POWER TO REIGN IN HIS NAME

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth’ go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Matthew 28:18-19

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: All power, not some power has been given to Jesus.

Power here is the Greek word, ‘exousia’ which means authority. All power, not some power has been given to Jesus, in heaven and on earth. The Bible says in Colossians 2:15, “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly triumphing over them in it”. When Jesus died, He didn’t ascend to heaven immediately. He had been made sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21), and had to go to hell on behalf of all men. When He got to hell, there was an actual combat between Jesus and the forces of darkness. The Bible says, “…the hostile princes and rulers He shook off from Himself and marched them naked on the streets” (Colossians 2:15 MSG). You do not march a man naked on the streets unless you have conquered him. In hell, Jesus invaded Satan’s domain, whipped him and all his demons, and came out triumphantly from the grave. When He came out, He said to his disciples, ‘All Hail’. This was a shout of victory, because He had conquered Satan for us and given us dominion over the powers of darkness.

Jesus says, “Behold, I give unto you power to thread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). The power to rule and reign in His Name has been handed over to us. We must therefore be conscious of our authority and dominion in Christ Jesus. Jesus did not take the power He collected from Satan to heaven. He handed it over to us. We must therefore use this power to subdue territories and kingdoms. We have the power to reign and rule in His Name.

INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge that you have the power over Satan and circumstances.

PRAYER: I am born of God; therefore I overcome the world, in Jesus Name. Amen.

QUOTE: A king that is in power and knows not is like a beast that perisheth.

THE GIFT OF SALVATION

“I assure you, anyone who hears what I say and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life. They will not be judged guilty. They have already left death and have entered into life” – John 5:24(NLT)

LIGHT FOR NOW: You are saved. Believe and confess it.

The message of salvation centers on the person of Jesus. To know salvation, you must know the scriptures because the scripture is the bridge we cross to the love of God. As a Christian, you do not need to live your life based on feelings and assumptions. Feelings and assumptions have never put things right. Never assume that because you are in church that qualifies you to be saved. Salvation is about faith in Christ. It is faith in the finished work of Christ that makes you saved. As a regenerated son of God, the deep understanding you have about salvation equals to the love of God in your life. Until you know salvation, you cannot have joy, peace and happiness in your life because salvation is the cure for worries, sadness etc. The more you ignore salvation, the more you afflict your life with sorrows.

No matter what life throws at you, never lose sight of your salvation. For the joy of the Lord is your strength. Never accept defeat. Rather, keep on declaring that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. If Christ cannot be defeated, then you cannot be defeated for your life is hid with Christ in God. Beloved, you have a right standing with God. God is not angry with you. Because you are in Christ, you are now at peace with God. You have come into union, at-one-ment with God. Therefore, it is your responsibility to believe and confess because salvation is to believe in God’s own commitment and what He has already fulfilled in Christ on your behalf.

INSTRUCTION: You are saved. Believe and confess it.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for saving me, I know I have a right standing with God, in Jesus Name!

THE TRUE NATURE OF GOD

“for I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” – Romans 8:38-39

LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus is God who came in human flesh.

The true nature of God is love. God manifested his love through the sacrificial death of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. The believer in Christ Jesus has love and faith free of charge. When you get born again, you understand the love of God. The love of God surpasses every negative knowledge of the carnal man. Once you are filled with the love of Christ which passes all understanding, you become filled with the totality of God. You become a residential address of God. You are a god walking on the face of the earth; a mobile God. Jesus is the love of God expressed. He is the prototype which mass-produced all those who believe in Him. The moment Jesus defeated death, sin, grave and all negativities, he took charge. Jesus is God who came in human flesh to express the singular character of God. Jesus is the replication of God’s consistent character. God coming as a man is love demonstrated. The three days of death, burial and resurrection that Jesus spent in the grave is the demonstration of the love of God. He went to the grave as a man but returned as the Holy Spirit.

The love of Christ is unearned, unmerited and unsolicited. God loves you so much that He demonstrated it in the gift of Christ. It was out of love that God has brought you into a place of union and intimacy with Himself. Man sinned and fell short of the glory of God. God had to step out of Himself to become a man in order to reconcile man back to Himself.

INSTRUCTION: Walk in your true identity and nature.

Prayer: Lord, I need revelation knowledge of you, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: You cannot know yourself until you know Christ.

