REDEEMED TO TAKE OVER

“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place” 2Corinthians 2:14.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Christianity is a call to the triumphant life.

When you come into Christ Jesus, you are immediately transported into the kingdom of God’s dear son; into a life of triumph. Christianity is a call to the triumphant life. Our text for today shows us God’s purpose for believers in Christ Jesus to live a life of constant victory. This means that in Christ, and through Him, we have been called to live a life of persistent productivity, good success, peace, joy, health, and permanent prosperity. This is the heritage of every believer in Christ Jesus. You have been empowered to win every day of your life. Christ redeemed you to take over your world. Unfortunately, there are many who are yet to accept this glorious truth. As a result of this, they live below God’s standards for them. They live below their calling. They are up today and down tomorrow. To them, the journey of life is full with uncertainties, full of ups and downs, win today and lose tomorrow. But this is not consistent with the life we have in Christ. The Bible records that “the path of the just is like a shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18).

A second look at our text for today shows that God causes us to triumph ALWAYS, not sometimes. When you have this consciousness, you can never be a victim of life. You must be more conscious of your victorious life in Christ; your divinity. You have the very nature of God in your spirit and His life in every fiber of your being. In Him you live, move and have your being (Acts 17:28). You were born a champion. Live each day of your life in victory. Yours is a life of daily blessings, favor and miracles. You are born of God and whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world (1John 4:4). You have been empowered to take over. Therefore, refuse to live below God’s standard. Enforce your redemption. Activate your divine nature. Live in the consciousness that if Christ was not defeated, then you cannot be defeated. The nature of God is at work in you. You have no right to be stranded in life or to go through life empty. Rise up and take over territories. It is your divine inheritance in Christ to prosper, to be in health. You are not to suffer lack but you to be a dispenser of all good things that is in you in Christ Jesus. Refuse to live below your calling.

INSTRUCTION:You have been made a champion. Behave like one.

PRAYER:Lord, help me walk in the consciousness of the victory you have given to mein Jesus name.

QUOTE:Until you know, you cannot take.

BELIEVE AND RECEIVE

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”

Romans 12:2.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: You need knowledge to rule your world.

The good, acceptable and perfect will of God can only be achieved through knowledge. This is the core foundation for receiving. In receiving, one must first believe and how do you believe in something you have little or no knowledge about? Life is in the mind, your mind needs to be updated; if your android phones require a constant upgrade, how much more yourself? No matter what you want to attain in life, greater academic heights, career, business and marriage; knowledge is a necessity.

One of the benefits of believing in Christ is; He has given you all that you require to succeed through redemption, you have the power to access and receive everything that He paid for at the cross. What you believe erodes delay and ushers you into your place in destiny. 1 Peter 5:10 says, “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered awhile make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you”. Remember, no matter what you think you want or need in life, all you need to do is believe and you will receive.

INSTRUCTION: Start believing in your dreams and watch as they come into manifestation.

PRAYER:  Lord, because I believe, I position myself to receive all the benefits of my redemption in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: Believing is receiving.

THE SPIRIT IS IN YOU (2)

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Everything Jesus Came to accomplish was aimed at Christ dwelling in you.

The essence of Christianity is Christ in you; that is the power and glory of Christianity. When some people say, ‘Christ is in me’, they are merely repeating a religious cliché. They have not really grasped the import of that statement. Everything Jesus came to accomplish was aimed at reproducing Christ in you. Christ in you is everything. Jesus didn’t just come to save us from sin, He saved us for a purpose! Saving us from sin was a means to an end which was to make each one of us God’s living tabernacle, in such a way that we become one with Him. The ultimate aim of Christianity is reproducing Christ here on earth. It is an extraordinary thinking. It reveals the excellence of God’s mentality. God didn’t just make us His house; He made us one with Himself. Together, we are one divine creation. For the Bible says, “….for that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17).

