GOSPEL: THE CURE FOR MAN’S PROBLEM

And this gospel of the kingdom must be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” Matthew 24:4

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Wherever you find the gospel, you must find miracles following.

The gospel is called the Good news. In the Old Testament, it was called the glad tiding which was coded. Everything about the Old Testament is coded. Isaiah in his prophecy as found in Isaiah 61:1 says, “The spirit of the Lord is upon me for he has anointed me to preach good tidings”. Glad tidings mean Good news. Jesus himself in Luke 4:18 confirmed this prophecy.  Therefore, Gospel simply means good news. Solomon in Proverbs 25:25 described the gospel as water that quenches the thirst of a man, “as cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country”. The far country here refers to heaven or the spirit realm. This glad tiding is from the spirit realm manifesting here in the physical. Jesus came from heaven and is solving our problems. This is what Jesus preached all through his ministry here on earth (Matthew 4:23; Matthew 9:35). Wherever you find the gospel, you must find miracles. Before any miracle, the gospel must first be taught or preached. It is also important to note that as Jesus was about ascending, He commanded His disciples to continue from where He stopped. The Gospel must therefore be the message of the church (Mark 16:15). Unfortunately, the church has been distracted from the command of Jesus which was on the teaching of the gospel and focused on miracles.

The gospel is not emotional good news. It is not a Good News that makes you happy for a moment. It is not about temporary happiness. The Gospel is the message of Christ. It is the message of the entire Bible. Inside the gospel, there is power, healing, prosperity and miracles. The power of God is not about people falling down. The power of God is not an event. The power of God is a person. Whenever we talk about the power of God, we are referring to the person of Christ. It is about the salvation, redemption and forgiveness of sins. The gospel is so important that God Himself had to preach the gospel to Abraham. The reason we are traced to Abraham is because Abraham, received, accepted and believed the gospel (Galatians 3:8).  For the news to be good, it must be relevant to hearer’s condition.  It must be for all if the news must be good. It is not all that are poor, sick or in need of help but it is on record that all have sinned (Romans 3:23). This is why the gospel is for all. The gospel is about the remission of sins.

INSTRUCTION: Stay on the Gospel of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, let the message of Christ be evident in my life, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: The Gospel dispels negativity.

THERE IS NO LIFE OUTSIDE CHRIST

“For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 6:10-11.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The life we have in Christ is eternal and it is not corrupt.

When we receive Christ, we receive His death. We were also buried with Him. The life we live now in Christ is called a new life which is eternal life and eternal life is not corrupt. Christ redeemed us from sin, sickness and death. A born again child of God has no sin to transgress. Jesus is the end of the law (Romans 10:4). The law is not for the righteous man (1Timothy 1:9-10). Jesus came to fulfil the law. In the New Testament, whatever is not of faith is sin. If you doubt, you are damned (Romans 14:23). We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). What makes you a believer in Christ is faith. Anything about your life that is out of faith is sin. As a born again child of God, you have been accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6). Being born again means you are dead to sin and come alive in Christ (John 5:24). When you live by the law, you live a defeated life. A born again child of God lives his life by what Jesus did and not on family traditions and customs. The Bible speaking in 1 Peter 1:18 says, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:’

If God is the Head of the body of which you are a member, then you have everything. God can provide all your needs. All you need to do is to trust and reverence Him. It makes no sense to say that the head is well but the body is sick or that the head is rich but the body is in lack. As Jesus is, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17). The more you begin to see that you are one with Christ, the more you will realize that whatever you need right now, He is dispensing it to you. In God’s perfect will, there is no sickness, poverty nor death. So there should be no sickness, poverty nor death traceable to you. There should be nothing missing, broken or lacking in you because in Him you live, move and have your being. Beloved, have the rich mind-set and revelation that Christ and you are one. You can never be separated from Christ your head from whom comes all the supply you need.

INSTRUCTION: Look to Jesus and live.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive life in abundance in Jesus Name.

QUOTE: A true son trusts the Father for all he needs.

YOUR LIFE IS HID IN CHRIST

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory” Colossians 3:3-4.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Once you were dead, but now you are alive in Christ.

