“For if by one man’s
offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace
and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ”
Romans 5:17
LIGHT FOR THE NOW: By the righteousness of His person, we have been declared right.
Death entered into the world through sin. Without sin, there
would be no death. For Satan to have authority over man, sin needed to be in
place. Death passed unto all men using sin as a legal ground. The greatest
bondage is to be in the bondage of sin. Without sin, there is nowhere man would
suffer. The greatest deliverance a man needs is the forgiveness of sins. The
nature of sin was already attached to us from birth. Adam had introduced sin as
an activity into the world. Through disobedience to God’s instruction, Adam had
established a pattern by choice (Romans3:10-12, 23; Romans 5:6-8). Death came
to existence because of sin. Salvation does not just bring forgiveness of sins;
it also brings freedom from death. Sin is the mother of all evil and it is what
gives Satan the power to operate. No man could pay the demands of sins.
Ephesians 2:1 says, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in
trespass and sins”. Anytime you are free from sin, you are free from
all the consequences of sin. Sin has been removed by the sacrifice of Jesus on
the cross. By the righteousness of His person, you have been declared right and
that is grace.
Christ did not just save you but He keeps you saved.
Salvation is the package for removing our sins, forgiving our sins and keeping
us saved. Hebrews 2:14-15 (NLT) says, “Because God’s children are human beings made
of flesh and blood – the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human
being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil,
who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have
lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying”. So, the death of
Christ was a total destruction, a technical knock out to the devil and his
agents.
INSTRUCTION:Know that your sins have been
forgiven.
PRAYER:Lord, thank you for taking my place
and dying for my sins, in Jesus name.
QUOTE: To be free from sin is to be free
from death.
