“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but
by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal
redemption for us” Hebrews 9:12.
LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The one-time offering of Christ dealt with all
sins for all people and for all time.
By the one- time offering of Jesus, He became our mediator. Jesus defended our redemption and reminded Satan of his constant defeat. By the blood of Christ, our conscience has been purged from dead works to serve the living God (Hebrews 9:14). Until your conscience is purged, Satan will keep reminding you of your past. Your service to God is not complete until your conscience is purged from dead works. If you allow Satan to condemn you, your faith and confidence in God would be destroyed. God gave Christ to die for us even when we did not deserve it. He did not just save us but He also gave us the name of Jesus as an authority. The tabernacle Moses built was according to a pattern and everything in it has a representation. Hebrews 8:5 says, “Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, see, saith he; that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount”. The veil in the temple represented the body of Jesus (Matthew 27:51). The shadows, types and the realities of what Jesus did include the constant sacrifices on the altar in the Old Testament.
God
could not communicate to man without the blood. The blood of Jesus is not a
liquid but His finished work, His office and His person. The one-time offering of
Christ dealt with all sins for all people and for all time. The gospel is not
about sin but about the forgiveness of sin. The message of sin brings fear but
the message of the forgiveness of sins which is the gospel brings faith
(Hebrews 10:1-2). The New Testament sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross did the
work. The price Jesus paid for us is for our enjoyment of all the rights and
privileges of sons of God here on earth.
INSTRUCTION: Never lose focus of what Jesus Christ paid for.
PRAYER: Lord, I take
delivery of all that you paid for on the cross for me, in Jesus Name.