God’s ultimate purpose was to reproduce Himself in us and He has achieved this through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. He didn’t just want to have children; His idea was to reproduce Himself and have associates of the God-kind. You may look at your life now with all that is happening around you and your life doesn’t seem like you are anything close to being an associate of the God-kind. This is why God wants you to focus on His Word and see that your royal and priestly life has begun. The Holy Spirit in you is the assurance, the guarantee and the realization of this glorious life. Halleujah!!

INSTRUCTION:Focus on the Word not on your situation.

PRAYER:Christ in me, the hope of glory, Amen.

QUOTE:You are a walking resurrection.

THE SPIRIT IS IN YOU (1)

“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:19.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: You are a carrier of the presence of God.

In the Old Testament, the children of Israel transported the presence of God from place to place every time they carried the Tabernacle of Witness, which contained the Ark of the Covenant. The only thing in the ark was God’s commandments. Today, your heart is the Ark of God; that is where the Word is. Remember what the Bible says in Jeremiah 31:33, “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; after those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people”.This was fulfilled in us when we got born again. We were born again by the Word of God and became living epistles, “written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God – not in tables of stones, but with the fleshy tables of the heart” (2 Corinthians 3:3).

You are now a living ark of testimony and the tabernacle of His presence, “For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God and they shall be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16). God dwells in you now. You have become a carrier of His divine presence. You are God walking here on earth. God walks the earth through you. Wherever you enter, God enters. Your hand is God’s hands, your feet has become God’s feet your mouth has become His mouth. God walks and talks through you. You are in Him and He’s in you. Not only are you now in the presence of God, you carry the presence of God. The headquarters of divinity has been relocated to your inside. Every time you show up in a place, you show up with the presence of God. As a carrier of His divine presence, you are not permitted to leave any ugly situation the same way you met it. Christ in you; the hope of Glory. Alleluia!!

INSTRUCTION:You are a walking epistle. Make sure your life sends the right message.

PRAYER:Father, I thank you for your Spirit which lives in me. Therefore, sickness has no right to dwell alongside your presence in me, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE:You are a walking Presence of God.

THE MINISTRATION OF LIFE

“For if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious” 2Corinthians 3:7-8.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The Law is to minister death while the Spirit brings the ministration of life.

The law was given to reveal the helpnessness of man. It was given to point man to his Saviour. Apostle Paul referred to the Law as “the ministration of death”. The Law came so that condemnation might stand. When the Law was read, death was ministered; people were condemned; spiritual death became a consciousness. According to Apostle Paul in Romans 7:13, “For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died”. The law was given because of sin, so that sin might be shown to be what it really is. The Old Testament could not fulfill God’s intention which was to give life to man. Rather, it brought death because of the imperfections of the flesh. No one could fulfill the law. No one could live up to the standards that the law prescribed. But thanks be unto God! Christ Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law (). The Bible says that through Him, all are justified from all the things which they could not have been justified by the law (Acts 13:39).

Jesus Christ brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel (2 Timothy 1:10). So today, when the New Testament is preached; the Spirit of life is being ministered. 2 Corinthians 3:6 says, “who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life”. The letter here refers to the Law. The Law kills, but the spirit gives life. We can therefore say that the ministration of the Law was death but the ministration of the Spirit is the ministration of life.

INSTRUCTION:Stop focusing on the old. Embrace the new.

PRAYER:Father, I thank you for the privilege to minister life to the world through the gospel, in Jesus name.

QUOTE:Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of the Law.

CHRIST IS OUR HIGH PRIEST

“For every High Priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices; wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer” Hebrews 8:3.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: All that Christ paid for is our covenant right.

As the high priest of the church, Christ is to tske our tithes, offerings and sacrifices. As believers in Christ, we do not have sin problem because our sins have been eternally forgiven (Colossians 1:14; Romans 5:17). But for Jesus to function as our High Priest, He must have something in His hands to offer on our behalf. Acts 10:4 says, ”And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, what is it, Lord? And he said unto him, thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God”. Also 1 Peter 2:5 says, “Ye also, as lively stones are built up ma spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ”. As a believer in Christ, your salvation is guaranteed but for you to succeed here on earth, Christ must have something in His hands to present on your behalf. Tithing can never be over-emphasized. It is a spiritual and a scriptural principle. There was tithing even before Moses. Here, there are two types of tithing: Tithing under the Levitical Order (Old Testament) and tithing under the priesthood of Jesus.

