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1John 5:4).You have won!

INSTRUCTION: Stop seeing a man in Christ base on your previous knowledge about him.

PRAYER:  I am new man in Christ and the old me is gone forever, in Jesus name!

CHRIST BASED KNOWLEDGE BRINGS FREEDOM

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot ” 1Peter 1:18-19.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The knowledge you have about who you are in Christ brings freedom.

The Bible speaking in John 8:32 say, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”. It is the truth that you know that makes you free. Spiritual freedom brings about physical manifestations in all your endeavors. You need to know that Christ had fully paid the price for you. He had authoritatively announced your freedom when he declared on the cross that it is finished. Christ gave us victory free of charge. We could never have been able to buy ourselves back. “But God commendeth his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Romans 8:15 says, “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father”. 

It is the redemption that brings the totality of your freedom. Through freedom, you have the power to overcome sin. You need to know this, accept this and live in this knowledge. Galatians 5:1 says, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”. You need to constantly develop yourself through the study of the Word of God. Let it dwell in you richly and believe in what you have learned (Colossians 3:16).

Your life on earth is a function of your faith. Faith is the spiritual center of gravity. The absence of faith in your life is the arrival of every ugly circumstance in your life. A new creation cannot be justified outside faith because his entire life functions in faith. Faith is the spiritual energy that controls all the activities of God here on earth. It is the engine room that drags the desires of God into your life. 

Faith is the spiritual power God uses to prove Himself in the midst of His people. With faith, you can design your world and interpret your mental picture into reality. Let the knowledge of Christ be the basis of your faith. It is not the Christian Religious knowledge (C.R.K) you need to know Christ; it is Christ Revelational knowledge (C.R.K) you need to become a better Christian. Christian Religious Knowledge is law based but Christ Revelational Knowledge is grace based. Think about that!

INSTRUCTION: Make effort to know more about Christ.

PRAYER:  Lord, grant me a deeper knowledge of Christ, in Jesus name!

GOD IS YOUR JUSTIFIER

       

“Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth” Romans 8:33.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: When you are in Christ, you are justified by God.

It is a monumental ignorance to think that a man in Christ is still in sin: for if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things has passed away and behold all things have become new (2Cor.5:17). Christ is the guarantor for any man who is saved. God justifies the person because of Christ and not because of the person. No matter what happens or what people or even Satan may do, the person cannot be condemned: For there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Rom.8:1).When you are justified at new birth, whatever makes life beautiful and meaningful is deposited in you. The reason for your calling is every explicit: Men ought to see the goodness of God in you and desire to be like you. 

Most believers have a myopic view about Christianity because they do not know who they are in Christ. You are not a believer so that you can own material things. You are not in church so that the church can give you things. The essence of your being a believer in the church is revealed in Ephesians 4:12-13, which says, “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ: till we all come in the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”.

While you are busy getting perfected in your walk with God, whoever does not like your face or your name is not important and cannot stand against your justification. Your condemnation comes from men and Satan but your justification comes from God via your believe in Christ Jesus. This is why our text today asked and answered the question: who shall lay charge against the elect, it is God that justifies. Your life is defined in Christ. 

There is no other name that can guarantee your salvation apart from the name of Jesus. The whole scriptures talks about Jesus. Jesus testifies of this truth in John 5:39 saying “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are which testifies of me”. It is not in your effort to be justified, it is purely God’s effort. This is why the entire Bible projects the personality of Jesus to show God’s conscious effort towards your justification.

INSTRUCTION: Believe you are God’s choice.

PRAYER:  Lord, I am free from the accusation of the world, in Jesus name!

THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT

       

“For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” Romans 8:2

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The law of the Spirit of life suspends the law of sin and death

When the law of the spirit of life is activated in your life via believe in Christ Jesus, it suspends every other law that sin had activated in your life before. It gives you opportunity to access a new life full of joy, peace and rest in Christ. When a man believes and receives Christ into his life, he becomes a new man. The scripture says that he becomes translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light (Colossians 1:12). 

Sin brought death to the world and the penalty of sin was death (Romans 6:23). Man therefore became a captive of sin and death. He could not help himself. No captive can bail himself out of prison. It takes only a free man to pay the ransom to free the captive. So man needed help. He needed someone to pay the price for him. 

Jesus had to pay the price to redeem man from the captivity of sin and death. Since God is a God of justice, He had to send His Son to meet the demands of the law. The demand of the law stipulated that every soul that sinneth must die (Ezekiel 18:4). Jesus had to surrender himself to bear the sins of the world, die a gruesome death on the cross and pay the price for man’s sin. By this means, anybody who comes into Christ is not permitted to die eternally.