LIVE AN IMPACTFUL LIFE

“Don’t get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don’t give up” – Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

LIGHT FOR NOW: Never live for yourself only. Learn to give meaning to other people’s lives.

Life is all about giving and receiving. However, some people only take, and never give in return. All their lives, they have been receiving, but have never been challenged to give. A man could be alive in this world but ‘dead’ because he is non-functional in his environment. That is because nobody benefits from his life; he merely exists to balance out the ecosystem. But life can be much more meaningful and exciting than that! A meaningful and impactful life is one that has significance in the lives of others. It is impacting your world positively with the talents, gifts and endowments God has blessed you with. So beginning from where you are, and with what you have, you become relevant to others. You help them meet their needs and solve their problems. This should be your guiding principle in life. Never leave ugly situations the same way you met them.

Imagine a nurse who has to treat many sick people in the hospital in a day; that’s a great opportunity for him or her to live a meaningful and impactful life and give other people’s lives a meaning. How? By showing those patients extra care and love; an endeavour that will certainly bring them hope and comfort. Another nurse could look down on the job and even despise having to be around so many sick people because she hasn’t learnt what it means to live a meaningful and impactful life. Never live as a ‘grabber’ or a taker. Only taking but never giving. Learn to give other people’s lives a meaning. That is what counts. God will surely reward you for the good you do for others. He will always make happen for you what you make happen to others.

INSTRUCTION: Always live an impactful life.

PRAYER: Father, give me the grace to touch lives whenever an opportunity comes up, in Jesus Name. Amen.

RECEIVE THE BLESSING

“ And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice” – Genesis 22:18

LIGHT FOR NOW: If you refuse the Blessing; you will miss the blessings.

The Blessing is a person of Jesus. Jesus is the Word that became flesh. The blessing is therefore the word spoken in someone’s life to cause positive changes. You must understand that when one is blessed, it does not matter any other word spoken against the person, he is blessed for life. In blessing, there is no second option. There is a need to know that there is a difference between blessings and the Blessing. Blessings can come your way in form of money, riches and other material things in order to solve a problem at a particular time. But the Blessing is the person of Jesus Christ. When you come into Christ, you come into the blessing such that no matter where you find yourself, be it in the desert or wilderness, you manifest it. The blessing is God in you. God gave Himself to Abraham. God has also given Himself to us in the person of Christ. The blessing is a personality and that personality is Christ Jesus. If you refuse the Blessing; you miss the blessings.

It is the blessing that takes care of other pressing needs. When you carry the Blessing, you manifest the blessings. The Blessing is a guarantee of all blessings, therefore go for the Blessing first (Matthew 6:33). In blessing, it takes a higher authority for it to be enforced. “And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better” (Hebrews 7:7). To this end, Jesus – the Highly Exalted One is the final authority that enforces the blessings on your life. In Him, you have been blessed with all spiritual things. Receive Christ, receive the Blessing.

INSTRUCTION: Receive Christ, Receive the Blessing.

Prayer: Lord, I have the Blessing, I will manifest my blessings, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: When you carry the Blessing, you will manifest your blessings.

SALVATION: THE LOVE OF GOD TOWARDS MAN

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” – John 3:16

LIGHT FOR NOW: Gods love through Christ is revealed in Salvation.

Salvation is through faith in Christ Jesus. A man can only be saved through faith in Christ Jesus. To understand salvation, you must understand the love of God. To understand salvation, you must know the scriptures because it is only the scriptures that can make one wise into salvation. To know is to perceive; to be acquainted with. It does not in any way mean to quote the scriptures. It is possible to quote what you do not know. To be wise is to be skillful; able to communicate. It is different from being gifted or talented. To be able which is translated from the Greek word, “dunami” is to have ability. It is important to note that all scriptures are profitable for the teaching of the love of God which is salvation. You cannot profit from what you do not know. The subject matter or the message of the scriptures is centered on the person of Jesus. The summary of the scripture is a person (John 5:39). Every doctrine, teaching, explanation or opinion on the subject matter of salvation must have its base from the truth revealed in the scriptures. The scriptures remain the only basis for our faith in Christ. To see the picture of Jesus, you must look at the scriptures. To believe is to have faith in Christ. The message of the prophets made faith available for the Old Testament believer. Their utterances were about the suffering of Christ and the glory that should follow.