Tithing under the Levitical Order was an obligation. It was a requirement for blessings. People paid tithe out of fear of curses so that their lands could produce. But tithing under the Melchizedek Order (New Testament) which could be likened to the Priesthood of Jesus is when the people give a portion of what they have already been blessed with. In the Old Testament, people gave so that they could be blessed but in the New Testament, people give out of what they have already been blessed with. Genesis 14:18-20 says, “And Melchizedek King of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the Most High God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the Most High God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all”. Tithing is a scriptural principle that recognizes God as the source of all supply. It is an indication that the love of God is at work in you. Tithing is also an indication to show that you have overcome greed. Jesus died so that the blessings of Abraham can be transferred to us (Galatians 3:13-16).

INSTRUCTION: Recognize God as your source.

PRAYER: Lord, I connect with the blessings of Abraham through Christ, in Jesus name!

SUPERIOR TO MOSES IN HIS WORK

“Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus. Who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house” Hebrews 3:1-2

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Jesus Christ has become our mercy seat.

Jesus Christ is not our High Priest for nothing. He has been duly authorized to minister in holy things. He is also given to offering sacrifices to God and also to receive from man to God. This means that he is standing between God and man. Jesus has become our mercy seat. Therefore, as a believer in Christ, you do not have a sin problem. John 1:29 says, “Behold the lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world”. Sin is a nature and is strange to God because God never created it. Sin is an enemy to God and this is the reason Jesus came to destroy the enemy of God. Apostle Paul speaking in Hebrews 9:26 (NLT) says, if that had been necessary, Christ would haqve had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as sacrifice”. As our High Priest, Jesus has compassion on the ignorant and intercedes for them to come to knowledge. Hebrews 5:1-2 says, “For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: who can have compassion on the ignorant, for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity”.
God is a God of knowledge and for you to relate with Him, you must know Him (1 Samuel 2:3). Christ is not felt, He is known. When you come into the knowledge of the truth, you will know the hope of His calling. You will also know the riches of the glory of His inheritance as well as know the exceeding greatness of His resurrection (Ephesians 1:18).

INSTRUCTION:Stay in the finished work of Christ.

PRAYER:Lord, thank you for always standing in the gap for me, in Jesus Name.

YOU HAVE POWER OVER SIN AND SIN CONCIOUSNESS

“For sin shall no longer have dominion over you: for you are not under the law but under grace”

 Romans 6:14

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Until you know who you are in Christ, you will suffer identity crisis.

One major challenge every believer faces when he gets born again is understanding who he is and how he can overcome sin and sin consciousness. This is because in most cases, the believer is still beclouded by his experiences and lifestyle before he got born again. Often times, he gets reminded of his past and becomes depressed, doubting whether he is actually born again or not. As a believer in Christ, you must understand that the first area the devil will attack is your identity. This is where the devil starts from. Until you know who you are in Christ, you will suffer identity crisis as a believer. Once you have identity crisis, the devil would want to capitalize on it to torment and oppress you. Even when you pray, you are not sure whether your prayers are answered or not because you do not have the assurance of salvation. This is where your strength or weakness lies. Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:34 to awake to righteousness and sin not. This shows that what will make you not to sin is to be alive or awake to the knowledge of who you are in Christ. You must be conscious of the truth that you are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). Christ now dwells inside of you through the Holy Spirit. To awake to this reality is to defeat Satan and the power of sin.

You can now say no to the flesh and bring it under the subjection and obedience of Christ who saved you because your strength is now in the grace of God given to you: for you are now under grace. And grace gives you the ability to say no to sin. You are to glorify God with your spirit and body because you now the express image of the God-kind. So, when the devil tries to remind you of your past, you remind him of his future which is the lake of fire, and thank God for forgiving you and for the gift of righteousness to you. Never feel bad; forgetting those things which are past and pressing unto the glory ahead. Stop dwelling on your past but look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). Once your focus is right, your steps will be naturally right. You can now come boldly to the throne of grace that you might obtain mercy and find grace in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

INSTRUCTION: Know your place in redemption.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for opening the eyes of my understanding to come into the full knowledge of who I am in Christ. Help me walk in my new identity, in Jesus Name. Amen!!