If you are in Christ Jesus, you are no longer subject to death. Looking at Revelation 6:8 you will understand that death was empowered to destroy men via hunger, wars, sicknesses etc. As a new man in Christ, all these predicaments are not permitted to be effective in your life. This is because what defines your life as a new man in Christ is not in what you can do but in what God has done for you in Christ. Y

ou have nothing to contribute for your freedom; everything has been freely given to you. God does not place any demands on you. Satan is afraid of you knowing who you are in Christ because he uses the fear of death to hold men captive. The day you come into the knowledge of who you are in Christ, Satan becomes afraid of you. As a new man in Christ, you can nullify the works of the devil. You were not born again of a corruptible seed but of the incorruptible word of God which defiles all negative laws made by Satan via the introduction of sin.

INSTRUCTION: Study the word to know the law you are operating in.

PRAYER:  Every power and law of death over my life is broken, in Jesus name!

THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST

“When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, woman, where are thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? She said, no man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more” John 8:10-11.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Jesus paid the price for our freedom through His death on the cross.

To be free means to obtain without any payment. It means to have another pay the price you couldn’t pay in order to let you go. It also means not enslaved or imprisoned; to be free from obstruction or any form of blockage. The death of Jesus paid for all our freedom but it is the knowledge in the liberty that Christ has provided that guarantees our freedom (Galatians 5:1; Romans 8:1). Spiritual freedom brings about physical manifestations in all our endeavours. Believers in Christ need to know that the bill for their freedom has been paid in full. Accepting Jesus brings freedom. You can only be free as a son of God. Responsible sons in the spirit are free because they are empowered. 

Freedom comes to men of understanding and not church goers (John 8:36). It is your redemption that brings about the totality of your freedom. According to today’s text, the woman was caught in the very act of adultery and she must have thought that was her end. According to the law, she was supposed to be stoned to death. But by the divine mercies of God, her accusers did not know that they were bringing her to her freedom.

To be free, you must ultimately accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. The woman in today’s text acknowledged Jesus as Lord. When you acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, no other power can keep you in bondage (1John 3:8). You must consciously be mindful of what Jesus did for you at the cross.  It is the knowledge of the liberty you have that guarantees your victory. 

The devil will only take advantage of your ignorance of who you are in Christ. When you don’t know your rights as a believer in Christ Jesus, you become a plaything in the hands of the devil. But when the devil knows that you are aware of your position in Christ, he stays away. It is your responsibility to know that you are free and that Satan no longer has any stronghold on you. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1).

INSTRUCTION: Don’t be ignorant of your freedom.                                                                   

PRAYER: Lord, I stand fast in the liberty you have provided for me in Jesus Name.

THE DUAL CAPACITY OF MAN: MORTALITY AND IMMORTALITY

“And as we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly” 1Corinthians 15:49.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: We receive a dead nature from Adam but receive eternal life from Christ.

The scripture above clearly gives us the difference between Jesus and Adam. Adam is not Christ and Christ is not Adam. Adam is of the earthly. He came from the dust and is earthly minded. He is dead, doomed and cannot function in heavenly things. He is dead to the things of God in Christ. 

To be heavenly, means that you are of heaven. It means that you are heavenly minded and dead to earthly things because you possess the image of the heavenly and have the DNA of God at work in you. In Adam, we have a dead nature. In Christ, we have eternal life. Adam became a living soul but Christ is a life-giving spirit (1Corinthians 15:45). The Last Adam which is Christ came to switch things for the benefit of mankind (Romans 5:17). 

Jesus Christ brought righteousness to the believers that we might reign in life. Your reigning in life is connected to the gift of righteousness. Eternal life swallows all evil. The arrival of eternal life in you is the exit of all bad life around you. Reigning in life is not possible without righteousness. To be born in Christ is to be born in righteousness. You come to God through the righteousness of one (Jesus Christ). Christ reversed whatever Adam did.

Christ had a total conquest over Satan. Through redemption, Jesus had complete victory over Satan. Through his blood which signifies His life, Jesus legally brought man back to God. No one could attain righteousness by good deeds. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, ‘For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him’.

 Righteousness means having a right standing with God. Anyone who believes in the redemptive work of Christ is declared righteousness. Righteousness is not obtained by observance of the law but by faith in the finished work on the Cross of Calvary. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and accepts Him as the Lord and Saviour has eternal life.

INSTRUCTION:Know when to switch your dual capacity. Live in God’s plan for your life.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive divine understanding to operate in the realm you have ordained for me in Jesus Name.

QUOTE: Adam and Christ are the two players that determine the course of human life.

THERE IS NO LIFE OUTSIDE CHRIST

“For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 6:10-11.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The life we have in Christ is eternal and it is not corrupt.

When we receive Christ, we receive His death. We were also buried with Him. The life we live now in Christ is called a new life which is eternal life and eternal life is not corrupt. Christ redeemed us from sin, sickness and death. A born again child of God has no sin to transgress. Jesus is the end of the law (Romans 10:4). 