When you get born again, Christ becomes your new life. Your life is hid with Christ in God. At new birth, you received eternal life which supplanted the old natural human life with the divine life. The life you have now is called the Higher Life, the Christ-life or the God-kind of life. Christ Jesus took the depraved, defeated and destroyed human life away from you. The life of sin, failure, defeat, sickness, rejection and shame was taken away from you, and in replacement, He gave you a life of righteousness, honour, peace and glory. Once you were dead, but now, you are alive in Christ. If Christ is your new life, it therefore means that everything about your life is Christ. If Christ cannot suffer blood diseases or any sickness, you that your life is now hid in Christ, is not permitted to suffer blood diseases or any sickness of any type. The truth is that all the problems associated with your old natural life had been taken away the moment you got born-again.

The Bible in 2Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things are become new”. The word, ‘behold’ means to see, to reckon or to think. God wants you to see yourself as a new man that you are. You are now in Christ and Christ is in you. Christ is your new world. Therefore, it does not matter what happened to you in the past, Christ in you makes you whole, well and sound. Have and walk in this consciousness. Be bold and fearless, full of faith and confidence because now that you are born again, your life is hid in Christ. Whatever cannot harm Christ cannot harm you. Hallelujah!!

INSTRUCTION: Be conscious that your life is hid in Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I enforce redemption over my life, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: If Christ cannot be destroyed, you cannot be destroyed.

THE POWER OF THE BLOOD (2)

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” Hebrews 9:22

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: The blood is a person.

Yesterday, we established that the shedding of the blood of Christ took place at the mercy seat in the holy of holies and not at Calvary. But what kind of blood did Christ shed at the mercy seat? A close and spirit led interpretation of the scriptures tells us that the blood Jesus shed at the mercy seat was not his liquid blood. Jesus was not carrying any physical liquid blood when he rose from the dead. He presented Himself. This is to say that the blood of Christ is the person of Christ. The blood is a person. When Jesus rose from the dead and Mary saw Him and tried to come close, Jesus told her “…Touch me not; for I am yet ascended to my Father” (John 20:17). Remember that Jesus was to ascend into heaven (the immaterial and invisible realm) both as an High Priest and, to offer himself to God not his liquid blood. So, the appearance of Jesus before the Father in heaven was the offering of himself. Hebrews 9:11-12 says, “But Christ being come an high priestof good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us”.  Also, Hebrews 9:23-26 says, “It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with the blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself”.

When the Bible talks about life in the flesh being in the blood (Leviticus 17:11), it is referring to the spirit man not the liquid blood. Have you ever wondered why someone would have an accident and lost almost all his blood yet he wont die, while another would lose no drop of blood yet he dies? This is to tell you that the blood referred to is not the red looking liquid but the eternal spirit in the man. Therefore, Jesus through the eternal spirit, which is the life of the flesh in the blood, offered himself without spot to God for our sins (Hebrews 9:14). Hallelujah!!

INSTRUCTION: Never misuse the blood of Jesus

PRAYER: Lord, I acknowledge the power that is in your name.

QUOTE:  When you call the name of Jesus as an office and authority and not as in letters, situations change for the better.

THE POWER OF THE BLOOD (1)

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” Hebrews 9:22

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: Life is in the blood.

After the resurrection of Christ, the concluding part of the Cross He needed to fulfill was to shed or sprinkle his blood at the mercy seat for the remission of sins. This concept of shedding/ sprinkling the blood is one of the most misunderstood concepts of redemption in the church today. Many believe that the blood Jesus shed was His physical liquid blood. Others believe that He shed his blood at Calvary where He died, while others even believe that He started shedding His blood from where He was arrested in the garden and beaten, up to Calvary where He died; which would mean He shed His blood more than once. The concept of shedding or sprinkling of blood entails sacrificing the life that is in that blood. Remember, the life of the flesh is in the blood (Leviticus 17:11a). But the same blood when given on the altar becomes an atonement or sacrifice for sins (Leviticus 17:11). This is why our text for today says, “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission”.

Ignorance of the concept of the shedding / sprinkling of blood has made the blood of Christ look powerless; especially in the midst of shouting, sprinkling, applying or pleading the blood of Jesus, when faced with danger. In fact, the most amazing aspect is when we begin to plead the blood of Jesus like a talisman, with the mentality of spraying a liquid substance. We must note that the act of shedding or sprinkling of blood did not start in the New Testament, but in the Old Testament. In the old covenant under the levitical order, the blood of the sin offering was not shed or sprinkled where the animal was killed. The animals were to be slaughtered outside the door of the tabernacle; and only the High Priest was permitted under the law to go inside the holy of holies to sprinkle the blood on the mercy seat for the sins of the people (Leviticus 16:7-34; Hebrews 9:1-28). In the New Testament, there was no more earthly tabernacle or holy of holies because when Jesus died at the cross, the curtain of the Holy of Holies was torn (Matthew 27:51). More so, Jesus is not the High Priest of an earthly tabernacle made with hands but of the heavenly (Hebrews 9:11).

