“In whom we have
redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches
of his grace” Ephesians 1:7.
LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Our redemption is by the blood of
Jesus which was shed.
In Christ, we have our redemption. It does not matter what
mess you think you are in, you can trust Him to get you rid of it. Redemption
in Greek is translated, “aphesis” which means “remission”, “blotting out”,
“total removal” of sin. God did much more than forgive us, He blotted out our
sins. In Christ, there’s no trace or record of your sins. It’s as if you had
never sinned. That is why it is wrong for a believer in Christ to remain sin
conscious. Stop praying and asking God to forgive your sins because the Bible
never asked us to confess our sins. This might be controversial but it is the
truth. You might want to ask about 1 John 1:19 which says, “If we
confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse
us from all unrighteousness”? What this means is that if we acknowledge
our sins, God is faithful and just to put them away; to blot them out and
cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There is an automatic cleansing going on.
God blots out, takes away, and separates us from sin. He
wants you to walk free from any guilt or condemnation. He wants you walk in the
light of your riddance, your righteousness, your justification, your holiness
and your sanctification in Christ Jesus and not engulfed or overwhelmed by
guilt or sin consciousness.
INSTRUCTION: Don’t be sin conscious. Embrace the
finished work of Christ on the cross.
PRAYER: Father, I rid myself of anything
that is not consistent with the Gospel. I walk victorious, conscious of my
right standing with you in Christ Jesus, Amen.
QUOTE: Redemption is God’s perfect plan for
man.