It is for the purpose of knowing that God inspired the holy men to write the scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16-17). To be thoroughly furnished unto every good work is to be equipped with the right knowledge. The scriptures equip us unto every good work. You are not effective until you know. You are not perfect until you have an accurate and precise knowledge of Christ. The knowledge you have is the source of your spiritual power. The knowledge of the scripture is very important in your walk of faith. When you understand your authority, you have confidence. Your confidence is in the knowledge that you have. Without an accurate and precise knowledge of the person of Christ, you will not be able to fulfill the will of God for your life. Jesus is the perfect will of God. Until you know Christ, you cannot know the will of God.

INSTRUCTION: Get an accurate knowledge about your salvation.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive revelation knowledge of you, in Jesus Name.

LOVE: THE EXCELLENT WAY OF LIFE

“But covet earnestly the best gifts: and I shew you a more excellent way. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I can move mountains, and have not charity. I am nothing” – 1 Corinthians: 12:31; 13:1-3

LIGHT FOR NOW: God gave Himself so you could live.

In his letter to the church in Corinth, the Apostle Paul listed a number of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the vital role each of them plays in the overall functionality of the church – the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:4-30). However, he made it known that if any believer manifests some or even all of these gifts, but lacks love, such a fellow is nothing. Christ revealed to Paul, and by extension to all believers, that love is the excellent way of life. God is the embodiment of love. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Without love, there is no life. Without extending His love to the world, man wouldn’t have eternal life. Christ is the epitome of love. Christ is the revelation of the love of God to man.

God gave Himself so you could live! “For no man has ever loved his friends that he gave his life to them”, but Jesus Christ did just that. “Hereby perceived we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1John 3:16). To what extent can your love go? Is your life ruled by love? Let love be the motivation for your actions. Follow the excellent way of life – Love!!!

INSTRUCTION: Follow the excellent way of life - Love

Prayer: Lord, thank you for loving me, in Jesus Name!

SALVATION: A PROOF OF THE LOVE OF GOD

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” – John 3:16

LIGHT FOR NOW: God’s plan for man is that all men should be saved.

Salvation is a free gift of God to man. There is no exclusion when it comes to the issue of salvation (Titus 2:11). It is made available for all irrespective of your colour, race or tribe. Salvation is not meant for only those already chosen by God. God is not a partial God. Our text for today shows that “whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. Eternal life is for all that believe. John 1:12 also tells us “But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God; even to them that believe on his name”. The qualification for salvation is to believe. Although some people may argue that salvation is for those predestined by election. They fail to understand that predestination by election is premised on foreknowledge. This is to say that we are predestined to be saved or condemned based on the foreknowledge of God depending on whether we will accept the gospel or not.

In Romans 8:29-30, Apostle Paul tells us by the Holy Spirit, “For whom he did foreknow, he also predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified”. Notice the first line of the above scripture. You will see that it is those “whom he did foreknow” that “he also did predestinate”. Therefore, in salvation, it is foreknowledge before predestination.

INSTRUCTION: Believe and be saved.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for your love for me which made you die for my sins so I might be saved, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: In salvation, it is foreknowledge before predestination

YOU SHALL HAVE WHAT YOU SAY (2)

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” – Proverbs 18:21

LIGHT FOR NOW: You cannot say it and have it without being connected to the source of power.

How to say it and have it is first, by being connected to the one who is the Word of God, Jesus (John 1:12). If you do not know or believe in Jesus by receiving Him into your life and confessing Him as your Lord and Saviour, your words will lack the basis upon which it can become flesh. As you wake up in the morning, decide how your day will be and God will honour His word concerning that day. The words we speak are not ordinary words. But they are spirit and they are life (John 6:63). Elisha, the man of God made a decree by speaking a word and it came to pass because he was connected to the King (Jesus). If you are connected to Jesus by your personal relationship with Him; then your words will come with power and authority. Consequently, when you decree a thing, it will be established readily. Through your personal relationship with Jesus, you are now a king and a priest. You must therefore trust in Christ Jesus by depending on His ability, integrity and power (Psalms 56:11).

You must have faith by believing in Jesus and His words because faith does not know impossibilities (Mark 11:22). So keep speaking the word for by doing so you will rule your world.

INSTRUCTION: Study the Word of God and use it as your compass.

Prayer: Lord, help me have faith in you so that as I decree a thing, it comes to pass, in Jesus Name!

YOU SHALL HAVE WHAT YOU SAY (1)

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” – Proverbs 18:21

LIGHT FOR NOW: Words are the windows of your life. Speak the right words at the right time.