INSTRUCTION: Don’t misapply the blood of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for the remission of my sins by the blood and making me blameless before you, in Jesus name!

QUOTE: The blood of Jesus is a person.

DISTINGUISHING THE OLD FROM THE NEW

All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV).

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: If it is not about Christ, it is not the gospel.

The Gospel is a message of a person. If it is not about the person of Jesus, then it is not the Gospel. The believer has no business equating godliness with material things. Jesus is our satisfaction. Godliness with contentment is great gain. It is dangerous to equate spirituality with material wealth. The moment you measure spirituality with material wealth, you become a destitute. The believer has the joy of salvation. Once you lose that joy, depression sets in. the Gospel is the message of Christ and it is the power of God unto salvation. The New Testament makes the Old Testament retired. The Bible in Hebrews 8:7-9 says, “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to lead them out of land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord”.

The ministration of the old covenant was death and the ministration of the New Testament gives life. The old covenant was life before the cross and the New covenant is life after the cross. The Law was not for the believer in Christ Jesus. It was for the sinners (quote Galatians 3:17-18). The covenant in Christ predated the law. The law was an addendum to what God had already planned for man. It was an addition. The old covenant was based on what you can do while the New covenant is based on what Christ has done.

INSTRUCTION:Let go of the old. Embrace the new.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for making me a partaker of the glorious gospel of Christ in Jesus Name. Amen

QUOTE: The New Covenant makes the old covenant retired.

THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST (2)

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God Romans 8:19.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: As a believer in Christ Jesus, you are to manifest or function in the awareness or consciousness of who you are.

If you do not understand the character of God, you cannot walk in faith. Faith reveals the character of God. When you understand God’s character, you receive from God with ease. Fear is perverted faith. The reason a man is afraid is because he believes in it. Therefore, fear is contaminated faith. Your fear connects you to the object of your fear (Job 1:5). Job operated in the assumption of fear which is sin consciousness. Just as God needs your faith to function, Satan also needs your fear to operate. Jesus is God’s love dispensed to man. He is the love of God demonstrated to man.  Romans 8:32-39 says, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?; who shall lay any charge to God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

If you did not pray for God to give Jesus to you; as a believer in Christ, you have no business praying for material things. Faith is not a tool to get something from God. Faith is who we are, how we live and what we practice. When you understand what faith is, you begin to enjoy the faith life. If you must live a life of faith, you must have a robust, precise and accurate knowledge of Christ. Every operation of faith is at the instance of the knowledge of Christ. When you do not know, Satan hides behind your ignorance and manipulates, intimidates and dominates you through fear.

INSTRUCTION: Have a robust knowledge of the gospel of Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, may I not pray and fast for what unbelievers do not pray to have.

QUOTE: Jesus is the demonstration of the love of God towards man.

THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST (1)

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God Romans 10:17.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: You can only have faith when the gospel of Christ is preached.

The hearing of the gospel is the hearing of faith (Galatians 3:2). The believer in Christ does not a faith problem. A man can only come into salvation through faith (Ephesians 2:8). You can only have faith when the gospel (the message of Christ) is preached. The message of Christ supplies faith to a believer. This is the reason it is called the Word of Faith. The gospel is not a gospel of sin but that of the forgiveness of sins (Acts 13:38-39). Forgiveness of sins is not a prayer, it is a preaching. When you hear and believe; your sins are forgiven (Luke 24:46-47). There is no prayer that can bring forgiveness of sins. Forgiveness of sins is not based on emotional acts. Sin is a legal matter and in legality, sentiments and emotions do not matter. This is the reason there is a legality to the framework of redemption (Romans 6:23). The death of a sinner does not have a legal conviction to free the sinner. It only takes the death of a sinless man to deal with the matter of sin.

