SALVATION IS ETERNAL

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand” John 10:28-29

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:

You do not lose salvation

What God has done in Christ is eternal and one of such is salvation. Salvation is eternal. The Amplified Version of John 10:28 says “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. [To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed.] And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand.” This means you do not lose your salvation. Once you are saved, you are forever saved. Jesus did not save you to leave you. He says “I will never leave nor forsake you …” So, you have eternal security in Christ. In fact, you have double-eternal security in Christ – Jesus and the Father holding you. Peradventure you fall; it would still be inside their Hands. Hebrews 7:25 (NLT) says “Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf”. This means salvation is eternal. This is because Jesus is the Apostle and High Priest of our confession – making constant intercession for us. He is our Mercy seat.  Moral life is good but cannot give you salvation. Morality helps you live a successful life here on earth but has nothing to do with eternity. Salvation is not about what you can do, but it is about what God has done. Salvation is a gift of God to us. All we do is to receive it by confessing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” So, salvation is not acquired by works (self-righteousness or morality) but received by grace through faith (belief). Hebrews 10:14 says “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” The word “forever” means eternal. Hence, your salvation is eternal. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Do not refuse the free gift of God.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the gift of eternal life into my spirit man, in Jesus na

YOUR REALM AS A NEW MAN IN CHRIST (2)

How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)” Ephesians 3:3-4

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:

The only thing that pleases God is Christ in you.

Paul was a prisoner of Christ to the Gentiles. God revealed the mystery of Christ which is God in you reproducing Himself in the new creature. This revelation is the source of our making, and it has the power to establish us. The gospel is the gateway for your establishment. Colossians 1:26-27 says “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”. There is no creation that is as powerful as the mystery of God becoming man and man becoming God. Mark 4:11 says “And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables”. Until the mystery is revealed, it is of no use to you.

Until you understand your realm in Christ, you would be like a little child that carries a dollar in his hand and the next thing is to eat it. You will not understand the value of what you have. 1 Corinthians 1:30 says “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption”. Redemption means satisfying the claim of justice against you. It is by Paul that we understand what Jesus did for us in His great substitution. Isaiah 53:6 says “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all”. Christ took our place and we are now free. The only thing that pleases God is Christ in you. The perfect will of God for us is Christ, every other thing functions in our decision. It is also by Apostle Paul that we know what God did in us at new birth. John 3:6 says “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit”. So, at new birth, our nature was changed. The Adamic nature was done with, and we received the nature of God. As believers in Christ, we are kings and priests – having physical and spiritual authority. When you understand your realm, you have a good break from trouble (1 Peter 1:23, Galatians 2:19-20).

INSTRUCTION:

Walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER:

Lord, I enforce my redemption, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: The gospel is the gateway for your establishment.

YOUR REALM AS A NEW MAN IN CHRIST (1)

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” Hebrews 1:3

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: We are not of this world, but we are in Christ controlling the world

The word “his power” is translated from the Greek word which means ability. All the ability of deity is established in Him. His word the earth cannot refuse. His word cannot return void. Jesus holds the highest office and sit on the highest seat in the universe. He is our Lord. He is the head of the body, and of His fullness, we have received grace upon grace. This is how rich and powerful we are. We can never again talk about sickness, weakness, disease, unworthiness or poverty because we have received grace upon grace. If you are still sick, poor, suffering or feel unworthy, it means you do not understand your realm yet, you are far from the truth and you have not come into the full knowledge of your redemption. Isaiah 5:13 says “Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst”. The word “knowledge” here does not refer to academic, medical or scientific knowledge but the full knowledge of our redemption in Christ. The Scripture here means we are not aware of the new priesthood, our new realm and the stuff we are made up of. consequently, we have become captives instead of captains. Honourable men are hungry and cannot pay their bills. They don’t enjoy health, life and all that Christ has done. This is because they have not come into the realization that they are not of this world. You cannot be in the world and win the world. You can only be in Christ and win the world. The realm we belong is not of this world. “For In him, we live, move and have our being...” (Acts 17:28). So, your new world is not a place or location but a person and of His fullness of whom we have received grace upon grace. 1 John 5:4 says “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith”. You cannot be in Him and the world controls you. You cannot be in Him and sickness still has power over you. You cannot be in Christ and feel so unworthy. This is because of His sacrificial and substitution work. God through Christ became our substitute. This Christ is our eternal guarantee for salvation. Our life is eternally guaranteed only in Christ. By Him, we have a right-standing with the Father and this guarantee our daily victory over the enemies. God is only pleased when He sees Jesus in us, because it is only Jesus that can please Him. Jesus is our victory over the enemies, our present help, our peace that passes human understanding, He is our joy unspeakable, and He is everything to us. By Him all things are ours (Philippians 4:13). We are everything He is because of what He is to us and where He is (at the right hand of the Majesty on high). You cannot enjoy this realm until it is revealed to you. Some people disbelieved the resurrection of Jesus because they needed revelation to understand Jesus’ mission and the operation of the New Testament. They thought He was just a good man that died or a Martyr. You cannot enjoy all that Jesus paid for without revelation (accurate knowledge).