QUOTE: Once your focus is right, your steps will be naturally right.

MORAL LIFE IS NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” Romans 5:17

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: To be sincere does not mean you are righteous.

In your walk with God, you have to understand that there is a huge difference between moral life and righteousness. Sometimes, we are tempted to think that God should look at our moral life and count it for righteousness. But the truth is that no matter how good your moral life is or how sincere you are, it will never amount to righteousness. We have quite a good number of honest people who are not righteous. There are people who do not steal, tell lies, fornicate, commit adultery or perform any other immoral acts but they are not righteous. God does not hear and answer your prayers because you are sincere or have a good moral life, He answers because you are righteous because of Jesus and your righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus. The Bible says, “Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life” (Romans 5:18).

Righteousness is what gives you a right standing in the presence of God. Your moral life can never give you a right standing before God. Many people out of ignorance pray and cry to God making mention of their good moral life. This is because they are not aware of the truth of God’s Word. Never use your moral life as a currency. It is your faith – your faith in His righteousness – that produces results. Having been declared righteous, you have peace with God (Romans 5:1). This did not happen based on your moral life or personal effort. It happened because He gave you His righteousness. You cannot impress God with your good works. Jesus already impressed Him on your behalf. So, when you plead your case with God, it should not be based on your works but on the basis of your right standing with God in Christ Jesus.

INSTRUCTION:Never think you can impress God with your self-righteousness.

PRAYER:Lord, I thank you for making me righteous and giving me a right standing before God, in Jesus Name. Amen.

HE DECLARED YOU RIGHTEOUS!

‘But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference’ – Romans 3:21-22

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Moral life is good, but it’s not a guarantee for eternal life; Jesus is.

Many religions stipulate that their adherents should be ‘good’ to fellow humans. All over the world, people of diverse religious beliefs steadfastly provide for their families, care for their neighbours and strictly abide by the laws of their nations. Some go extra miles building philanthropic structures to care for the homeless and victims of natural disasters. Some individuals have dedicated their life-savings, estates and legacies for educational advancement of the poor. All these are fantastic plans put in place to enhance destinies. Having such lofty foundations and relief programmes are never bad. Others have made concerted efforts to refrain from domestic violence. Some have guarded and defended children’s right. A good number of fellows have brokered peace among warring nations. All these are giant strides in caring for humanity. None of these moral deeds can make you righteous!

No amount of good deeds performed by man can earn him a righteous standing with God. The preceding verses of Romans Chapter 3 make it clear that the precepts of the law are valid for people who are under the law - and these are guilty before God. From today’s reference text, God benevolently declares man righteous only if he believes in the Son of God – Jesus Christ. You are justified by your faith in Jesus Christ. Romans5:1 says,‘therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ’. Anyone who engages in moral works and does not believe in Jesus Christ is not righteous. Moral deeds alone cannot give you life. It is only your belief in Jesus Christ that makes you havepeace with God.Belief in Christ does not only grant you peace with God, it also guarantees an eternal life. ‘In him was life; and the life was the light of men’ (John 1:4). If you want to live forever, you must believe in Jesus Christ. ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’Do you want to be righteous? Then believe in Jesus. Do you sincerely believe that Jesus Christ is the Son God? If yes, then you are an eternal being in this temporary world.

INSTRUCTION:Have a strong belief that Jesus Christ is your Redeemer.

WALKING IN FAITH

“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart; that is, the word of faith, which we preach” Romans 10:8

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: A believer in Christ does not have a faith problem.