The tongue is a carrier or instrument of blessings or curses. Depending on how you use it, your tongue will always produce results in that direction. The Word of God is the vehicle that moves God into action. Therefore, when you locate the Word of God that addresses your situation, keep speaking the word until you obtain the results. A closed mouth is a closed destiny. Think of this, if you sometimes make utterances and they come to pass, how much more so the Almighty God, the Change Agent and the Custodian of power. No problem or situation is bigger than the Word of God. Speak the word of light and God will move into action. The word you speak is the word of faith which produces good results. The Spirit of God is always available to bring about the manifestation of the word. He says that He will do whatever you speak into His ears.

Through the Prophet Isaiah, God reminds us about His faithfulness to His Words. We read in Isaiah 65:24, “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer, and while they are yet speaking, I will hear”. Therefore, let nothing silence you. Speak up and God will answer you. It is only those who call upon the name of the Lord that shall be saved (Romans 10:13). Blind Bartemaeus spoke up and Christ stood still for him. If he closed his mouth, probably he would have died a blind man. God remains God no matter the situations or circumstances of life you find yourself in. it is solely your responsibility to effect the changes you need in your life. Christ has accomplished everything for you, but you have to activate it by constantly declaring. It is by so doing that you can receive it. Speak it and have it.

INSTRUCTION: Speak it and have it.

Prayer: Lord, I sanctify my tongue to speak right words at the right time, in Jesus Name!

THERE IS POWER IN YOUR WORDS

“Through faith we understand that the world was framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” – Hebrews 11:3

LIGHT FOR NOW: We are to speak the Word, God brings it into fulfillment.

Through faith, we understand that everything came into being by the Word of God. To understand this is to have the express knowledge of the realm from which you operate. The World was framed by words (John 1:1). Everything that was made was made by words (Genesis 1:26). Every action taken is an expression of the word. Words are the medium of expression of what is conceived in the heart. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. And the word is in your mouth. In jurisprudence, words are used to pass judgment.  Recall that, after creation, God did not give out names to animals and vegetations. Rather, He empowered Adam to do so and whatever name Adam called is what they answer till today (Genesis 2:19). Our faith can only be professed through words (Genesis 3:15). Words have a creative force.

Man would not embrace the faith if they were not spoken by Christ Himself and the prophets. We only know because knowledge was declared and communicated to us through the use of words (1John 5:20). We are products of the Word. We are born again by the Word of God (1Peter 1:23). The Word of God is the Word of everlasting life. We believe that we are the righteousness of God because it was spoken and written down for our edification.

INSTRUCTION: Speak the word. It is in your mouth.

PRAYER: Father, help me speak positive words into my life, in Jesus Name. Amen.

WALKING IN LOVE

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new – 2 Corinthians 5:17

LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus is the revelation of God to man.

To walk in the newness of life is to walk in the true nature and character of God, because we are born of God. The Bible lets us to know that the singular identity and character of God is love. God is a Spirit and the Spirit of God is the spirit of love, because God is love. The Apostle John clearly explained the nature of God and how it should affect our walk in the new life having received the same nature when we received Christ Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. In 1John 4:7-13, he says, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world  that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we love God but that he loved us, and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him; and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit”.

As believers, our true nature is the nature which we acquired from God, which is love. Romans 5:5 say, “Because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us”. Without an accurate and precise knowledge of God, you cannot know your true nature and you cannot walk in your real identity. To know Christ is to know you. You cannot know yourself until you know Christ. Jesus is the revelation of God to man. When you know Christ, you get to discover yourself and live in your nature.

INSTRUCTION: Walk in your true identity and nature.

Prayer: Lord, I need revelation knowledge of you, in Jesus Name!

HIS DEATH: A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO SIN

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8

LIGHT FOR NOW: Christ died for our sin.

