THE REMISSION OF SIN

“For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” Matthew 26:28

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The price Jesus paid brings righteousness and justification.

The word, ‘remission’ means to take away or to be removed. The blood of the New Testament has taken away judgment for all. Romans 3:24-26 says, “Being justified freelyby his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus”. Anytime a man believes in redemption, he is justified. The price Jesus paid brought righteousness and justification. His righteousness does not require any work from us (Ephesians 1:7). Riches refer to the abundance of His love. If it is not redemption, then there is no freedom (1John 2:2; John 1:29). Our redemption is in Him, nothing is required from us. Moral life is good for your testimony here on earth but it cannot meet the demands of justice.

Until you accept the free gift of God, it cannot be yours. The Bible records that our holiness is like filthy rags before God.  No work is strong enough to qualify you before divinity. God is only pleased when Jesus is at work in your life. All the plan of God is Him and Him alone. Now that you are in Christ, you do not have any outstanding payment because all have been paid in Christ. Sin was the offence and death was the penalty (Romans 6:23). Accepting the finished work of Christ on the cross exempts you from judgment. If Jesus did not become a curse for us, redemption would be far from us. It is not our deeds that determine our stand with God but it has a lot to do with what Christ has done (Romans 5:8-10). Sanctification is your nature in Christ. It is a gift received through Christ (Hebrews 10:10-14).

INSTRUCTION:Be conscious of the finished work of Christ for you.

PRAYER:Lord, thank you for the price you paid for me on the cross, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: Christ is the meeting point between God and man.