There was nothing on earth that could pay for sin. Man was too broke and helpless to pay for the sins of men. But the love of God towards man propelled God to pay for the sins of man. God had to step out of God and take upon humanity in order to redeem man. The earth did not have what it takes to accommodate God in His totality. Divinity had to take on humanity to pay the price of sin. God had to put deity aside and take on mortality for the purpose of death even the death on the cross. Jesus is the price for sin. The wrath of sin was satisfied on the cross. Sin has been paid for therefore; sin no longer has the power to judge man. This is what the gospel supplies to bring faith to the believer.

INSTRUCTION:Believe in the gospel of Christ.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for making me a partaker of the glorious gospel of Christ in Jesus Name. Amen

QUOTE: There is no sentimentality in legality.

THE GOSPEL BRINGS LIFE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith…” Romans 1:16-17

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: There is no other way to learn about, receive, or understand the righteousness of God outside the gospel.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God to save men. His power to bring those who believe out of sin, into the life of righteousness is encapsulated in the gospel of His grace. There is no other way to learn about, receive or understand the righteousness of God outside the gospel. In 2 Timothy 1:10, the Apostle Paul shares another inspiring thought: through the gospel, life and immortality have been brought to light. What kind of life is he referring to? It’s the divine life; the God-type of life. It is this life that makes men sons of God and this life is only in Christ Jesus. 1 John 5:11-12 says, “…this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life”. Being born again, we have not only become righteous, but have also become the unveiling of God’s righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. Righteousness has become the character of your spirit. The ability to be right is inherent in your spirit. You can now live that life of righteousness, the nature of rightness that God has given you, from inside out.

Furthermore, you have, and can live the God-kind of life. This is the overcoming life that makes us superior to Satan, darkness, diseases, sickness, failure, defeat and death. It is a life that is beyond this world. This extraordinary life, along with the gift of righteousness was delivered to us in Christ, through the gospel.

INSTRUCTION: Accept Jesus, accept life.

PRAYER: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, in Jesus name.

QUOTE: Whatever can handle sin, can also handle death.

SHINNING THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid Matthew 5:14.

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: As a believer in Christ Jesus, you are to shine and reflect the light that you are.

As a believer in Christ Jesus, you are to shine the light of the glorious gospel of Christ. This is to say that you are to be the light the world is searching for. The believer in Christ is meant to be a direction giver or a road pointer which everyone around you is looking unto for direction. Your life is meant to shine and reflect the light that you are. You are now wired to outshine all your contemporaries: to be the head and not the tail; the first and not the last; above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13). Jesus says, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 9:5). And before He ascended into heaven, Jesus said, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid” (Matthew 5:14). Then in verse 16, He said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven”.

Therefore, you must stop hiding your star. Go ahead and shine in the Lord; walking in the light of the glorious gospel of Christ. 1 john 1:7 says, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleaneseth us from all sin”.

INSTRUCTION: Go ahead and shine.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for making me a partaker of the glorious gospel of Christ in Jesus Name. Amen

GOD HAS PERFECTED ALL THAT CONCERNS YOU

“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his” Hebrews 4:10

LIGHT FOR THE NOW: You only activate your faith to receive what God has already done.

Many Christians in churches today lack the understanding that God is no longer doing any work on their behalf. No! God is not in heaven trying to fix things on our behalf. He is resting. The account in Genesis Chapter 2 verse 2 states that after God created all He needed to create, God rested. “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which he had done”. This means that God has done everything that He ever needed to do for you to have and enjoy life to the full and now He is resting. Also 2 Peter 1:3 says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue”. When your prayers are answered, it only means that you activated your faith to receive what God has already done for you. God is not doing any new work. You need to understand that God is not going to perfect all that concerns you. He has already perfected it. Whatever He is going to do will be from whatever He has already done. Every invention on earth after creation is solely the responsibility of man. Man only makes use of the raw materials that God hath provided and bring about innovations and inventions to make his life here on earth beautiful and easy.

The more you study the Word of God, the more you will realize that God is really not doing anything for anybody today, He has already done and fulfilled everything in Christ Jesus. He is not trying to heal you, He has already healed you. Isaiah records that with His stripes, you were healed. He has already healed you. He has already given you all that pertains to life and godliness. All you need do is act on the Word and walk in your inheritance. Be all He has made you to be and enjoy all that He has made available for you in Christ.

INSTRUCTION: Be conscious of the finished work of Christ.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for giving me all that pertains to life and godliness, in Jesus Name. Amen!!

QUOTE: Everything is perfected in Christ.