Every born again son of God has faith. As a matter of fact, being born again is to be in faith. The message of salvation you received came with faith and planted a seed of the Word of God in your heart which gave birth to you (Romans 1017). This is why the faith you have now is the faith of the son of God (Galatians 2:20) and every believer is of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10). Therefore, the believer does not have a faith problem. And it is an error or an insult to ask a believer to have faith just as it is an insult to tell a man to be a man. The believer is a believer because he has faith. A man is a man because he is a man. The problem of a believer is the problem of knowledge. Since a believer already has faith, to operate in this faith, he needs to first acknowledge every good thing that is in him, which is Christ (Philemon 1:6). Paul did not pray that Philemon should acknowledge the negative things or experiences of his life which may include sickness, barrenness etc; but that he would acknowledge every good thing that is in him because he is in Christ where no negative experiences exist.

The word, ‘acknowledgement’ used by Paul is the Greek word “epignosis”. It means the exact, precise, accurate or revealed knowledge. This is not experiential knowledge; it is knowledge that comes by revelation. From our text for today, the word of faith which was preached to you and got you born again is also critical to your walking in faith. Remember, the word preached to you is in your mouth and in your heart. And faith is the positive response of the human spirit to the word of God. It determines what you think and say. Your mouth in agreement with your heart controls your entire life. Even your salvation is a product of your heart and mouth (Romans 10:9-10). The message that establishes and keeps you standing in the faith is the message of the finished work of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

INSTRUCTION: Be conscious of the finished work of Christ.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for giving me all that pertains to life and godliness, in Jesus Name. Amen!!

JESUS: THE RESSURECTION AND THE LIFE

JESUS: THE RESSURECTION AND THE LIFE

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” John11:25-26.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The arrival of resurrection is the exit of the old nature.

Resurrection is not an event but a person. Resurrection is eternal life. There is no kind of situation nor circumstance that cannot respond to the voice of life. John 11:43-44 says, “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus said unto them, loose him, and let him go”. That was the hopeless situation of Lazarus but that hopeless situation received life at the arrival of the Resurrection. Resurrection is the nature of God at work in us. It is God dispensing His own life to the dying world (Romans 8:2-4; Romans 7:15). Resurrection is salvation. This is because without the resurrection of Jesus from the grave, there is no way we would have been saved from our sin. Romans 1:16-17 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith”.

Resurrection also makes righteousness available to us and this is our bill of rights. Righteousness grants us boldness when asking God for anything. Resurrection makes power available. John 1:12 says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name”. The reason you are a son of God is to display power. Christianity is not a mere religion. It is a display of power. You need to be equipped with knowledge to demonstrate this power that you carry as a son of God. Resurrection is our Christian life. Ephesians 2:16 (MSG) says, “Christ brought us together through his death on the cross. The cross got us to embrace and that was the end of the hostility”.

INSTRUCTION: Believe in the finished work of Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, by the power of your resurrection, I command every dead good thing in my life to come alive, in Jesus Name.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR DIVINE NATURE

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” 2Peter 1:4.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:  A believer in Christ is no ordinary person. He is a partaker of the divine nature.

As a Christian, you are born of God. This means that your origin is in God. You came from God. You are born of Him and the Bible records that whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world (1 John 5:4). The believer in Christ is no ordinary person. He is a partaker of the divine nature of God. This means that you are in the God-class of being; you belong to the heavenly; you are an associate of the God-kind. As Jesus is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). As Jesus is divine, so are we also divine. The Bible records in John 5:26, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself…”. And again, in 1 John 5:11-12, the Bible states, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son hath not life”. This means that we have the same life with Christ. It is the divine life. It is called the Higher Life. It is what makes a believer absolutely indestructible. It is based on this premise that we say that a believer has no right to be sick, poor, possessed by demons etc.

As a believer in Christ Jesus, divine health, success, prosperity are your inheritance and not a hope or promise from God. This is because you are born of God’s incorruptible seed which is the Word (1 Peter 1:23). Therefore, the life in you cannot be corrupted by sickness nor lack. You must refuse to accept that it is okay or normal for you as a believer in Christ to be sick or suffer lack. You are among those that cannot be infected by the sicknesses in the world. Jesus said in Mark 16:18,”…and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them…” If Jesus said it, then it is so. Meditate on this truth until it gains ascendancy into your spirit and becomes your experience.