T

he giving of Jesus to us was not His birth or His incarnation. God gave Jesus to us on the Cross where He died. This is why the incarnation of Christ is not the gospel but it is fundamental to the gospel. To pay for sin requires only one step and that is death. Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. Jesus took our place in death that we might have eternal life through Him. Romans 8:32 says “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things”. The word “spared not” is used for judgment. This means God allowed judgment to come on His only Son. Christ’s love for us became His motivation and it became a righteous act for Him to die. The word “delivered up” means to hand over, which is used for betrayal. God never delivered up Jesus to Himself  but to His enemy (death). His death for us was a willing death. Ephesians 5:2 says “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour”. Christ is not trying to love us but He had already loved us to the point of dying for us. He had destroyed him that had the power of death. Hebrews 2:14-15 says “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”. In all that Jesus has done, we are just the beneficiaries. We did not contribute anything. God’s attitude towards sinners is that of favour. God does not use sin, He does not tempt with sin, and He does not overlook sin. God favoured sinners on a legal ground (that is, by the death of His Son). The favour you receive when you have Christ is the same favour you will enjoy all through the days of your life. Matthew 26:28 says “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins”. The word “remission of sin” is from the Greek word “aphesis” which means to take it away or no record for it. Both the nature and acts of sin have been taken away. The blood of Jesus is a permanent solution for sin. His blood has taken sin away from our relationship with God. The moment you come into Christ, sin loses its power over your relationship with God. God stood in eternity and paid for sin for life. This means our sin is eternally forgiven by the one-time death of Christ. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for paying for my sin with your life, in Jesus name.

THE UNDILUTED LOVE OF GOD

“But God commendeth His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” – Romans 5:8

LIGHT FOR NOW:  God does not talk about love; He acts it.

Jesus Christ is the embodiment of love. It was out of his love for you that made him leave his heavenly position to die for you in order to remodel you to be in his class. Jesus is God explaining Himself. When you see Jesus, you see all of God. Redemption was already designed by God. This is the literary meaning of the concept of predestination. It means to foreknow which implies to know beforehand. This is the true nature of God (Romans 11:2). God knew that Jesus Christ will die for the sins of man. This has to do with specific knowledge. The determinate counsel of God was for Christ to die for the sins of man. The love of God is seen in His demonstration. To know the love of God; you must watch His actions keenly. God does not talk about love, He acts it. Love is not in saying, love is in acting. Love must always come with a corresponding action. The birth of Christ was God’s first incarnation in the flesh. He was manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16). Christ was slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8). There is nothing about the birth of Christ that can actually save a man. The giving of the only begotten son was on the cross.

According to Romans 5:8, God does not have any reason for loving you. He died for you even when you were a sinner and of no use whatsoever to him. When you understand the love of God towards you, you will never cease to worship Him both in your service and with your resources. God acted out His love for you.  You must also appreciate His love for you by constantly being at your place of service in church, give your resources to advance the gospel as well as witness Christ to your world. God’s love subsists. If you have the love of God, then you have everything you need in life.

INSTRUCTION: Stay with His love.

Prayer: Father, I appreciate your love for me. I pray for the grace to always appreciate this love by giving out my time and resources for the advancement of the gospel, in Jesus Name!

MIRACLES: THE BELIEVERS’ MAKE-UP

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues” – Mark 16:17

LIGHT FOR NOW:  The Supernatural is domiciled in you.

It is important to note that the realm of the supernatural is the believer’s nature. Nothing on earth is qualified to threaten a man who believes in Christ. The supernatural depicts the rearrangement of natural things. The moment a man receives Christ, he becomes an epitome of miracles. Miracles are not strange to the believer in Christ. There is a need for the believer in Christ to know who he is and what he carries. Miracles are the signs that follow a believer in Christ Jesus. What we see as a miracle is a sign of approval that there is someone behind the scene working things out for your favour. When you see a miracle, it is a pointer to something unique. Miracle is an attraction. It is not the real substance, but there is absolutely no way you can have Christ and miss the miracles. When you have “HIM”, the “IT” becomes all yours. The abandoned pot became the source of the sweetest wine because the “HIM” was involved. The make-up of a believer in Christ is miracles.
When you know your status, your stature does not matter. As a believer in Christ, you are to go about doing good just as Jesus did when he walked on the earth because, as he is, so are you in this world. God’s acts of kindness, compassion, goodness and love was ‘the doing good’ (Matthew 14:14). The healing miracles of Jesus were borne out of his compassionate nature. As a believer in Christ, you have no right to leave ugly situations the same way you meet them. You have been empowered to heal the sick, raise the dead, and turn mourning into dancing. Miracles defy time because time does not control God but God controls time.

INSTRUCTION: Believe in Christ and reclaim your miraculous nature.

Prayer:   Thank you Father for making me a product of miracles, in Jesus Name!

THE LOVE OF GOD (3)

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his Son---to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him; and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit”.

1 John 4:7-13

LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus is the embodiment of God’s love.

