ASSURANCE

“But continue thou in the thing which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child, thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” 2 Timothy 3:14-15.

There is an assurance that comes when you know you are alive and are where you ought to be, this is the partnership and security embedded in salvation. This is beyond accepting Jesus into your lives; it is a belief system that is inspirational, beneficial and profitable for reproof. Have you ever wondered why you are a Christian? Is it because you were born into a Christian home? Or you discovered Christ for yourself? People’s view about Christianity has been thwarted because they do not know who they are in Christ Jesus. The basis of your salvation is the essence of your being which is expressed when you are part of a church.

Ephesians 4:12-13 says “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”. The role of the church is to perfect you, build you up not to meet your physical needs but your spiritual needs because eternal life is not an event, He is Jesus. He is the product which the scripture talks about. He is the only basis for our salvation for there is no other name by which you can be saved except through the name of Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the very essence of your life.