INSTRUCTION: Be born-again to enjoy your new realm in Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive revelation to enjoy my new realm, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: The mystery is Christ in you.

ENFORCING THE PRIESTHOOD OF CHRIST

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree” – Galatians 3:13

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: We have a right to God’s blessings through faith.

The death of Christ on the cross satisfied the law. The last word of Jesus on the Cross, ‘it is finished’ signifies that every of our misdeeds had been fully paid for. This means that He took all the punishments of the Law and legally became sin for us. It would therefore be an illegality for us to be punished again. Legally, Jesus received all the penalties of sin. He became the price for sin (John 1:29, Hebrew 9:26). Now that sin has been dealt with through the sacrifice of Christ, man has now been granted access to God. We now have a right standing with God and can now access the blessings of God. The arrival of Christ is the arrival of blessing (Ephesians 1:3). In the spiritual realm, faith is the purchasing currency. This is the mystery of the new covenant. It is the fulfillment of the law and the prophets. Keeping account of sin and inflicting punishments was the duty of the old covenant. The New Testament does not keep such accounts; rather it utilizes the finished work of Christ to enforce our freedom.

Christ is our source. He paid the ultimate price through His sacrificial death. Therefore, He became our substitute. We are the products or the offshoots of the New Testament. This is why, in Him, we are accepted in the beloved; in Him, we are justified; in Him, we are sanctified and in Him; we have become the glory of God. All we need to do is to enforce the priesthood of Jesus (John 1:12).

INSTRUCTION: Believe that Jesus Christ became your substitute.

PRAYER: I am a product of the New covenant, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: We have a right to God’s blessings through faith in Christ Jesus.

THE FACTS OF THE GOSPEL

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The gospel of Christ is the power of God.

From what I taught yesterday, you can clearly tell anyone what the gospel is all about. The gospel of Christ is the power of God. Whenever a message is preached and is devoid of specific facts; it is no longer the gospel of Christ but another gospel.

Only the gospel of Christ describes the power of God. What then are the specific facts you should look for in a message, irrespective of who preaches it, where and when. The following are the concrete elements that constitute the basis for the gospel of Christ:

Christ died for man’s sin. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:3‘For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures’ and in John 1:29 the Apostle John is reported of saying ‘John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world’.Also 2 Corinthians 5:21 [NIV] says ‘God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God’.Jesus Christ never committed sin, but He received man’s sin and died.

Another fact to establish in a gospel is the burial of Christ. There can’t be burial without death. Christ died and He was buried. He actually went to Hell – appeared before the Supreme Court of the Universe for judgement. Bear in mind that the accuser the devil accuses the brethren day and night. So, Christ had to be judged. We read in 1 Timothy 3:16 ‘And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory’. It is in Hell that Christ was judged in the Spirit. He was justified – not found guilty of the charges leveled against Him! Yes, Christ was judged, discharged and acquitted. This is part of the vital components of the Gospel of Christ that must be preached!

He rose again the third day. This report is made by the scriptures! It is not an assumption. There are specific and emphatic documentations in the scripture to this effect: that Christ rose the third day. Read Luke 24:1-8; Romans 1:4; 1 Corinthians 20.

INSTRUCTION: In every message preached, look for the facts of the Gospel of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for the revelation on what the gospel of Christ is, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: The gospel is the goodnews about the birth, death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God. (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the Holy Scriptures,) -Romans 1:1-2

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The gospel of God was centered on Jesus Christ our Lord, and nothing else!

The gospel of God spoke of by Apostle Paul was the news that was announced by the prophets in the old testament. Verses 3 and 4 convey specific words concerning God’s Son, Jesus Christ, who was in the flesh made from the Seed of David. ‘Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead’. The gospel explains that Christ is the power of resurrection from the dead. It can be summed up in this way; that the gospel of God is about the resurrection of Jesus, and the power of Jesus Christ.

Paul explained that the gospel of God was centered on Jesus Christ our Lord, and nothing else! The gospel tells us that Christ would be resurrected by the Spirit, from the dead. This is a clear indication that it was a promise, that Christ will come, suffer, die and then be resurrected.

Paul stated in verse sixteen of Romans chapter one “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” It can be deduced that Paul says that the Gospel of Christ is the power of God and vice versa, and he made his stand clear on this matter – he was not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ! The resurrection of Christ from death is the power of the gospel.

