SIN HAS BEEN DEALT WITH

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 6:23

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The wrath of sin was satisfied on the Cross.

Many believers think that Christ died to save man from the wrath of God. They think that God was fuming at the world from heaven and looking forward to the day He will finally execute judgment on man and the sinful world. The truth is that God is no longer concerned about sin.  He used to be and it was this concern that made Him send Jesus to die for the sins of the world. The focus today is no longer on the wages of sin, which is death; but on the gift of God, which is eternal life through Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23). God wants the world to receive the salvation which He has already made available in Christ Jesus. The Bible says that He is unwilling that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2Peter 3:9). When Jesus died on the Cross, the problem of sin was dealt with. The wrath of sin was satisfied. This means that a believer in Christ Jesus does not have a sin problem. The death, burial and resurrection of Christ brought an end to sin and brought us into the life of righteousness. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

God is not angry with you. He has settled the sin problem in, and through Christ. What you need to do is to trust His righteousness. You are the result of Christ’s redemptive work. Accept and walk in His righteousness and live continually in His love, glory and grace. 2 Corinthians 5:19 says, “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the ministry of reconciliation”. Once you come into Christ, God does not even remember your sins. He does not hold you accountable for your sins. The Bible says, “…if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life” (Romans 5:10). Also, verse 17 of Romans chapter 5 says, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ”.

INSTRUCTION:Never be conscious of sin. Rather, be conscious of your righteousness in Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for taking my place on the cross and giving me eternal life,  in Jesus Name. Amen!!

QUOTE: Whatever you permit will end up influencing you.