INSTRUCTION:Refuse to accommodate anything that is inconsistent with your divine nature.

PRAYER:Lord, I thank you for the divine life I have in you. As you are, so am I in this world, Amen.

DEATH HAS NO PLACE IN A NEW MAN

“For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” Romans 8:2-4

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The law of sin and death is suspended at the emergence of a new man in Christ.

The Law of the spirit of life has made us free in Christ. When a man believes and receives Christ into his life, he becomes a new man. The scripture says that he becomes translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light (Colossians 1:12). Sin brought death to the world and the penalty of sin was death (Romans 6:23). Man therefore became a captive of sin and death. He could not help himself. No captive can bail himself out of prison. It takes only a free man to pay the ransom to free the captive. So man needed help. He needed someone to pay the price for him. Jesus had to pay the price to redeem man from the captivity of sin and death. Since God is a God of justice, He had to send His Son to meet the demands of the law which stipulated that every soul that sinneth must die (Ezekiel 18:4). Jesus had to surrender himself to bear the sins of the world, die a gruesome death on the cross and pay the price for man’s sin. By this means, anybody who comes into Christ is not permitted to die.

Those who are in Christ Jesus are no longer subject to death. It is instructive to note that death was empowered to kill with hunger, with the sword and spiritual death (Revelation 6:8). As a new man in Christ, these three predicaments are not permitted to be effective in your life. This is because what defines the life of a new man in Christ is not in what he can do but in who he is in Christ. What defines the life of a new man in Christ is in everything God has done. God does not place any demands on us. Satan is afraid of you knowing who you are in Christ because he uses the fear of death to hold man captive. The day you come into the knowledge of who you are in Christ, Satan becomes afraid of you. As a new man in Christ, you can nullify the works of the devil. Being born again is not a call to punishment but a call to exercise power and authority.

INSTRUCTION: Stay in Christ and death will stay away from you.

PRAYER:  Every power and law of death over my life is broken, in Jesus name!

QUOTE:A new man in Christ has no appointment with death.

ALWAYS IN HIS PRESENCE

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

 1 Corinthians 3:16

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: You are the presence of God.

There are many Christians who, when they come to church, would say, “Lord, we have come into your presence”. And when they leave church, they feel that they have left the presence of God. Some would even pray for the presence of God to come down or follow them everywhere. But you must understand that as a child of God, you do not ‘come’ into the presence of God neither do you go out of it. You are forever in the presence of God. You are the presence of God. When you enter a place, you enter with God’s presence. You bear His presence. You are the temple of the living God, who dwells in you by the Holy Spirit. When you became born again, Christ took up His abode in you. The headquarters of divinity was relocated to the quarters of your heart. He is in you now, and you are in Him. In Him you live, move and have your being (Acts 17:28). He did not come into you to leave again after some time. He is forever in you. The presence of God does not just come to rest on you; the presence of God is within you. In the Old Testament, the Spirit would come and rest on the people for a while. This was before the Holy Spirit came to take up His abode in our hearts. It is an everlasting indwelling. The Spirit of God dwells in you, and He is the conveyor of the presence and blessings of God, and all that has been given to us in Christ.

Have this consciousness that you are a God-carrying vessel, and you live in His presence every day. This is what it means to be in Christ. You are in the divine environment; the environment of His glory and divine essence. As a born again Christian, God now dwells in you by His Spirit. The power of any believer lies in the consciousness of who he is and what he carries. Until you know that the Greater One lives in you, you will continue to walk and live in fear of what is supposed to be under your feet. As a believer, you must know that God is with you, in you and for you at all times. When you know who you are in Christ; what you have in Him and; what Christ can do through you, it does not matter what is against you, you will be confident that in all these things, you are more than a conqueror.

INSTRUCTION: Constantly study the Bible to know the Truth for therein lies your victory and strength.

PRAYER: Lord, I am more than more than a conqueror. I receive the spirit of love, power and sound mind, in Jesus Name. Amen!!

QUOTE: The strength of your freedom is determined by your knowledge of the truth.