Again, Paul in Romans 10:9 states that God raised Christ from the dead. He pointed out that salvation emanates from your confession of the resurrection of Christ. ‘That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.’ The power of God is basically concerning Jesus resurrection from death. This is the Gospel!

INSTRUCTION:

Jesus Christ is the Gospel of God. Confess Him and be saved!

PRAYER: Thank you Lord Jesus, for the knowledge of salvation by you.

QUOTE: You only confess Christ to be saved.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE WISDOM OF GOD

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man’ - Luke 2:52.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Jesus Christ is your wisdom. Men have no right to resist you!

The Bible reports positively on the early life of Jesus Christ on Earth. In His incarnate form, Jesus exhibited profound degree of wisdom that confounded the adult learned men. The wisdom was expressly acknowledged during a teaching session He had with doctors at the temple in Jerusalem during the annual festivities of the Jewish religion. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions, and all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers’ (Luke 2:46-47).You cannot have Jesus and your status remains the same. You are in favour with God because you are in Christ. Jesus Christ cannot be in favour with God and I am not in favour with God. 1 Corinthians 1:30 Jesus is my wisdom. Men have no right to resist you.

Today’s reference text says that Jesus increased in wisdom and stature. The Spirit of God at work in Him activated His understanding of spiritual matters and also accelerated His physical growth Luke 2:40 says ‘And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him’. The spirit, wisdom and grace of God permeated the personality of Jesus Christ; hence He taught the Jewish religious leaders! Important lessons can be drawn from this. First, your ascension in life is a function of the wisdom you have.

Secondly Jesus is the wisdom of God. An excerpt of Paul’s prayer to brothers in the Ephesian church says ‘That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him’ (Ephesians 1:17).Wisdom is a spirit – the life-giving Spirit who is Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:30 puts it this way ‘But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom …’ Christ is the wisdom of God. No one comes to Him and does not grow in understanding and wisdom. ‘But unto them which are called, … Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God’ (Ephesians 1: 24). The spirit of wisdom functions in a believer and empowers him to make exploits because Christ lives in him. Christ is your wisdom; men have no right to resist you!

INSTRUCTION:Christ is the power and wisdom of God. Accept Him!

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for this revelation, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: A change in your status is a proof that wisdom is at work in your life.

JESUS CHRIST: HIS ROLE AS YOUR HIGH PRIEST

“Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus”. Hebrews 3:1 (NKJV)

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:

After you have been saved from sin, there is a need to know.

Jesus is our High Priest and He is not our high priest for nothing. He is duly authorized to minister in holy things. As our Priest He is the middleman between God and man, receiving our prayers and confessions. Praying is not a problem but how you pray matters most. You cannot pray an Old Testament prayer and expect a New Testament Priest to answer you. Jesus is not aware of any prayer that is not in line with His finished work.

So, when you pray, you must do so with the mindset of Christ’s resurrection and His exalted office as the Kings of Kings and Lord of Lords. The power of God is the finished work of Christ. Jesus does not represent the levitical order but that of Melchisedec. Hebrews 7:11-12 says “If therefore perfection were by the levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law”. Praying an Old Testament prayer in a New Testament is like operating military rules in a democratic system .It will not just work. Your prayers of lamentations and outcries are a noise to God.

No matter the heaviness of your heart, always remember that Jesus is our mercy seat. Let His sacrificial death and glorious resurrection constantly brighten your countenance. God is eternally happy with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Ark of the Covenant (Hebrews 9:1-5). Apostle Paul speaking in Hebrews 9:26 says “For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself”. You do not have sin problem but a belief problem. Many folks have had great difficulties in believing that Christ’s death abolished sin. John 1:29 says “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world”. Sin is a nature and it is strange to God because God never created it. Sin is an enemy to God and that is why Jesus came to deal with it once and for all time. Jesus ended sin matter forever.

INSTRUCTION:Engage the priesthood of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for standing in the gap for me, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: Praying an Old Testament prayer in a New Testament is like operating military rules in democracy.

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR HIGH PRIEST?

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession”. Hebrews 4:14

LIGHT FOR THE NOW:

After you have been saved from sin, there is a need to know.

It is disheartening for people who call themselves believers to be perpetual complainers! God had made all necessary provisions for you to live. It is your responsibility to make your life comfortable. God had put everything in place for you to harness and address your needs.

Let it be well known to you that God is not responsible for your suffering, as some folks erroneously assert! 1 John 1:5 says “This is the message which we have heard of him, and declared unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all”. Darkness are things and situations which do not be-speak the glory of God. Poverty, sickness, lack and such sorrowful situations cannot be associated with God. These negative trends can only be traceable to lazy, unproductive men, who have refused to appropriate God’s provisions for them. It is interesting to note from today’s text, that at Jesus’ resurrection, Christ cleared the airways so to speak, so your prayers can no longer be hindered! When you speak to God in prayer, remember that Christ is not in the Levitical order. You must of a necessity, recognize Him in His office, this entails aligning your words in accordance with what He has done, and is doing as your High Priest.