The law is not for the righteous man (1Timothy 1:9-10). Jesus came to fulfil the law. In the New Testament, whatever is not of faith is sin. If you doubt, you are damned (Romans 14:23). We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). What makes you a believer in Christ is faith. 

Anything about your life that is out of faith is sin. As a born again child of God, you have been accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6). Being born again means you are dead to sin and come alive in Christ (John 5:24). When you live by the law, you live a defeated life. A born again child of God lives his life by what Jesus did and not on family traditions and customs.

If God is the Head of the body of which you are a member, then you have everything. God can provide all your needs. All you need to do is to trust and reverence Him. It makes no sense to say that the head is well but the body is sick or that the head is rich but the body is in lack. As Jesus is, so are you in this world (1John 4:17). 

The more you begin to see that you are one with Christ, the more you will realize that whatever you need right now, He is dispensing it to you. In God’s perfect will, there is no sickness, poverty nor death. So there should be no sickness, poverty nor death traceable to you. There should be nothing missing, broken or lacking in you because in Him you live, move and have your being. 

Beloved, have the rich mind-set and revelation that Christ and you are one. You can never be separated from Christ your head from whom comes all the supply you need.

INSTRUCTION:Look to Jesus and live.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive life in abundance in Jesus Name.

JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH

“Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 5:1.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Freedom is connected to the truth you know.

Before the arrival of Jesus, sin had been the god of this world. A perfect understanding of why Jesus came would give you freedom from the strongholds of religion. For you to win and rule, there is a need to know. Freedom is connected to the truth you know. Enough knowledge is what you need to succeed in life. 

A perfect understanding of the finished work on the cross will put you on the fast lane of life where no works of the enemies can slow you down. You need to know that Jesus took care of your sins once and for all. Hebrews 1:3 says, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high”. 

Jesus sat down on the right hand of the Father because He was done with sin. He is God’s anointed and appointed. His triumph over sin was our freedom from death (Galatians 2:20). What produced Jesus is the Word (John 1:14). Your feelings can neither condemn nor save you. It is what you believe that either condemns or saves you. God is not emotional.  As believers, we must wake up into our rights in Christ Jesus. The devil only takes advantage of our ignorance of what Jesus has done for us.

Destiny is not fulfilled in feelings but in enough knowledge. You have no sin as recorded in Romans 8:3 which says, “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own son in the likeness of the sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh”. Everything God provided through Christ is eternal. 

Christ solved the problem of sin once and for all because it takes only a sinless life to solve the problem of sin. There is no end for a man who knows what Jesus did for him at the cross. He does not live in anxiety neither is he moved by present circumstances because he believes that his saviour lives in eternity controlling space, time and seasons. He is confident that where Christ is, he is also there. Ephesians 2:6 says, ‘And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus’. 

Having reconciled man through redemption by Christ, God desires that all men be reconciled to Him. “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. You must of a necessity focus on the finished work of Christ on the cross for you.

INSTRUCTION: Meditate on the finished work of Christ on the cross.

PRAYER: Lord, by your sacrifice, I silence powers questioning my freedom, in Jesus Name.

THERE IS HOPE FOR YOU

“Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth” John 11:32,43.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: It is only faith that has no respect for time.

There is no problem free zone in life. Problem is the secret hand of God moving men from nothing to something. It takes God to win the battles of life (Psalms 124:1-6). When God is with you, you will have all round victory. It is only faith that has no respect for time.

According to John11:1-43, Lazarus was a friend of Jesus who had been dead for four days before the arrival of Jesus. Even when Mary and Martha sent for Jesus while Lazarus was still sick, the scripture made us understand that He didn’t show up but stayed where he was. Rather, Jesus said that the sickness was not unto death but for the glory of God to be manifested. When Jesus finally arrived the town of Bethany even when Lazarus was dead and buried, the story of Lazarus and his family was never the same.

 Therefore, as believers in Christ, no matter what circumstance you may be going through, the good news is that there is light at the end of the tunnel! The Bible records in Psalms 30:5b that weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. It does not matter how long you have been in that situation, there is hope for you. Don’t give up because when God is with you, you will have a supernatural commanding victory. When problems land on your door, don’t break down rather choose to break records because in every family and generation, there must be record breakers. 

Therefore, you must choose to be one.Do not measure enemies by their size but by the size of your God. When problems show up, you do not have to see problem but see God in the midst of the problems (Exodus 14:13-14). God has the answer to every problem that comes our way. Isaiah 43:2-6 captures the promise of God to always be with us. It says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, yourSavior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.  Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life”.

 Coming out of problems is possible when you treat God as God and giving Him the honour He deserves.

INSTRUCTION: Don’t lose hope. Fix your eyes on Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to come out of every problem of life, in Jesus Name.