The love of Christ is not a mystery. It surpasses all knowledge that the physical world carries. When you know the love of Christ that passes all understanding, you come into the fullness of God. The love of Christ is the love of God. To know the love of Christ is to know the love of God as revealed in Christ. Jesus is the embodiment of God’s love. Jesus is the expression of the love of God. He is God’s love dispensed, poured out, expressed, manifested and displayed. To know the love of God is to know Christ. The moment you get born again, you conform to Christ. When you get born again, the totality of God, all of God’s power and anointing comes into your inside. You become the totality of God; Christ in you, the hope of glory. When Christ rose from the dead triumphantly, defeating sin, death and Satan, He became the first-fruit of the born-again. He was the prototype of the born-again. A prototype is an example. Today, when you believe in Christ and get born again, you are exactly like Jesus; no more, no less for as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).

Whatever cannot fight Jesus cannot fight you. Whatever cannot defeat Jesus cannot defeat you. What is in Jesus is also in you. Whatever that cannot be found in Jesus cannot be found in you. All these identification is to bring us to the love of God. Jesus is the love of God demonstrated. When you look at Jesus, all you will see is the love of God. Jesus is God’s love communicated to mankind. He is God who became a man in order to reveal God to man. Jesus is God who came in human flesh to defend the singular character of God. Jesus did not come to explain God; Jesus is God explaining Himself. He is God revealing Himself in human flesh. This is the love of God.

INSTRUCTION: Believe in the love of God.

Prayer: Father, thank you for loving me this much, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: Jesus is God’s love communicated to mankind.

THE LOVE OF GOD (2)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16

LIGHT FOR NOW:  The consistent character of God is love.

Man sinned. The wages of sin is death. Therefore, man must die. And man did not have the wherewithal to pay for the wages of his sin. But God loves man. God looked at the planet and saw that man did not have what it takes to pay for his sin. Man did not have the resources. Man was broke, helpless and destitute. Nothing on the planet could pay for the sin of man. But God loves man. The consistent character of God is love. God does not kill and make alive. He only makes alive. God does not destroy, He only saves. Jesus is the embodiment of God in human form to give correction to man’s perspective of God. Out of love, God became a man. The earth could not handle God in all His majesty. God had to become a man in order to access the earth and help man (Philippians 2:5-7). Jesus is God in human flesh for the purpose of redemption. God becoming a man is the love of God demonstrated. God loves you so much that He became a man because of you. He did not need to become a man; but out of His love for you, He became a man on your behalf for the purpose of redemption. This is the love of God for you.

Love is the sacrificial work of Christ (Romans 8:32). When you receive Christ, you receive the love of God and when you reject Christ; you reject the love of God. The love of God is a person and not a feeling. Jesus Christ is the love of God. In the love of God demonstrated, the price was eternally paid (Hebrews 10:12). The love of God is demonstrated such that God has brought man into a place of identification with Him such that as He is; so are you in this world. The love of God is in Christ. The believer is in Christ. Therefore, the believer in Christ is in the Love of God. The believer has no love problem because the love of God is shed abroad in his heart by the Holy Ghost.

INSTRUCTION: Believe in the Love of God.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for your love for me. I appreciate the gift of your Son, Jesus to die for my sins and bring me into union with you, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: The believer in Christ has no love problem.

THE LOVE OF GOD (1)

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. – Romans 5:8

LIGHT FOR NOW:  The love of God is not a reward for good deeds.

The believer in Christ is enshrined, intertwined and secured in the love of God. The measure of God’s love is the expense of Christ. Christ is the measure of God’s love; a love beyond measure. The Grace of God is the explanation of the love of God. The love of God is explained by the Grace of God. It is God making us qualified for what He has already provided. In the natural, man loves you based on what he can get from you or as a reward for good deeds. Men’s love is conditional, temporary and emotional. The day you stop giving them what they want, they stop loving you. The good news is that God’s love is not a feeling. God does not have reason(s) for loving us. His love for us is eternal. The love of God is not a reward for our good deeds. We do not even need to be good to earn God’s love. God did not wait for us to be good before He started loving us. He is not trying to love us, he had already loved us. That is why Romans 5:8 says “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”.

God loved us even before we loved Him. He did not wait for us to love Him but He already loved us even while we were dead in trespasses and of no use whatsoever to Him. The love of God for us is not a reaction. God does not react. Nothing takes God unawares. God pro-acts. Everything you need in this life has already been provided. The love of God is that God has brought us into intimacy and in union with Himself. Salvation is all about God coming to man. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For He is our peace, who hath made us one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself twain one new man, so making peace” (Ephesians 2:13-16). Therefore, you have no reason not to enjoy the peace of God. Christ has reconciled us back to God. He has made us one and united with God.