Do you know that Christ intercedes for your ignorance and has compassion for you, so you can come to the accurate knowledge of God? Yes, that is what He does as your High Priest. You cannot relate with or receive from God in your ignorance. In knowledge, Hannah had a mouth-closing testimony. The account of 1 Samuel 2:1-3 states “And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let no arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.’ In salvation, there are engagement and joy.

Hannah recognized that the Lord is a God of knowledge. You cannot fail in what you know. Hannah knew God, hence, she did not fail. Walking into salvation is not all there is; you must know what is obtainable to make your life meaningful. How well do you know your High Priest? The precise knowledge of Christ makes a huge difference in the life of a believer.

In all you know, endeavor to have an accurate knowledge of your High Priest - Jesus Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for standing in the gap for me, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: You cannot fail in what you know.

CHRISTIANITY – A FELLOWSHIP

“God is faithful, by whom ye are called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” – 1Corinthians 1:9

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Christianity is not a mere religion. It is about fellowship.

Real or authentic Christianity is God alive and functioning in a human person. It is the very life of Christ in a human body; divinity at work in humanity. This is what many people have not understood about Christianity. They still see Christianity as a religion. But Christianity is not a mere religion. It is about fellowship. Christianity is about a living relationship with a living God. This is what the sacrifice of Jesus made possible for us: to have fellowship with God. This is the greatest achievement. Everything else we could ever want is in our fellowship with God. The greatest glory of Christianity is in our fellowship with God. Once you come into that relationship, everything changes for you. The sacrifice of Jesus brought us into oneness, communion, partnership, union and comradeship with the Almighty God. He died, was buried and God raised Him up with a new kind of life.

The Bible says He was “crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man” (Hebrews 2:9). He did all He did to bring us into a divine, heavenly life. Now, we are partakers of the divine nature. The Bible says He has “raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6). He brought us into Himself. Now, from Him, in Him and through Him, we are reigning in life. This is what Christianity is all about; God at work in a man. It is a call to fellowship, to oneness with divinity. You have the divine life of God at work in you and you are in an everlasting fellowship with Him. This is the real experience. He took up His abode in you for you to live in, and through Him. Get to know the reality of this relationship and live beyond the senses of Christianity as a mere religion.

INSTRUCTION: live above the sense of Christianity being a mere religion.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for bringing me into fellowship with you through Christ Jesus, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: Christianity is not a mere religion.

A CONSUMMATION OF THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT

“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and bowed his head, and gave up the ghost” - John 19:30

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The true seed of Abraham was Christ and not Isaac.

When Jesus said “It is finished”, it was just the beginning of His redemptive work. The word “It is finished” means I have completely fulfilled the law and all that are contained in it. Jesus was a consummation of the Abrahamic covenant. Jesus was born in the lineage of Abraham because He was circumcised and redeemed (as the one that opened the matrix of the womb).  Jesus grew under the law. Galatians 4:4-5 says “But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons”. The law (Old Testament) came when the children of Israel rejected the grace of God, but the New Testament is the covenant that God made with Abraham. The two covenants operated under priesthood: Old Testament belongs to thelevitical order while the New Testament is the Melchizedekian order. In the Old Testament, priesthood was appointed to men but in the New Testament, everybody is a priest (Revelation 5:10).This is because God’s original plan has been to make everybody a priest. Abrahamic covenant functions in the platform of possibilities – where everybody is a priest. Abraham enjoyed the grace of God, lived by faith and lived an easy life. What made the Abrahamic covenant incomplete was that Christ was yet to come (Galatians 3:17-19).The commandments of Moses came with limitations. Everything under Mosaic laws was regulated and guided by carnal commandments, which hindered men’s freedom.

But Jesus fulfilled and ended the law. Matthew 5:17 says “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil”. Also, Ephesians 2:15 says “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace”. Jesus ended the reign of the law. As a new man in Christ, you are not limited, restricted, pocketed nor truncated but you are liberated. For you to enjoy the blessing of Abraham, it means that the person who removed the embargo has become your blessing. Even for Abraham to enjoy the blessing, he had to wait for the coming of Christ. Abraham rejoiced when he saw the person of Christ. Galatians 3:29 says “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”. This means once you are in Christ, you are automatically connected to the blessing of Abraham. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Receive Christ and enjoy the blessing of Abraham.

PRAYER: Lord, I connect to the blessing of Abraham through Christ in Jesus name.

QUOTE: Christ is the end of the law.

POWER TO REIGN IN HIS NAME

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth’ go ye therefore, and teach all nations...