INSTRUCTION: Appreciate the Love of God for you.

PRAYER:  Lord, I appropriate all that the finished work of Christ on the cross has wrought for me, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: The believer in Christ has no love problem.

JESUS: THE REVELATION OF GOD’S LOVE

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. – Romans 5:8

LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus is God’s love in the flesh.

Jesus is God’s unflinching, unfailing and unconditional love manifested. His words, actions and miracles were all love-inspired. Jesus is God’s love in the flesh. Love is the totality of His personality. He couldn’t choose whether to love us or not to love us. He could only love us. In this season of love, you must ponder on Jesus as the revelation of God’s love for you. Think how much He loves you, to have given Himself as a ransom for your sins. He said in John 15:13 (NKJV), “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends”. Christ did exactly that for us. He died for our sins.

We must therefore make his love our heart-felt contemplation; stay and be at rest, in His unrivalled and unconditional love for us. To comprehend this truth is to awaken in you, your value and you will never be discouraged, despondent, fearful, intimidated nor ashamed irrespective of the challenges of life. Your consciousness of His love for you will make you a success and a victor for life. “Behold what matter of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God…”. As a son of God, you have the boldness to ask and receive whatever you need in life. God is not angry with you. You have been accepted in the beloved.

INSTRUCTION: Be ever conscious of the love of God for you.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for loving me this much, and I’m ever conscious of your love for me even as I express same to my world, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: God’s love is revealed in Christ.

THE REALITY OF GOD’S LOVE

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16

LIGHT FOR NOW:

God’s love to man is not a feeling but Christ.

The love of God is different from human’s love. Men love others based on what they can get. God had already loved us while we were still hopeless, helpless and useless. From our anchor scripture, Christ is the love of God towards man. Christ is the embodiment of God’s love. When you receive Christ, you have received God’s love. Christ is the love of God manifest, dispensed and expressed. The love of God is the sacrificial work of Christ. You can only comprehend the love of God when you are born again. This is because the day you got born-again, you conform to Christ. God becoming a man was the love of God for man. As a believer, you are in God’s love because you are in Christ and Christ is the love of God. Christ paid for us to become the beneficiaries of God’s love. The love of God is explained in the grace of God. The grace of God is the expression of God’s love. Christ is the love of God. Hallelujah!

INSTRUCTION:

Stay in God’s love.

PRAYER:

Father, thank you for your love towards me, in Jesus name!

QUOTE: Love does not have reason(s).

TRUE PROSPERITY

“And he went on to say to them all, Watch out and guard yourselves from every kind of greed; because your true life is not made up of the things you own, no matter how rich you may be” – Luke 12:15 (GNB).

LIGHT FOR NOW: Life is not defined by material blessings.

In his letter to Gaius, the Apostle John established the fact that God wants every one of us to prosper. He cares about you and desires that you prosper spiritually, mentally, physically and materially. He wants things to turn out well for you. He desires that you excel and be in good health always: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (3 John 1:2). But there is a need to know that prosperity is beyond the acquisition of material possessions. It isn’t defined by the number of cars, houses, yachts, jets or properties you have. Otherwise, those who have the most material possessions in the world would be the most fulfilled, but they are not. Many have been frustrated in life because they measured themselves by the world’s symbols of prosperity. They have not realized that prosperity is first and foremost a state of mind – a mind that is in contact with God. It is a life that is connected to God and has rest, peace and a sense of fulfillment. Life is not defined by material blessings.

When you understand this, whatever you have, no matter how small it may seem in the eyes of others, would be enough and able to accomplish all that God has called you to do. Whatever God has given to you is a seed. So, true prosperity is having the mindset that what you have is sufficient to accomplish God’s purpose for your life. Such an understanding from the Word of God helps you to be more balanced in your expectations and in your view of life. Plant your seed and it will produce a harvest. This brings to mind what Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:12; “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need”. You must learn to be content with whatever God has brought your way. Prosperity is not measured in material possessions.

INSTRUCTION: Be contented with what you have.

PRAYER: Father I thank you for every good thing available to me in Christ, in Jesus Name. Amen.
QUOTE: Prosperity is not measured by the number of material blessings you have.
